I went in to purchase a beta fish for my daughter Christmas gift. I was met by an aggressive staff member who refused to sell me the fish because I didn't have a 5 gallon tank that they tried to sell me. For over $130 dollars. If fish can not be in a small tank, then they shouldn't have them on the shelves to be purchased. I will take my business to Petsmart. I am sure the customer service will be better.

I got my 109 lb dog groomed for the first time at Petco and I am thrilled with how great he looks. It is so much trouble for me to groom him that I decided it was time to pay someone else to do it and it was totally worth it! The groomers name was Caitlyn I think

Great place for all of your pets needs. They offer all of your standard Pat items for sale in addition to selling live animals such as hamsters gerbils ferrets parakeets lizards snakes fish cats etc. They offer animal grooming and dog training classes and also have a reward point system. My family and I have been going here for years to get our dog food and such. They offer curbside pickup as well

Decent store. I wish there was a better selection of natural cat foods without added, unnecessary ingredients. I was specifically wanting to try natural balance, but they only sell the dog food.

The fish are decent but the staff are unfriendly/ unhelpful and a bit aggressive. They definitely could use some customer service classes. Ive never been more frustrated with staff members. I went in to help my little brother get a betta fish and they made an argument and tryed refusing to sell unless he had a 5 gallon or bigger even tho they sell 1 gallon betta tanks. Ill be taking my business elsewhere.

This situation most likely does not reflect the store as a whole just the 2 young girls that were working this past Easter Sunday around 4pm in the fish area. My daughter had received a 5 gallon fish tank for Easter so we went to purchase a small gold fish or Beta fish to put in the fish tank. The beta fish were sitting in air tight plastic containers on the wall the cheapest was around 18-20 bucks when I spoke with 1 of the girls at the fish area service desk she said I would have to purchase another fish tank from the store as well as a beta starter kit and a heater for the fish tank etc well this was adding up to almost 100 bucks which just wasn't reasonable at the time so I asked about the goldfish and once again was told per state and store guidelines I had to purchase a bigger fish tank a 50 gallon fish tank for 1 single .49 cent goldfish. Needless to say my daughter did not get a fish for her new fishtank on Easter as planned. Figured since we already had the fish tank and everything to go in it going to the store to purchase a fish with 50 bucks in hand would of been more than enough. As I let my daughter look around the store more trying to get her mind off the fish I seen these 2 girls use the same selling technique on other customers when they were trying to purchase a hamster for their child that store and state policy was customers had to purchase 100 bucks or more of supplies in able to purchase a fish or hamster. These 2 girls obviously didn't care that I had walked back in hearing distance of the service counter because they were laughing with each other over the fact that they had made up it was state guidelines as well to make the extra purchases considering they even said the small goldfish were get so big they would need a big enough fish tank in place of a pond. Several children left this Petco Store on Easter Day upset and disappointed due to these 2 selfish and naive girls not to mention only manager the young girl that was just the shift lead acted like she was blind and had no clue how to handle the situation

Don't let them scam you into buying "vitacare" it is for a YEAR (they fail to mention that) and on the app you can't cancel it either!! So the ONLY way to get out of this scam is to get a new debit card...NOW TRY TO GET MY 10 DOLLARS A MONTH!!!! I don't even go to petco enough for this vitacare to pay for itself ...scam!!

I took my baby to this store to get a groom. She went in happy and when I picked her up she was distressed. She have been setting in one spot since Saturday and want eat or drink. I am so sad that they get my dog

Sales floor staff is nice, but I purchased some ghost shrimp, and two out of four of them had parasites, one of them is pictured. Ghost shrimp are so cheap I didn't care for a refund, so I humanely killed the infected shrimp, and I am quarantining the other two.This isn't the actual issue, things happen but when I called I informed the person on the phone of the issue and they just didn't care at all. He mentioned coming in for a refund twice, which I denied and then just acted like "why are you calling?" when I was just telling them about the possibility of selling lots of infected ghost shrimp. But why wouldn't you care? It's really not that hard to just medicate the tank and inform customers about it. Most people won't care because its a 0.69$ shrimp, but its still a pointless loss of life that can be prevented.** Scott is super nice

Placed an online pick-up order. Within 30 minutes, it was ready. Matt(super nice employee) quickly brought it to my car. Shortly afterward, I needed to exchange an item, so I went into the store, Matt brought me a better size, handled the exchange, and I was on my way. Thank you!

My dog Earl and I have had amazing experiences at the Petco in Bloomington. Earl absolutely loves going there and gets treats every time we check out! He also got his favorite toy there (a special yellow nylabone that I have not been able to find at any other store)!The grooming staff is especially amazing. They know Earl by name and make sure that he is comfortable and happy when he arrives. He also looks very calm when I pick him up, which is great since baths really stress him out! The prices are especially amazing - he got a full groom/haircut including having his nails buffed for $43 (they also periodically send out 30% off coupons so it came to $30 with the coupon).

It seems like every time I go into my local PetCo branch, the cat section has been reorganized. I understand selling items by brand, but when I know I'm looking for treats, I don't want to have to go through every aisle to find them, especially as treat packages are so small. I wanted Fruitables cat treats, but I couldn't remember what brand makes them, so I was unable to find them at all, despite being pretty sure I'd seen them at this PetCo in the past.

Having problem with algae bloom in my tank. Took water in to be tested. The man who helped me clearly and simply explained my problem and what to . He did more than just sell me chemicals. I wish I could remember his name.

Would give a zero if I could. I went to buy some fish and live plants. I was willing to drop a couple of bills but as usual the employees disappear and hide when you need help. I waited for some kid to finish with a family that was new to the hobby for at least 20 minutes and was completely ignored when he was done. I will never go back to this store because this is normal for this location no matter what year it is. Customer service does not exist.

We have 5 cats and 2 dogs, and alternate between stores for their supplies. We have tried to limit food options to what Petco has to eliminate food options that may not be great for our fur babies, yet available across the country for when we travel. Also, thanks for sending reps to the Pet Expo this year at the Switchyard. We got an excellent food bag from your table!

You are not carrying the small cans of the TIKI CAT Tilapia or Sea Bass. You carry the 6 oz. cans of Sea Bass which I buy, but you do not carry the Tilapia, which I need. You carry way too much of the PATE' which my cat will not touch. Also, you do not carry enough of the selections of the Applaws.

Joey in the aquatics department was outstanding. He had an amazing personality and taught me a lot about which creatures would best combat hair algae and help keep the tank clean. I was also helped by another person named Ben who helped me get some hard corals and taught me that corals were actually colonies of individuals animals. Wonderful staff!

I've never been here, and been disappointed. The staff has always been extremely knowledgeable. I'm usually only there for fish, and they make sure I'm educated on how to take care of every breed. This isn't even the closest pet store to me, but I'll travel the extra distance for the service.

This store is a hidden treasure. A hidden gem and should be posted as such. It might be a corporate chain store but there is some magic happening in here. The aquatics aquarium fish salt water and freshwater department is actually quite amazing. Very skilled and talented people work here that maintain these systems. If you love fresh water and saltwater fish this is a must go to. It is just as good as any privately owned expert aquarium store. Enjoy. Five stars for this department only the rest is not applicable to my review.

Would give five stars I genuinely like this place they sell good fish tank parts and they even sell floater plants which is something you don't find at places like PetSmart I genuinely love this place and go there regularly for fish tank supplies but I saw a chicken outside and that really messed my day up how is it even possible that there is a chicken in Bloomington other than that the only thing that bothers me is like that giant spider and the scorpion that they're selling in there very gross

I couldn't find what I was looking for, but thankfully an employee ( I didn't get his name) asked me if he could help me find something. I told him what I was looking for and he knew right where it was located. The baby blue baked puppy treats were up by the cash register. I would have never thought to look there. I'm grateful to the employee for helping me.
