This place has the best fried mushrooms! They are the amazingly good. The pork tenderloin is a must have as well. They have a good selection of groceries. All of the staff have been friendly and kind. I do not live local so I appreciate their making me fresh fried mushrooms when they are out.

I stopped in expecting a gas station, and was shocked to see the grocery selection and all the hot food choices. I purchased some hot pepper smoked cheese, and they gave me a sample beforehand, and sliced the entire pound for me. Everyone was extremely friendly, the bathroom was clean, and the selection was shockingly varied. Very happy!

We hunt nearby Paveys. It was always an awesome pit stop for snacks and drinks. The people are so nice and the small town feel never fails to make you smile. The strawberry cheesecake snack bowl is incredible.

Pavey's is a fantastic place to shop. The people who work there are so friendly and helpful. Pavey's carries a little of everything. The deli is great. Their tenderloins are absolutely delicious. Prices are very reasonable. They also gas. Pavey's also help out the community food pantry.

Carthage's small town grocery, convenience and food store, actually the only store in town, and they try and carry a variety of items so you don't have to drive 10 miles to a large store. I have visited here several times, and they carry a small variety of groceries, all the main things you need in a pinch, along with hot pizza, sandwiches, snacks, candy, soda pop, and other ready to eat food items.The employees are friendly, helpful and appreciate your patronage. Quick in and out service, and prices are slightly higher than a large store, but for the convenience, it's worth paying a little more and saving the difference in fuel, ha. And the food is great if in town and needing a quick bite to eat.

If u need to do a split payment don't go to Pavey's! We have been turned away multiple times cause we needed to pay some with cash and some with card and the cashier didn't know how to do it! So I had to drive to Knightstown to spend my money elsewhere which is fine! Just saying y'all!

Previous reviewer erroneously stated this place isn't here anymore. I was there last night getting a Pizza (which, by the way, the Pizzas here blow away any national chain by a long shot). The service is 5 star, the prices for grocery items a bit higher than normal, but it's the only show in town unless you want to trek out 12-14 miles for the mart where they keeps the walls.

While I came in to use the rest room a customer at the deli counter who wasn't well had collapsed to the floor. The deli worker promptly called 911 and ran to assist the I'll customer. They don't have to be so kind and help people like they did. For that alone I will definitely give the store an excellent rating. When I'm in Carthage I will stop and spend my money at this local small business.

While not a grocery store but a larger convenience store, they do carry many essential items and have a decent selection of food/drinks. This is the only place around for miles to get milk, bread, cupcakes and you're going to pay gas station prices but the relief I felt seeing this store was open on Ishtar Sunday while camping nearby from out of town far outweighed the extra cost. Staff is friendly and the store is clean.

Bs that it closes at 8pm!Hmm so dont ask why ppl choose the new dollar store vs. paveys thats way over priced EVEN GAS!! WAY TO MUCHI only go there for an occasional adult beverage that paveys has over priced but now usually try to go to knightstown ; adult beverage that I prefer is cheaper &always open!

Lady at register is very rude and argued with me over a two dollar scratch off. She can't remember anything and lied and said I didn't when when I did. Then when I walked out she started talking crap about me to customers. While I was in the store she was telling a customer someone was an a**hole and the customer was whoever she was talking about a cousin. Feel free to stop by if you want to be chewed out by a rude old lady who doesn't know what she's doing!
