After a day on the lake, had a some great ice cream at the Dairy Barn. Service was great and the ice cream was amazing, the kids summed it up by saying "best day ever!".

I had a very unpleasant experience here. On the way home from a softball tournament in Jasper I decided to stop here with my daughter for food and treats due to the good reviews.We arrived just before 6pm, the Google hours said it closed at 7pm. We look at the menu and go to place a food order, but when we go to the window to place a food order they said they were no longer taking food orders because they were closing early. So my daughter decided on the Oreo avalanche, which looked great. We got on the road heading home and she said there was a giant piece of ice and I looked over and it wasn't ice but a piece of glass.I'm obviously very upset but also want to let them know in case something has happened that way they can fix it. I immediately turned around and returned shortly after 6pm and they were already closed up (not 5 minutes after we left). I banged on the window with no answer so I went to the side door and someone answered. The person said well I think that's plastic(see picture) and I'm not sure how that got in there almost seemingly acting like we put it there. They then blamed it on the packaging. They tried giving us a new one but I had an extremely traumatized 10 year old that is now terrified of ice cream. They did give me my money back in the end.I really don't think this was on purpose but regardless it was a very disturbing situation for my daughter.

The onion rings were awesome! Big and thick, but cooked just right with good tasting batter. Cheese burger dressings very nice. Burger patty nothing special, but it was overall a good cheeseburger made when it was ordered. Could not substitute onion rings for fries in the combo meal so we felt a little gouged, but they were worth it. To full to try the ice cream, will definitely go back to try it another time.

Worth the 15 or so minute drive from Sycamore Springs park. We got fried pickles, chili cheese fries, and a “garbage can” which were all delicious.

Service is goodFood is amazing even tho portions are small for considered abnormal costs. But if you aren't strapped for cash and have the luxury to spend a little for fun it's totally worth a once In awhile snack treat or if you're tourists who like to food adventure! 😋They often have a bill board on the back wall that has ads about events nearby too.Ice cream small cones are loaded tall high !! So totally worth it.Funnel fries with all toppings ftw!They no longer provide condiments and hours can jump around sometimes or missing changing flavor favorites machines down run out fast small portions for the hot foods and price for portions is reasons for not making full stars.

Menu said catfish, reciept said swai. I questioned it and was assured it was catfish. It was over cooked, and the parts they were like jerky were mushy and flavorless. Ate the fries, tossed the fish in the trash. Icecream was good but terribly expensive

Great, friendly, accommodating workers. AMAZING ice cream (not sure it can be beat), and a lovely chill relaxed area to eat outside with the natureKid-friendliness: Amazing with children - my kiddo decided he wanted some fudge in his ice cream after the fact of us paying and getting/tasting it, and they gave it to him free of charge which was not only super amazingly sweet of them since nowhere seems to do that anymore, but also very helpful for this momma so very much super appreciated ✨

Make sure you order the baby size cone or else make sure your an ice cream eating champion, they make the next sizes for the best cone connoisseurs to tackle. Great family atmosphere, delicious food and ice cream !!

The food was good, but the service sucks. We got our food but one thing. We waited 5 minutes to see. Then we went up to see if they forgot it. We asked if they forgot it and one of the lady’s said we in a really mean voice “I just takes a minute, so you need to wait.” Also we went at 11:30 and all they served for ice cream was shakes and food. Don’t know if we will go back.

Nice place to stop when you are out for a drive. Friendly people! Good ice cream! Will be a repeating customer.Kid-friendliness: Definitely a good place to take the kiddos for ice cream. There is a park across the road.

First time being here this season. We ordered sandwiches to go and waited over an hour for our food. French fries were soggy and we were given wrong size drinks. We were busy talking but as time rolled past 60 minutes, everything should have been fresh. Not sure we will ever order food there again. I understand the shortage of help....but everyone else was getting there food that ordered after us.

Ice creams HUGE. Too big if you ask me. Tried to order 3 different things off menu & they didn't have. (Tenderloin sandwich, onion rings, & fried pickles.) Young, not very friendly ,bad body language teenagers working the window.. my family ordered $40 worth of food, I was concerned how they handled my order while preparing it.. I'm sure the bad body language follows them to the kitchen.

Live in town but won't be back. We order from here once a week. But after today I won't be back! got my kids and wife food. Didn't check it when I picked it up. Came home gave my wife her mushrooms and let me tell you this, she is not a picky person at all. she will eat almost anything. But she opened her food up and they wasn't even cooked! They was soggy! Looked like they dethawed it and put it in the bag! She was gagging it look disgusting! I brought it back to the dairy barn, the girl working the widow seen it and ask me what's wrong with it! Are you kidding me! I said mam this is not cooked! She said ya but what else is wrong with it.. called the guy cooking to the front she said I told her it wasn't cooked and he rudely said well I cooked it! Just wow. They really need some adults there watching these kids because they are not cooking food and are gonna make someone sick!!!!

Cash only. Good onion rings but only get 5 for $3.50. Good funnel cake fries. Burger and battered chicken sandwich "all the way" were lacking flavor. We felt not a good value overall. With a response like the below from management I felt I would have to drop down a star. Obviously don't get it. We will NOT be back.

Servings are large, which it's what they're known for. I wish they took cards also and not cash only. Stopping here is a great family tradition for everyone I know. They do have good food as well as ice cream.

If you’re going to have your hours say open till 9 but when people show up at 8:15 to order food and are told the grill is off you should really post that food orders cut off at a certain time. This is the 2nd time in a week this has happened to my family. We have called each time before driving here only to arrive and not be able to order food. Super disappointed this is happening. It’s ridiculous. Used to love this place.Update: it wasn’t even 8:50 yet and they had a sign up that says closed. You should be serving till 9.It’s been off before 8:30 each time we’ve been there. The girl at the window told us that it gets shut off at 8:15. The story isn’t adding up. Maybe if you’re having problems with the grill maybe tell people or have it posted on your window.
