What a wonderful place! From the front office staff to the vet techs to the veterinarians, everyone is kind, efficient and helpful. Our Newfoundlands see Dr. McDaniel for their annual appointments. They’ve also experienced care from Dr. Bassett and Dr. Harris. The facility is always clean and the staff is always wonderful. Highly recommend if you’re looking for an animal hospital for your pets!

From her first appointment as our foster to the most recent visit as our adopted dog, the gals at Hazel Dell Animal Hospital have loved and treated our pup so well. I seldom write reviews, but it would be a shame to not publicly acknowledge their kindness and genuine compassion. We live downtown with several clinics within walking distance, and I typically make every excuse to not drive to the North side. However, the 35 minute one-way trip is well worth the care provided! We feel so lucky to have stumbled upon this special clinic. Thank you for loving our girl as much as we do!!

Took my cat in for a dematting, the process could not have been any more smooth and comfortable for us. Very kind and understanding staff. 10/10 would recommend bringing your kitty/pups to Hazel Dell Animal Hospital for a wonderful visit!

I have been going to this vet for years. Dr. Bassett helped take care of my first dog Sparcky and Dr. Harris takes care of my current dog. I have always been treated with so much kindness and the vet techs are also amazing. Very good at giving me information on what steps to take to help my dog and preventative care by doing blood work and stuff like that. I like that I have been able to call and ask questions and get answers I need. I have never had a bad experience, even when I came in due to medical emergencies. I would highly recommend them.

The entire team at Hazel Dell Animal Hospital was amazing! We have a special pupper that had a tough start to life and has anxiety beyond measure when going to our previous vet. We had a special situation with Miss Mia so needed a Veterinary Surgeon Specialist beyond what our regular Vet could offer. Our experience with our previous Vet was always filled with stress for both my husband and I and our Mia as she would have to be restrained and sedated for simple exams etc. From the moment we met with the staff at Hazel Dell Animal Hospital our fears and stress ( even Mia's) simply went away! They were kind and caring and Mia was a completely different pupper in their care! Dr, Elena kept us updated on Mia's care, responded quickly with answers to our questions and truly seemed to love on our special pupper! Thank you to all of the team at Hazel Dell Animal hospital!! You are all amzing!

Have been with them for years. Treated/treats my cats as their own. Very reassuring and explain things in detail. Accommodated even when I was unable to give saline every other day to my cat for comfort. Any urgent matters were addressed immediately over the years. Very compassionate. Assisted getting special cat food during shortage during lockdown/precaution times. Very grateful.

I'm so thankful I found this vet for my animals. They were so careful, thoughtful, and caring when my senior kitty was declining from kidney failure. They took great care of her at the end of life appointment which was the most difficult process I've ever had to go through.Now I'm bringing my big baby puppy to see Dr. Elena becuase.i had such a good experience with my kitty kat. She is so kind and gentle with all animals. She understands how to read a pet's stress level and makes the right decision in order to keep them as comfortable as possible during the appointment. I definitely recommend this vet hospital and Dr. Elena to anyone who needs vet services.

We have been several times and always had great care. Dr. Harris and staff are excellent.Update: 9 months later and this practice continues to be outstanding. They are so helpful and caring. They do everything to make my dogs feel comfortable. We have made numerous visits and always have excellent care. So glad we found this place. Vet tech Ashley is amazing and my dogs love her. We have a 2.5 year old Australian cattle dog and a 1.5-year-old Australian Shepherd mix.

I’ve had 3 visits for the same issue and every visit is around $500. I was quite annoyed this last time and told the vet I wanted the issue resolved. $1,500 spent on a UTI? I’ve never paid $1,500 for a UTI for myself and I’m a human. To make matters worse we have more visits so it’s going to cost me even more. I personally feel that they are price gauging and have certain quotas they are trying to hit with each visit. The last vet was better than the first one I was seeing but at the end of the day, the amount I’ve dished out is absurd. I need to find a new honest vet in the area.

Dr. McDaniel is absolutely wonderful at what he does. He is thorough, compassionate, knowledgeable and trustworthy. Every single visit I have had with him, he is consistently all of the above. He takes the time to sit and discuss any and all questions I have for him in a personable and conversational way. Just as importantly, he takes the time to greet my dogs and make sure they trust him first. I really can't say enough good things about him. The best bedside manner I've ever encountered with a Veterinarian. He is doing exactly what he is meant to do.The technicians and front desk are always friendly, helpful and sweet.And my boys Congo and Kobi agree with all of the above too! Haha.

Dr. Harris and her vet tech were AMAZING! We just moved to the area and our cat developed an infected abscess that we needed to get seen very quickly. Additionally, our cat has high fear-aggression at the vet so it was important to have both a Cat Friendly and Fear-Free Practice. The staff were so helpful in getting our cat seen same day and he did much better than he's ever done at any clinic before. Dr Harris and her tech was so understanding, compassionate and handled our cat with such care. He was quickly assessed, treated, and sent home. Dr Harris even called me a few days later to check on his progress. We are so glad we found such an amazing team.

Excellent routine and end of life care! I feel they truly love animals and do what they can to keep them happy and healthy. The only down side is the wait time for surgery, otherwise exceptional. Update.... the staff took my surgery concern and associated stress seriously and didn't make fun of my original review typos :-), which is really impressive. Review updated to 5 stars!

We have been going to Hazel Del Animal Hospital for almost 20 years. They have the most knowledgeable and caring staff. We have only had the most professional and efficient attention. They go above and beyond. I have lived in 10 states in the US and none of the vet clinics have come close to this hospital!

We had to bring our cat to a vet clinic and our regular vet was closed. Hazel Dell took us in right away. Although we were grateful they took us in on such short notice, I got the impression they blew us off soon after they found out our regular vet was closed (Saturday). They did a quick checkup on our cat and then they sent us to an emergency vet, where we were told by Hazel Dell clinic that there would be “no waiting time.” We ended up waiting 5 hours for service at the ER vet. I’m sure Hazel Dell treats their returning customers with the outmost care. However, it was a shame we received this treatment from them. Minimal effort from their part. They are 4 minutes away from my home. We would have gladly switched vets since we are new to Indiana.

I can not express how pleased I am to have found such a wonderful practice to take my new kittens! Everything from answering the phone, getting my babies in immediately, the entire staff, the genuine and professional care all indicate I’m in the right place. I had taken all of my pets to VCA in Carmel(formerly Companion Animal Hospital) for 21 years. I knew I had to find another practice after several unfortunate experiences, I can tell I’m in the right place! I only wished I had switched years ago.

I had been a customer of Hazel Dell AH for nearly 9 years but when we moved I decided to try a highly recommended clinic near us. What a mistake. While the drive is longer, I am back with Hazel Dell for my 4legged guy! From the receptionists, to the techs to Dr. McDaniel, they all are the BEST I've ever experienced, and that's after 50 years of pet ownership and working with local rescue groups.

Dr. Cross is THE best vet to be treating your loved ones by a country mile. She seriously deserves every award. She called us on her spring break to check on our dog’s (severe) situation because she wanted to know what was going on. Not only is Dr Cross (and honestly the whole staff from the other doctors to the vet techs to the front counter staff) caring, she is wicked smart too. Her hard work and dedication saved our beagle’s life.

Being agile and flexible to meet the needs of every unique day and situation is a guiding principle, along with being incredibly service-oriented.
