The place itself is alright gimmick. I asked them if they would make me an espresso coffee and guy responds with "sorry our machine isn't working we're not doing that right now" I got the same reply when I asked for a smoothie instead. When we sat down waiting on our lunch, I noticed that he still charged us for a smoothie, as soon as I got up to complain he went right in the back cooler to angrily take out the frozen berries from their fridge/freezer like he was pouting, and brought one out ten minutes later. If staff are willing to lie directly to the customers face over something so trivial, what else are they doing to avoid work? I don't know what his attitude problem is about but I hope he's doing something else now.

We have been to the Btown Bagel Co downtown and had a wonderful experience. We decided to try this location yesterday for breakfast, and had a different experience. The place wasn't crowded, just steady, in my opinion. They were adequately staffed with 4 employees. They seemed to be rushing and kinda having attitudes with customers and with each other. They were out of almost every bagel, they only had plain and the sweet ones left - maybe we just didn't get there early enough. Our bagel sandwiches were incredibly messy upon opening them up with cream cheese EVERYWHERE. They were good, although we wished for the bagels we originally wanted, and the sandwiches were slippery and impossible to eat without our hands being covered in cream cheese. When we went to the location downtown, the place was PACKED with absolutely no room to wait for orders, but the staff was lovely and polite, they had every item in stock, and the sandwiches were delicious and not messy. Maybe we just went on a bad day, maybe we didn't go early enough. I'll probably try again on a different day, because this location is more convenient to me to get to than the downtown location.

It was really just...fine. Nothing made me want to return. Bagels were pretty tough and small, even for East Coast bagels. Sandwich was tasty though.Double Chocolate muffin oddly wasn't that chocolatey. Seriously the cake just tasted mostly of sweetness and no chocolate. It also was more of a cupcake than muffin.The Mango Ginger smoothie was WEIRD. It was more ginger than Mango and just wasn't sure if it was gross or good. Didn't really taste much like mango at all.

really wanted to give it 5 stars because the food is great and the workers were too but the ten + minutes for a rusty esp. machine to work was ridiculous!!! the older men was obviously doing his best :( the lady behind me said this has been an issue for years………

the toughest bagels in town. tried them multiple times over the years and have tried them catered at parties but you can always tell it's a BBC bagel by how much your jaw aches. great schmears and flavor selection though!

Best bagel shop around!! Bagel selection along with the cream cheese selection is huge compared to most other bagel places. They also have additional toppings such as spinach and cucumber, etc. Food is always fresh. Well priced menu. We make sure to visit here every time we are in town and always take one for the trip home.

As a NJ native, I recognize I have high expectations when it comes to bagels. Still, if a store uses the slogan is "East Coast Bagels, Midwest Service", they deserve to be judged on that standard. The schmears are quite good (I especially like chive and garlic/herb), and I have no complaints about service. The bagels are decent to be sure but would not past muster on the east coast. They are, as other reviewers have indicated, somewhat tiny, doughy, and chewy in a way that makes them tough.Furthermore, the prices seem a bit high to me. The "Lotsa Lox", which, depending on the day, doesn't contain that much lox, is just shy of $12 with tax. Given the bagel's size and the amount of lox they put in, I would expect such a sandwich to be about $2-3 cheaper. It also shouldn't run you more than $4 to simply order flavored cream cheese on a bagel.Overall: tasty cream cheese and good service, but lackluster bagels and overpriced sandwiches.

I will not ever be back to this place...EVER. My food literally had a long hair in it and when I brought it back in the employee was extremely rude. Insinuated I was lying, then refused to give me my money back. I was offered a new sandwich. I explained I didn't want a new sandwich because clearly their food preparation technique lacked cleanliness. Additionally, at the point I had already been insulted and just wanted a refund. Nope! No refund. No sandwich. I truly hope this place either goes out of business or teaches their staff how to treat customers. Unbelievably!!!

Delicious bagels! Friendly staff. Pretzel bagels go quickly, FYI (usually by 10:30ish?). Worth it if you can get 'em.

We love BBC and their bagels are the best. But they need to take names with orders- we brought home someone else's bag of bagels. Sadly, we ended up with a bunch of raisen cinnamon that no one in the house wants to eat.

There are several locations in Bloomington and they have about the same level of quality and service. Service has always been very friendly and helpful. The bagels are very tasty, particularly the jalapeño and Asiago cheese ones. I did get a couple of undercooked bagel once and the cinnamon bagel is definitely not my favorite but this a place that I frequently visit.

These bagels are so good. It almost makes you wonder if the hole in the bagel is for something else... Now that you've lost your appetite, let me give it back! After a long night of working my liver like a slave, there's nothing that gets me back on my feet like BBC (be careful what you Google search 🤔) in the morning! A whole variety of wholesome bagels with endless toppings to go with them. These bagels make me happy. They make my girlfriend happy too! Bagels are happiness. And we are entitled as humans to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Pursue those bagels as a human American.

It's funny how a bagel place can run out of bagels. Went in there one Sunday afternoon and they were out of ALL bagels except for Blueberry and Cinnamon raisin. You can't make a sandwich with that. On top of that, they were out of plain and jalapeno cream cheese. What? This was 2 hours before they close. And worst yet. This is not the first time this has happened to me at this location.Once you get your bagel and coffee, it will be delicious. Just don't expect to come in during the afternoon and get what you want. Because you might not.

In the past we've had trouble with bagel reservations at Bloomington Bagel so this time we even stopped by ahead of time in person. This morning we went in to pick them up ... no bagels. Also a while back I used the free bagel offer for an IU soccer shutout. The server didn't know about the offer but got a bagel then asked if I wanted anything on it. I said a very thin layer cream cheese. When I started to leave another employee came by and said I owed $1.87 for the cream cheese!

I hate leaving bad reviews but people should be informed- bagels from my first and last visit were doughy, tough, and (the not good kind of) chewy, granted I am spoiled coming from Chicago but I cannot recommend. Hoping they had a bad day or batch

Why are they ALWAYS out of everything on the weekends? Went to go get my bagel they screwed up yesterday and had to call ahead to make sure they didn't run out of the kind I wanted before I got there. Pathetic that I know I have to do that, right? I get there and they're out of sausage, muenster and LETTUCE! REALLY? Lettuce? Why do the owners not care about keeping there product in? It's ridiculous. I've been to MANY, MANY excellent bagel shops in the US. NEVER have I been told, "we're out," of ANYTHING! I'm so done with this business. Trying to be exclusive to the point of completely turning good customers off, isn't clever marketing, guys, it's just plain bad business. I'll be using your business example of what NOT to do in my business communication class. Keep your place stocked! Making extra bagels, you know you sell out of quickly, and basics stocked, is a no brainer, people!

Bagels are great and there is bound to be a schmear (cream cheese blend) that you love. Staff today was awesome, however that can be dependent on the day and college student working the place. At the very worst they are just tired from getting there before you woke up, so show them a little love. Great place, a little over priced, but still worth coming here on the regular.

We're from out of town, residing in Louisville, KY but had come up to Bloomington for a family gathering. I grabbed an everything bagel with the light veggie cream cheese and it was so delicious! Wish I had taken a photo of it before gobbling it up. Unfortunately, the latte i purchased was supposed to have flavoring but tasted like espresso and milk without anything extra.

Great safe distancing contactless walk up! You order from the door and there is plastic sheeting between you and the inside. They stand 6ft away inside to take the order and the card reader is out where you can insert the card yourself. Friendly staff and yummy food!

The hangover breakfast sandwiches on Asiago with garlic herb schmear, the Lotsa Lox bagel, strawberry banana smoothie, and double espresso were a great start to our day. Good luck taking a full bite of the hangover sandwich. Ha!!

The bagels are great, but this place desperately needs help being run. Lines in the door and the staff behind the counter are not setup for efficiency or throughput.Also, one person behind the counter kept touching their sweaty hair/face while making food.

Food is fine but they need to work on their employees paying attention to what they are making. Twice in a row employee seems more concerned about talking to their coworker then getting the order right, and mess up an order with two bagels

Bagel selection is vast. Cream cheese selection is vast. Both are passable but I have very high standards for both and will need to return in order to determine. Was a little pissed the breakfast sandwhich with shmear is $3 more than the regular breakfast sammy. Not cool.

Disappointed in my experience. The cashier couldn’t give me info on dairy free/vegan options and simply said “I can’t answer that definitively” and didn’t want to check with anyone else. So I guess I’ll never never know!

Colleg Mall location. Curt service to the point you have to always ask for your soda cups. Sweet cream cheese flavors always have a disgusting flavor of onion, probably from the schmearing knives. Really overpriced. Diet Coke leaves a wierd film in you cup. Floors are filthy. Furnishings are spare and aged. Toasted bagel was barely warmed. It's really the worst in the 15 years I've been going. Just don't.

They don’t even have a griddle. This place is so bad don’t waste your time.
