Very impressed, very helpful and friendly staff. Produce looked better than I saw in bigger stores in Muncie. Meat counter well organized with high quality looking meat. Very clean store.

Normally we have pleasant experiences at your store in Alexandria, but on the evening on 2/4/24 the meat counter person was rather unprofessional and treated me like a burden. First he was scrolling on his cell phone and it took about a minute to notice me and my family waiting to be helped. I asked for three pounds of ground beef at the sale price of 3.49 a pound. I asked him to wrap it in 1 1/2 pound packages. He wrapped one up and set it on the counter, and I asked again nicely to have another thinking he maybe did not hear me. He rolled his eyes and got the other meat I asked for and I said thank you and walked away. Then I noticed that the first package of meat was at full price at the register. Very off putting for a regular customer.

I'll start off by saying that I'm writing this review/message in hopes that the highest of management reads or gets a notice of my message. My attempt here is for someone to schedule myself, my son, nephew and niece a time and day that we can come in so that the employee who came storming into the building yelling and pointing at these kids, clearly trying to intimidate them, Can apologize to them and myself. This is why: He thought that one of them moved his moped. Well, the 3 kids I mentioned above were sitting at the tables in the store, each of them eating and drinking food that all 3 of them purchased, at your store I would like to highlight, and my almost 60 year old aunt just happen to be shopping there and talking to the before mentioned kids when this maniac started verbally abusing them. Yelling and accusing them of things that they didnt do. After his attack he turned to walk away. My aunt asked the kids if they touchd his moped and they all said no so my aunt went after him to tell him that my kids didn't touch his moped. Well, at this time the employee who yelled and my aunt are over by another employee there not far from the tables where he attacked my kids at. This other employee has watched and heard this entire episode, this guy was screaming and causing a scene, everyone heard him and was looking., that's when this other employee, that just watched my kids get blamed, said that she was the one that moved his moped after all this went down, she finally admitted to moving his moped. He never offered my kids an apology, the woman never said sorry. So now, I ask will you invite us back so this man can apologize to my children, or will it be an unscheduled apology because the next time I see his moped parked there, I'll be stopping in because they will get an apology. From him is the only acceptable person, someone else who apologizes will not satisfy.This is an edit about 1 week from original post. The owner did message me back to not only apologize themselves but offered the man's schedule for the next week so I could take the kids for an apology. I see no reason to further prolong this situation or add anymore embarrassment to my children or to the man who wrongly accused my kids. I'm satisfied with the response that we got and the fact that they acknowledged this situation says alot. Good employees are hard to find and I've common sense enough to know that 1 or 2 bad apples doesn't represent the whole tree.

This is the mom and pop store you loved growing up. They carry local produce and meats, and the butcher will cut your purchase to order. Prices on every day items tend to be a bit higher than your big box store, but they run good sales. Such friendly staff!

I placed an order for a box of chicken at 2:15 to be picked up at 3:30 when I got there they said they had no order, sorry. When I went to the front office all they said was sorry. Well I'm sorry too because I have no supper. Very disappointed. No more small town shopping for me.

Great service from every employee I've met. Quality product, store is really clean. Great store all the time. The gentleman who makes the ground sausage is phenomenal and makes the Best fresh ground sausage in the area. Gotta love a guy who loves what he does. He deserves a HUGE raise. Just saying.

Went looking around central Indiana for a good meat market with decent prices and good food., Wow we were not disappointed at all.. the food has been great and the quality is very good and fresh. We got the moderately priced meat package and have been really happy so far., great store and great meats.Went back again for the third time to get another huge package of meat. This is probably the best quality meat I've found in anywhere around Indiana. Amazing deals and a great price. The people were always so friendly and so helpful.

Last 4 times I have been here I have gotten items that were expired. Fish over a year past date. Today I went in and got a cake that was expired chips taco shells. Other times I have broughten items to there attention. This place will make u sick if your not careful with your food. I have to check everything in my house now because idk what's from where and it seems more of there stuff is expired then not. When I called I was told theres no manager, no one to make accountable this is unacceptable as a food market. Especially one that is over priced

Love this store and the small town!!! The people at this store are absolutely wonderful and friendly. Im from Anderson and I've lived in Alexandria for over 15 years now. So different from Anderson because people want to get to know you. Everytime I go into this store they say hello and are very polite.

Horner's Market is without a doubt the best grocery store in Madison county, with regard to quality and cleanliness. The price point, in my opinion, is perfect but I haven't actually compared them with any other store. I was in the grocery business from the age of 13 to 17 and in retail after that so I could tell the second I walk in the place that it's above par. Then after walking the store and eating the fresh meats and produce I love it. Not to mention if you are OCD like me you will love how near and faced the isles stay all the time. 😀

Very good place to go by your stuff they've got to live everything from good chicken eggs cereal meat counters they've got everything you want there it's a big sores got and it's more convenient sometimes going to the big stores so I have a very good experience every time I go out there I also sell my eggs out there it's called PJ's eggs they're all brown eggs and fresh eggs and then we charge $4 a dozen.

I like this grocery much better now that it has become a Horner's. We stop here twice a week for fountain pops after my kids karate practice. Don't do much grocery shopping, but we love the chicken & pizza hot made to order counters! Huge tenderloin sandwich for $5, can't beat it!

Very clean. This could be a 5 star grocery shopping experience for this small town. The staff could be a bit more friendly but it was my first time in this store not sure I’ll be back due to the unfriendly cashier.

So excited we have a local grocery store again! Right smack dab in the middle of town. Horner's has done an amazing job turning the former grocery store into a great place to shop again. If you are looking for a quick shopping trip or a full shopping trip the have everything you need. Staff members are very helpful and super friendly! Meat department has a great selection and the deli and fired chicken are worth stopping in and grabbing a bite to eat.

We moved to Alexandria in September and started going here, just to get a few things when we needed them for dinner. I really like it until I went in last week and found sausage party's on sale. It was a great deal so I grabbed a bag. Today o go to cook some and I noticed one of the sale stocked where the expectation date should be. The date under it was 5-10-18. This is disgusting that a store would cover up the date because they didn't manage rotating the product correctly in the first place. Honestly makes me question the meat case. Check the expectation dates of you go here.

I've had the opportunity to eat, well about anywhere. At any rate everywhere I've ever been, I found a place to buy meat. That's where Horner's is my spot to purchase my beef, chicken, or a great snack as he has some great food on premises. From chicken to pizza. I ask all my friends to participate in a place to purchase your meats, vegetables, and lots of food that lots of folks never have even heard of. Hey try it on for a great experience this place is hard to beat from Marion, Fairmount, Alexandria & Maybe Anderson. If we support a great place it seems to last longer.

If you like moldy produce and not a single employee wearing masks during a pandemic that has killed more than 600,000 people this is the place for you! I love this for small town USA, it's a great representation for the lack of compassion this small town has for others. But hey, they had signs that said to stay 6ft away from each other. They're openly acknowledging the pandemic exists but simply refusing to take action. How ridiculous :)

It is a clean and organized store but even more high priced than Harvest. For example no pork item should be over $3/lb. Meier will have baby back ribs at 2.99/lb. Buy 1 get 1 free. Spare ribs $1.49/lb.
