Get these stores out of our small towns. They don’t pay the amazing employees well and force them to take on way too much responsibility for the compensation. DGs business model takes advantage of low income families both with employment and food prices. I can’t wait until you get unionized one day. “Generally Not a Dollar unless theyre paying” is what I call it.

The door was locked at 1 o'clock in the afternoon! Lights were on but nobody home. Multiple customers went up to the door only to find it locked. One commented, "OMG! This PLACE". They lost 6 customers in the 5 minutes I was there.

You can’t never get through an aisle they don’t stock the shelves they leave it on the carts in the middle of the aisle would be a great place for someone to claim a lawsuit. They should really just close down, for the last three years they can’t stay open till the time they’re supposed to, close the doors already!!

This DG location seems to randomly close without any type of notice! Only store in town too! Why is this?? This has happened on MULTIPLE Occasions, employee cars out front and the door is locked, all lights are on and when you try to call the phone number someone inside takes the phone off the hook so the line stays busy….. Extremely inconvenient!

You can’t get down any of the aisles!! Half the shelves are empty because the employees don’t know how to do there jobs. Maybe if they spent as much time was they do talking to each other. Working people would find what they need. They need to be shut down until they can get their inventory stocked

Good store for a last minute stop. They have just about anything there and cheaper than a gas station. Employees are nice and it can get busy. Only thing I saw that was an issue where the giant potholes in the parking lot. People will serve right in your direction to avoid them!

To all of the comments saying that the potholes are bad, they now have a brand new parking lot..... but they used to be horrible!!The ladies are all friendly and nice... the employees know how to carry on a conversation and make you feel comfortable. Great home town store.

No frills, basic needs store yet always less expensive than a convenient store. It's no wonder they are popping up in all areas. The small town stores always have the BEST employees--friendly and helpful.

blonde haired girl cashier was extremely rude to me and my family after finally coming out from the employee room to ring us up and refused to check us out because i was buying wine for myself and had kids with me.

Good prices on dog food, store is kinda crowded with carts all the time. Usually long waits in line. To be fair they did just repave their parking lot which is great 👌

Went here at 8:30pm Saturday night, lights on, sign on the door said open till 10, doors locked. Probably 8 cars pulled in and left. You need to fire whatever clown you had working that night

They closed early when it says it is open my mother was doing a door dash there was a handwritten note that says Closing early due to no staff and this is the second time this happened to her she has someone come with her all the time and the lady last time was rude we won't be coming back to this dollar general

My FAVORITE DG to shop!!!! In summary, very good. Clean, well-kept, quick and friendly service.I have shopped at Auburn Indiana, Kendallville Indiana, Fort Wayne Tillman Road, Fort Wayne North Clinton, and Fort Wayne North Anthony Blvd. locations as well. The Avilla DG is THE BEST!!!! North Anthony is a good one, too.Management:Manager at Avilla is a great guy. Gentle spirit and friendly. He does a great job keeping the place going. It's a very busy store and he has a difficult job. His employees work HARD. Love to Amy and Sue, my faves!Important Insider info regarding all DG locations in the USA: If there is not a cashier at the register, please be patient, and at the very least don't be mean or rude to the employees, PLEASE! They are NOT slacking or being irresponsible or inconsiderate by being away from the counter in and of itself. They also stock shelves, change displays, post new prices, move entire departments, walk customers to items, etc. They are required to multi-task in some way each shift they work and they have no choice but to be away from the front of the store part of the time!!!! They will get there to ring up your purchase asap, truly. If you're in a big hurry and can go to a large store like Walmart or a big grocery store, you can use the U-scan or Self-checkout, or even go through a regular line, and this issue will, well...not be an issue 😉I now shall digress...[To all the employees' credit at Auburn and Kendallville, a big thing that they can't help is that the cramped aisles and tiny square-footage are a pain to walk through and peruse, esPEcially on the weekly delivery day. There simply is nowhere to put the boxes where they won't be in the way, so give the employees some grace, watch your step and elbows, and, if needed, *politely* ask an employee to move the boxes so you can get to the merchandise that the boxes are blocking. Try to be understanding. At the very least, PLEASE don't write negative reviews about those two locations or take their surveys and give them a low rating that is because of the blocked aisles, unLESS you pair your comments with asking that they relocate to a larger space. And don't get me wrong, this set-up is annoying and rediculous, not to mention not even close to handicap accessible. It is clearly in violation of regulations that the government put in place to defend people with disabilities' need for a wide area to move around in with walkers, scooters, wheelchairs, etc.]👉Lastly, no one at any retail store requested that I write this review on their behalf. I used to work at DG and know the script, so to speak. My hope is that what I have written makes a difference in both the lives of customers and employees. Working in retail is not at all easy! The full story of all that goes on in a small retail store to get everything done might be surprising to some. So, maybe the people who read this, if previously ignorant of the ins and outs of retail jobs, will change their tune and view and treat retail employees, and each other, with dignity...like human beings, instead of expecting their customer service experience to be perfect, as if provided by cloned, teleporting robots.Finè

They dont take care of anything and the potholes in the parking lot are almost a foot deep. I recommend going to a different store and save the abuse on your vehicle.

This is a good place to pick up something quick if you forgot something at the big box stores usually pretty clean and the employees are pretty helpful
