Great local business!They usually have what I'm in need of. Expert staff are always helpful. Today I needed to make repairs to my old echo PB-2100, the guys down stairs hooked me up with a kit that fixed my blower. You can't find service like this is a big box store!

Rental Experience was great, just like all the previous times I've rented from them before. Able to talk to a real person on the phone who was friendly and helped me reserve a piece of equipment. Pick up was easy, the equipment was in great condition, drop off was fast and easy. Way better than other rental options in the area. If these guys have what you want, then rent it from here!

Shopping the hardware section is the only decent part of this place.If you rent equipment from here, you better have it thoroughly detailed before bringing it back. They charge an $85 deposit and truly make you believe you will get it back. But what they don’t tell you, is If it comes back dirty at ALL, you’ve lost your $85 deposit. We sprayed and cleaned off the equipment, and that still wasn’t good enough for them.Here’s a thought True Value, try being an honest company and charge a flat $25 wash fee.Get rid of the robbing people of their $85 deposit for using DIRT equipment in the DIRT.

I swear, these guys are probably sick of me and my John Deere Mower, but they have been so helpful and kind to me, especially since I've moved and needed to sell the beautiful machine. They are letting me store it there until I get it sold. They have done great work on it as well! I would definitely recommend this store to anyone!

I am a 76 year female and I was in your store yesterday looking for a flag for my mail box. A young man, his name is Nick asked to help me. Never have I experienced such exceptional customer service (and I have lived a Long time) He listened to my story about the mail box and retrieved several parts for me. I can assure you I will never shop in another hardware store again. Thank you Nick!!!!

Great experience in the rental area. Needed to rent a 40 foot ladder, the guys helped secure it for me and made sure it was safe. I know you're thinking that's probably expected.... But it's not from other places I have rented from before. Others have basically sat the equipment out and expected me to load it, or when taking it back, to unload it for them. Wish I'd known before, all the things true value rents. Will be using them again.

Stopped by my favorite hardware store to see if they had mason jars. I didn't see them in the housewares section so started walking out. One of their associates asked if I found everything I was looking for. They had mason jars! And they had amber Mason jars so it was a win! They are always friendly and helpful and seem to be able to help me with any project I have.

My mower would not start and I explained all of the details to the mower guy and he was extremely helpful. The problem happened to be something that was much cheaper than expected. These guys were really honest and super helpful. Thank you from a new mower user!

I've never felt like I was being taken care of buying a piece of equipment like I did here! They are very curtious and happy to help you and will talk and listen. Will do a lot more business there for sure.

We needed star for our Fur Babies because cold weather was coming in. We were referred to True Value for Straw from TSC. I had a list of items to get. I am in process of making Christmas Crafts. They had a table with items written down 25%. We had a young lady in the floor who helped us to find what we needed. I was so Thankful for Employees that genuinely care!

My family's been shopping the store since it opened everyone in there is very well-versed in their products with the exception of maybe one or two guys ;-) very well-stocked their price pretty well for a small town hardware store they're very friendly the guy that cuts the keys is spot-on he's got laser eyes you could stand in there and talk all day about whatever you wanted to and shoot the breeze and get your rechargeable 2000 Lumen magnetic expandable flashlight they have U-Haul rental tractor and other equipment rental trailer rental it's the whole kit and caboodle kids

Paul and Kirt are great with everything small engines and Gravely. I own a small lawn care business in Bloomington and these guys have made my repairs a breeze and are easy to work with over the past couple years. I won’t go anywhere else for my gravely mowers!

I had a piece of metal that I needed cut (preferably better than I could do myself with a hacksaw). After some consideration about which tool would yield the best result, the guys in the rental/repair shop cut the piece to perfection. It was definitely worth the trip from Bloomington.

Took my mower in and the staff was very friendly, told me it would be about three weeks before they could get to it. Busy season I get it, but six weeks later still no call. The part they told me was 100 bucks and I couldn't get any cheaper, I found in several places for less than 20 bucks. Everytime I called about it it was, "its on the bench now should be tomorrow". Picked it up and mowed half my yard and it had the exact same issue. Took it elsewhere and they actually fixed it for a fraction of the cost ace charged. (Plastic fuel shutoff broke inside,$6) I won't be a repeat customer.

Over priced. Know-it-all sales people. Asking rather demandingly what you need right after you walk into the door demanding a description of what it is you came in there to buy. Whenever I walk in I Never feel like i could just walk in and browse I always feel like they are suspicious that a customer might go to the wrong isle and steal something. I'd rather shop Menards or Lowes. And now that I wrote this review I probably won't go here again even though I've been a customer for over 17 years sorry.... :( On the contrary though I have never had a problem with the rental department downstairs. I've always found them to be friendly and helpful.

These guys are really helpful always willing to explain the product never complain about fixing something. They gave me a really sweet deal when I was a few hours over returning a product they didn't charge me for the extra few hours it could have been a whole day's charge.

I have rented equipment off them few Differant times an always have been pleased,thay are very fair on rates an have good equipment an have pretty much everything you would need to get a job done,an the process is quick an easy I would recommend them as a first choice to anyone.

Ellettsville a True Value has had a major in store remodel. The layout is great, employees are always helpful. You might save by driving all the way to a big box store but they are close and always helpful making your selections.
