Rachel did an awesome job overnight pet sitting for our two dogs this weekend! We were able to get away from home while knowing that our pups were safe, happy, and well attended to. Highly recommend!

Highly recommend MAD4MYDOG! The classes are informative and helpful. We have been training our dogs with Madalyn for over 11 years now. We currently use their doggie daycare! Our dogs enjoy the interaction and socializing with other dogs. And, it really helps getting that energy out!! The supervisors watch over the dogs and are gentle and kind. If you have any questions or concerns they are always happy to help. Try them out! You won’t be disappointed.

Seems very knowledge and after one day at the dog training gave us the knowledge to help our 2 month old newfoundland puppy already sit and lay down, on command (not every time but we are getting there)

Highly recommended for first-time dog owners! We purchased the Perfect Puppy Package and it really helped us learn how to communicate with our sour patch kid of a pup. He's very shy and wary with new things (people, other animals, new foods or toys) and the socialization factor alone is totally worth it.

Mad 4 My Dog and Madalyn are both an awesome company/owner! It is easy to see why the business and owner are very well respected in the area! She has always been extremely helpful and knowledgeable about any situation I have had questions on. She can provide real world experience and feedback, is funny, and very passionate about her work! Knowing her attention to detail and having been to the location, it amazes me at the few negative reviews that are in here. I guess you can't please everyone all the time! I wouldn't want to go anywhere else!

Background:My dog is a smart, high strung wild child. You might say he's spicy,or maybe sharp. We got him in December, already a year old and full of terrible habits, no manners at all. He didn't even seem to understand that the squawking of humans was intended as communication. He was noisy, grumpy all the time, under-exercised (could not take him on leash walks, because he'd pull, hard, every direction at once, including up and down) and found 20 different ways to be naughty every day. He would jump on me, tearing my clothes and leaving long scratches on my arms (his idea of a casual greeting)Irritating, destructive, difficult. In the winter we took Madalyn's Foundations class and are currently finishing up Intermediate. I also signed him up for one afternoon of private training (10 min per hour x 4 hours) with her, took her Loose Leash workshop and used her video class on reactive dogs.I learned that a tired dog is a sleeping dog, and it's hard to be destructive when sleeping. The dog park, the tennis ball, and off- leash time on forest paths are all vital to his sanity and our relationship. I learned to keep him well supplied with toys and anticipate his responses. He needs toys he can legally shred, break into, shake and get food from. He needs for my shoes and the laundry basket to live on a shelf, not the floor. He needs to be given good options. Now, 6 months later,(Drumroll , please...)He sleeps quietly when I'm gone, doesn't jump on me when I get home, plays joyously when outside. He's not destroyed any shoes or laundry in months. He barks when there's someone on the property but hushes up too. He no longer claws at me for attention. When I say "Dogs stay out of the kitchen!" he backs up and waits at the door.Last week when I walked him through town, he got complimented by a group passing by on his very good manners, how well he walked on the leash, how happy he seemed.Yay!Is he perfect? No.Did I find him standing on the dining room table last week?Yes.But such progress!!In her classes, Madalyn uses only positive reinforcement, building trust and communication, helping us with our timing, tone, & treats to maximize the effects of our work at home. Her handouts are clear and useful. She teaches us to laugh at ourselves and our pups, and to understand we are all doing our best even on days when it's raining and we're grumpy and the dogs are going nutty from too much unburned energy. Just keep it light, keep it fun, build on the connection between your voice, their behavior and those yummy, yummy treats.Definitely recommend Mad 4 My Dog!--JudyO Owens, DVM

My dog is in the beginner classes right now and she and I are both loving it! You can tell they know what they are talking about and they give you the tools to better train your pup!

I have only had my 10 week old new belgian malinois puppy for a few days, and he was a terror before taking him to Mad 4 My Dogs puppy play dates. What really made things night and day though was our first Basics class. Already it is like night and day from when we first brought him home.Beyond that, the knowledge that the trainers have, as well as the prices here, I can not recommend any other place for your pets needs, especially dogs.

I just moved to Bloomington and Madeline was greatly helpful in accepting my dog and giving me great advice. My dog Sunny loves going to daycare and play there all day. Fantastic staff, great environment and the best place for dogs to be.

Madalyn knows her stuff. She's a shining beacon for any new dog owner who might feel like they're in too deep with their furry friend. I have taken her beginners 1 class, used her grooming services, and purchased items at her store. She's kind, compassionate, tenacious, and has the best sense of humor. When she's not working, she fosters animals that would otherwise not have homes. I highly suggest following her on Instagram to see the reels and highlights of training a dog that can't see or hear. She is the epitome of animal training--creating a positive link between pet and owner so both feel safe and secure. You can't get that kind of experience at a corporate owned pet store.

Fabulous local business. We’ve shopped there for food/treats, attended multiple training classes, used grooming services, gone to play dates, and had the pleasure of using their dog sitters. We’ve been 100% satisfied with every aspect. After adopting a rescue pup with anxiety and behavioral problems, we leaned heavily on Madalyn to help us with things like resource guarding and abandonment issues. The staff is so accommodating (shout out to Sabrina) and their pet sitters are so kind and responsive (thanks Paula, Kayla, Remi, and Stephanie)!

We adopted a 10mo old neglected Great Dane. He was 80lbs when we got him and we knew our window to get him trained before he hit the VERY ACTIVE 1-3 year zone at 150lbs was small. Thanks to the owner and her crew our “lil” puppy was easier to handle in those chaos years and has calmed substantiallyOooo and they have great play dates and nail trims.

Madelyn did SUCH an amazing job working with my chihuahua and I. I brought her in for a group class to work on some basic commands and reactivity issues. Madelyn was super knowledgeable and a great teacher! Made things super easy to understand and offered lots of alternative ideas when something wasn’t working for Roo. I absolutely LOVED how affordable her classes were too! Sad we’re moving and won’t be able to come here anymore! :(

Madalyn is very good - really knows her stuff. Our puppy seems to have hit her teenage time really hard, but especially if you do the homework with your dog, the techniques you learn at M4MD are solid.

Great staff, great prices, amazing items, and a dog trainer with 25+ years of experience. If your dog has been having issues, the training cost is worth it, I promise you that.

I have taken my dogs to Madalyn for training for 20 years. She is awesome training humans important lessons and skills on how to live with their canine family members. She is great with reactive dogs. She has always listened and provided feedback whenever I have questions or situations where I need her advice.

Madalyn and her team saved my relationship with my toy poodle! Sammy, who is 1, started living with me in Jan. He was very under socialized during the first year of his life and struggled getting used to the amount of people and dogs in my apartment complex. I would take him for walks and he was very reactive to other people and dogs. He would show aggressive behavior when meeting other dogs or when guests would come over. I was scared Sammy would get evicted ;). I was exhausted and didn’t know where to turn. I work in patient care and my patients would tell me great success stories and would recommend M4MD over and over! I started by taking my Sammy to the basic foundation class. Madalyn was so patient and helpful in teaching me how to communicate clearly with Sammy. He was not always the perfect student, but we would go home and work consistently for these commands to stick. Sammy and I gained so much confidence and trust in one another! Sammy is thriving and is so well behaved in the dog park and loves playing with other dogs. After taking this class, another owner that previously witnessed Sammy’s aggression told me if he was his dog, he would have taken him back to the breeder 😳 He complimented Sammy’s new behavior and was impressed with his improvements! We also did the Loose Leash Walking workshop. Madalyn took her time recommending a different harness and fitting Sammy in it. A simple change in the harness made such a big difference! In all, Sammy is a much better behaved dog and has learned so much! We will continue taking classes when our schedules align! I was SO relieved to find them and am OVER THE MOON with our experience! WORTH EVERY PENNY💙💙

This place is great, even though it is now pretty far from me I still don’t want to go anywhere else. They offer lots of different services (training, dog group play, grooming, and pet sitting/ letting your pet out for 30 minutes and playing ). The owner, Madeline, is knowledgeable and helpful. She is very hands on and involved in all the services that they offer.

Negative attitude dog - no problem. Staff remains so pleasant during & afterwards. Unbelievably great grooming - bath & brush with nails, ears and anal glands expression if needed. Training also available!

The entire staff has been extraordinary in helping to educate this novice pet parent. In addition to a plethora of classes and workshops, they offer play dates, a full service grooming salon, food, toys and supplies. We have attended many classes and workshops and each one has been fantastic. They are never to busy to share guidance and education on the fly or to help seek a solution. They’ve groomed my pup every 4-5 weeks for the last 2 years and she comes home happy and beautiful every single time. The folks at M4MyDog genuinely care. They are a win-win for dog owners and for the community they serve.

Anyone who shares their life with a pug knows they do not like having their nails cut or filed. I'm ashamed to admit it but Hope hadn't had a bath in a long time and with Art's health issues I hadn't had her nails trimmed in quite awhile. I took her to Mad4MyDog today. They did an amazing make over. He nails were trimmed and filed. They bathed her and I could tell she felt fantastic. Her fur was super soft. I give them 10 out of 10 stars! Really 20 out of 10 because she is completely relaxed. They are amazing!!!

After reading all the reviews I REALLY wanted to like Mad 4 My Dog. I signed up for Doggy Daycare and today was the first day.We arrived on time and there was ONE employee at the store to manage grooming, front register and daycare (Red flag 1). Employee was grooming one large dog in a tiny grooming area and they told me to bring my pup into the tiny grooming area. (Red flag 2). In addition to the large dog being groomed there was another puppy in the tiny grooming area for daycare. Naturally my pup was reserved in this new setting. The puppy approached my pup as the employee restrained the large grooming client. Everything okay at first, then the large dog was released and both dogs cornered my pup next to the half door. This startled my pup and she cowered and warned the dogs to back off by growling and warning snap.I told the employee my dog was very uncomfortable so the employee decided it was best to take my pup and the other puppy to the day care area. I coaxed my pup in as she was very wary after being cornered. We entered the day care area, which was a large concrete room with no visible water station, no resting beds or crates, no toys or diversions. NOTHING (Red flag 3). Just a sad empty concrete room. I almost took my pup home at this point but after observing her for 20 minutes and seeing she was growing comfortable around the other pup, I decided to give it a try because of all the amazing reviews online.I picked my pup up 4 hours later and SHE.WAS. BACK. IN. THE. TINY. GROOMING. AREA. (Red flag 4), with the puppy I left her with PLUS a large dog on the grooming table. Her attitude was high alert - not at all relaxed and happy, but not frightened.I asked for my pup's lead and the original employee I left my pup with said they gave it to me (they didn't). They offered me a kennel lead to borrow and when I asked about my pup's lead they denied having it went back to grooming (They was short with me almost to the point of rudeness, but I would have probably reacted the same way if I had to manage grooming, front register and daycare PLUS try to locate a missing lead. So no judgement at all for the overworked employee). Lost lead is Red flag 5.HORRIBLE experience. I will never be back and I strongly recommend to NOT take your pup to the day care. Training might be great as per reviews, but daycare is absolutely horrible. No redeeming qualities AT ALL.

I am so grateful to have found this place! Mad4MyDog was recommended to me by a volunteer at the shelter when I adopted my 7-month old pup. We have used playdates, group classes, private training, and grooming. After a bad experience, my dog has been really resistant to nail trimmings, despite having no issues with her paws being handled. Her vet recommended she be sedated to have this done. After noticing her nails were long, Madalyn offered to try and trim them after class. I was hesitant but with just some treats and a little time, Madalyn was able to get it done! (without restraining her which was adding to her stress). I’m so glad my dog was able to have positive experience with having her nails trimmed and won’t have to go through the stress of a vet visit and sedation every 6-weeks. Since we are moving and won’t be able to have Madalyn do this for us again, she spent lots of time discussing a plan for trimming her nails at home.We started by doing puppy playdates. These we’re so essential for my high energy girl! It was really helpful to expose her to playing with other dogs in a controlled environment that I could be present for rather unlike daycare or the dog park. Even though you can sit back and watch during these times, I learned a lot about body language and how/when to step in when play is too rough. We then completed basic, intermediate, and CCC-1 in a three month period as I am a student and we are moving. I am so glad we were able to fit all this in. I have learned so much about how to train and communicate with my dog through Madalyn. We also did a private lesson with Madalyn and this was super helpful for applying some class skills we have learned to some things she struggles with like walking past other dogs on walks without getting overexcited. All of these services were affordable and have set us up for a great life together!

Excellent place to train & learn to train your dog. Also was a good activity for the wife & I to share together.Update: Since being a customer of these guys, I recently did some work there an witnessed their newly added daycare. This wasn’t just a glimpse, but hours of observation on multiple days. The staff (which is extremely kind) paid very close attention to the dogs. There was a young lady in the room with them being attentive at all times. If the dogs started to be disgruntled with one another, (which dogs at times do)she immediately split them up, removing one to the outside. Then she would rotate the dogs in say 10 minutes. Wasn’t just throw a dog to the side, and be out of sight, out of mind.

We took our french bulldog, Lloyd to the puppy play times and small breed play times last summer. Lloyd had so much fun meeting other dogs and learned to become social in such a positive way! We were so pleased with these play times that we signed up for the basic dog class. Madalyn did an unbelievable job in teaching so many skills to Lloyd and myself, as an owner. I will definitely be signing Lloyd up for more of the play times and lessons! Madalyn and her team are helpful and very knowledgeable about caring for dogs. It is so wonderful to have a trainer and facility here right where I live.

This place is great! Our pup has been there for classes as well as play groups. We had a minor issue and what the issue was is not important. Madeline responded quickly, appropriately and professionally. We are about to sign our pup for a third class! They have been extremely good at teaching us as dog owners how to achieve a well behaved puppy! I definitely think if you are on the fence about using this business, absolutely you should do it!!!!

I love my dogs very much, and I trust this facility with their care completely. We've been coming to them for years to groom our dog, and we always know our dog will be well cared for and safe. He came from an abusive home so he needs somebody with a gentle touch. So glad that we have this business available to us and 10/10 would recommend to anybody who loves their pet. Also, very clean and covid safe.
