Really cool restaurant and delicious food. The Elk Burger was amazing. Whole family loved the beef burgers and waffle fries. The ice cream and milk shakes were so rich and creamy. Would definitely go back!Kid-friendliness: Great kids menu

I can only give a one star for Service, because we were never allowed to eat any food, by our choice.Arrived at Bub’s Bloomington location on a Saturday afternoon around 1pm. Was seated at our table, and was told our waitress would be with us soon.Three adults, one 5 year old.25 minutes later, no waitress, although there was a waitress serving tables and booths behind us.Not one person stopped to take a drink order, or ask if we had been waited on.The table beside us had two men sitting and talking. They had no drinks either, nor any signs of food on their table.A young man came to buss a couples of tables that had finished up around us. Did not stop to ask us if anyone had helped us.The dining area we were in was only 20% full.We ended up leaving, as it appeared to us that they must have been short staffed.We’ve eaten here before and didn’t have any issues.We assumed that if it took that long to even wait on our table, we were unsure about what type of service we would have gotten during and after our meals.We live out-of-town and was really looking forward to eating there, as it had been good before.We plan to go back sometime this summer, when school is out for IU.Hopefully we’ll have a better experience.

I first tried the hot dog and fries, and I was throwing up 6 hours later. I was told to get something less salty, so I tried the standard burger. When I returned to weeks later and tried the burger, I was throwing up at 2:00 in the morning due to its intense seasoning. I have eaten an entire tablespoon full of salt and that was less salty than both meats. I was not aware nor told that the seasoning would be strong and that I had the option to have it reduced. The service was very friendly, and the restaurant itself was clean and inviting.

Bub's never disappoint. I haven't done their one pounder challenge. Only have had the normal burgers. And they were always top notch food. Their speciality burgers are tasty and the loaded fries are filling. Specially love the milk shakes. But all of that together is bit too much for one person. Still a great experience. Have to specially mention their signature chilli which is served to everyone when they get seated. Which is great. Quite friendly service and the outdoor seating is more calm than the indoors. Would recommend for any burger lover.

I ordered takeout, so it didn't seem fair to give higher scores to the atmosphere and service. Paid for $15 burgers and $7 waffle fries, but unfortunately everything was overcooked and super dry. Asked for medium rare, but was overcooked enough that I needed a drink to make sure I didn't choke from the dryness. It was also pretty cold, just generally lackluster for a $46 meal for 2. The meat actually was seasoned well, which meant it could have actually been good if it was prepared better. Also do NOT say yes to the marshmallow sauce, it's horrible and I don't know why it's on the menu, I wouldn't eat it with anything except dessert

I had heard of the Big Ugly challenge but had never attempted it. On Sunday, I decided I couldn’t wait anymore. It is a big burger. Much bigger than the picture makes it seem. 22oz pre-cooked.A lot of food challenges that I have tried in the past didn’t seem to care much about the taste. This was a great burger. I enjoyed every bite. The bun was buttery and the meat tasted fresh. Finished it in 12 minutes and 22 seconds. Might have to try for two next time!

I have always loved this place. To-go orders are put together perfectly for delivery, food is always fresh, clean environment and fast service. The managers and staff have always been amazing at keeping this restaurant clean and a positive environment. My favorite thing to get is a Settle For Less quarter pound burger, a sloppy waffle and if I’m feeling up to it, a banana shake. Also get you a Diet Coke with some vanilla syrup if you are just wanting to run in to get a soda on your lunch break! Staff always goes above and beyond even when super busy! It may be pricey for some people but you definitely get your money’s worth.

Cute little burger place off the main thoroughfare. Decent food, clean and not overly crowded. Pace was pretty slow considering but still a good spot to grab a bite to eat. Shakes are very good.

Have eaten here twice in the last month or so and both times, they’ve been out of sweet potato waffle fries! Also, last time, they were out of apple pie. I didn’t even bother to ask this time, afraid of more disappointment lol!! Supply and demand….they aren’t buying enough to keep up with the demands of people wanting them! Kinda disappointing. The burgers were good and juicy! Sloppy waffle fries were amazing! And they give you these weird chili shots, not sure why, but ok! Server was way better last time, this time the server was slightly lax. Not sure whether I’ll go back.

We stopped here along our road trip. The burgers were about average; I kind of liked my boyfriend's homemade ones better. But I like how they do the bacon (pictured). The waffle fries were to die for. I was really excited about the marshmallow brownie sundae but couldn't taste any marshmallow flavor. My boyfriend said the elk burger tasted better than my normal one.

Ingredients were all very good, I had a special burger called the Hoosier Daddy in the "Not So Ugly" size(12oz, I believe). It had bacon bits, onion rings, and bbq sauce on it, very good! I also got a small size, regular fry, they were good but didn't stand out. Their burger patties are smashed and large in diameter, different but no less delicious! Service was good with the exception of he brought out sample soups with no explanation, not a big deal but it was a tad confusing. Their chili was very good!I will be returning! Great burgers!

Real life Brugers Finally !!!you can taste the grill and seasoning, the edges even have that crunchy fried goodness. Best burgers in Bloomington hands down. The classic milkshake chocolate is killer good, heavy cream I'm sure and not good for you.....that's what makes it Awesome.

I have like Bubs over the years. I just went for the first time since before the COVID-19 pandemic, and I was a bit disappointed. First the price has gone up quite a bit, but that is expected now that everything costs more. Second, the burger just didn't wow me like it has in there past. Hopefully, I went on a bad night, but I probably won't go back for a while.

I had the half pounder, the "not so ugly" I ordered medium well and split a small order of fries with my wife. I was very happy with the way the burger was cooked and how flavorful it was. I have been to Bub's before in Carmel and Bloomington and will continue to patronize their business. Always good service, good food, and a small scoop of chocolate ice cream for desert. Can't go wrong.

While there is absolutely no doubt I love Bub’s, their burgers have gotten rather pricy. I can eat 3 big uglys in one sitting. I have my picture on the wall at this location and in Carmel. Unfortunately, three burgers are now $75.00. 😱 I did try a dog this trip as well. The skin was tough and the cheese wasn’t hot and fresh like it should be. I will stick with burgers.
