Awesome staff and the facility has plenty of space for getting to know your new family member.We went there for a specific dog and she was sweet to us, but she did not like our dog. The staff was very patient and helped us try a few more dogs until eventually they brought out Matthew. Matthew instantly got along with our dog and was so sweet to us. We were not sure how he'd do with our cats so we did their foster program which allowed us to bring him home and try things out. Needless to say, it went great and we signed the adoption paperwork 2 days later.

Got my new fur baby today, fell in love with this little guy with a huge heart, sweet demeanor, laid back kinda style. The entire staff was very helpful in letting me meet the dogs that matched my needs. The facility was very nice and extremely clean. We got home and discovered he had a stomach issue, the Director of the shelter, on her own time, drove 3hrs total out of her way to bring him some special food and a few other things. You just don't find people that Care that much anymore. Especially in these difficult times.He has adjusted very well and is very much a perfect fit for our little family.

Staff is super nice! My best pets have come from this place. I am so grateful these folks are there and for all that they do to bless the animals in their care.

if I could leave zero starts I would. i’ve called multiple times throughout the week in the very short amount of time that they are open (their hours are wrong on here anyway) and left a voicemail about a kitten that needs to be checked out before I can take her into my house and they never called me back! not to mention they lied about our other cat be good with dogs when he’s not just to get rid of him and allowing me to adopt a very sick dog they did not treat who subsequently ended passing eight months after I adopted him. they need to do better

If you are reading this, this shelter needs your help, donation, free help with helping take care of the dogs and cats, a better water line, so they can have full pressure all the time, not when it comes and go they need Your help. My inmate work crew has helped, and we plan on going back, but until then, they need all of Clay County to come and help in some way.

At last when you need help with a stray CC is on it if they have room. I believe her name was Kendra.Very kind yet professional. I wanted a lap dog when I went in and ended up with a pit mix. Benson has been with us over a year.

Was at PetSmart in Plainfield, IN today. Sadly the animals in the van were waiting over 30 minutes in the sun. Was nice about it when I brought it to a young lady working for the society. She got upset & told me to mind my business. Instead of worrying about the pets that were getting over heated in the sun. Plainfield officers were on the way, but the van left. These people don't care, these pets are just another pet. The van had not ventilation for the pets either.

My boyfriend and I are visiting Brazil from Pennsylvania and we found a teeny tiny kitten. We took it to Clay County HS and the staff there was friendly and compassionate and took the kitten into their care. I felt so at peace leaving the kitten with them knowing he would receive the care and love he needs and deserves. Thank you so much for helping this baby today!

We owe this place so much. The two dogs we have adopted from there have changed our lives. The employees are so welcoming and informative. Its obvious that they care very much for each individual animal in want them to get a good home. If you can't adopt then I suggest donating time or money. This is an asset to our community.

Very caring staff, efficient. They are overwhelmed with all the disposed of animals. We did rescue Ruby from there!! Please be kind to the animal YOU selected as a pet, they are a commitment. So MAKE IT!

I own a Newfoundland. For about a month this big beautiful neglected dog hung around. He loved my kids but already having a large dog I chose to have him go to a shelter. I called this shelter and asked how to have them pick him up. They said I would have to catch him. So I did. I put him on a rope through the collar he already had on. This collar was about grown Into him. They showed up and accused me of neglecting the dog. I explained that I had my own dog inside and that thos one was hanging around. I had not fed him nor helped in any way but to call them to take him. They said does he have a name. I said no. He was not my dog and he showed up. They said why does he have a rope and dog house. I said I have my own dog inside and we have the rope to keep her in the yard when I'm outside gardening. They then accused me of dumping my dog on them. I explained yet again my dog was inside. So I went in and around my dog outside and showed them. They then said that I didnt want the mutt because I had a pure bred. I told them at this point to take the dog and they had 10 minutes to get off my property. I went inside and waited. They left. The following day I go outside with my dog and find they not only took my rope but took the dog house that we bought for our dog without permission. I called and they told me that they were told they could have them. I told the lady exactly what happened and that I needed those items for my dog and they had no right to take them. But she then told me they had already been donated and I had no way of getting them back. So I had to buy another $300 dog house for my xxl dog and a new rope so she could go back outside with me. Place is dishonest

This little dude was adopted from the clay county humane society in Nov 2019. They even let us take him home the same day. Staff there are awesome.

Clean kennols, very helpful, althoughI didn't get a pet from this facility they did refer me to ollie's canine campus and I found my new special puppy. Thanks for the help 🙂

This is not the Clay County Humane Society in Brazil In. It is a company that represents itself as the humane society. I donated $165.00 to what I thought was the Brazil IN humane society, they never received it. These people are just stealing money.

They are always taking other people's dogs and trying to put them down when there's nothing wrong with it except for the people that's working there how they treat the animals
