I've come to the point now. I actually have to make a decision whether to come back into speaking wiggly. Or never come here again. You know, your fried chicken and potat. Oes are good, but they're not that good that I have to sell them to myself. Why can't you not have someone running a register? Is that too much to ask for I beg you? Please don't make me have to make this choice. Put someone on a register.

It's just an average supermarket. Nothing special. The fresh produce section isn't very large, not one of my favorite stores but I will go there in a pinch. I will say, the chicken, the fried chicken, is the best. And price wise, still one of the most inexpensive chicken you can get anywhere.🤔

Before the Covid pandemic, this location regularly closed 15-20 minutes earlier than what their posted hours of operation state on both Google Maps and at the store itself. It's now 2021, I was really hoping the service desk would've provided me accurate information when I called on Saturday to verify store hours. The friendly female who answered told me they were closing at 9pm that night.Later that evening around 7pm, I called again just to confirm hours again before I drove there. My call went to voicemail, "Thanks for calling PW! We are open everyday from 7 am to 10 pm, yes everyday. Please press "0" to leave a message for our staff."I got there at 8:04 pm and was so frustrated 😞 when I saw the ⛓ on doors and the sign in picture. It really grinds my gears when a chain grocery store won't let customers know their actual hours of operation.

The meat here is always bad way before the expiration date. They change the dates a lot on the meat according to an employee I spoke with.

Buyer Beware! If you shop at this location make sure you check your receipt! Over 4 years they have consistently attempted to overcharge me for items they have on sale. They do NOT enter the sale prices into their system, so when you check out, your are charged the regular price. I attempted to buy a whole seedless watermelon on sale for $3.99 through the self-checkout. I was charged $5.99lb for a total of over $63.00! I asked for assistance and he deleted the charge and then reentered the item and the price came up at $5.99. I told him it was on sale for $3.99 and was told the price was "$5.99 all week". We checked the flyer and the watermelon was right on the upper section of the front page for $3.99, just as I told him. He and another woman there attempted to claim the problem occurred because I didn't use a rewards card. That is irrelevant. A rewards card is NOT required! The cherries I purchased for $1.99lb rang up at the correct price. This was 100% an error on their part and something that has happened to me repeatedly for over 4 years. Each time it has occurred they immediately refute what I have to say, and when they learn that I was telling the truth, they never apologize for making the false accusation I was not. Pathetic!!!I rarely shop there anymore because of this. It's difficult for me to believe they are not aware of this problem as it appears to be the standard practice here. Their customers should check their current and past receipts to see if they have also been overcharged. Don't trust them to charge you the sale price.

I only bought two things. I realized that one of the irems rung up $1 more than it was labeled. Unfortunately it was after I had processed the payment. I was then told I'd have to wait a half hour for the customer service person to return because he was working the regular checkout line. This was my first experience with Piggly Wiggly since they closed the store in Waukegan. SMH... really dissapointing. Can't say I'll be back. TBH I'd rather drive as far as Woodman's than have to deal with substandard (nonexistent) customer service. Shame... even Walmart has outperformed you this time!

The store personnel are very nice and helpful. But the cashiers, clerks have extremely bad hygiene! Honestly, they stink! One of them has all rotten teeth in his mouth and bad breath. Please have them brush, gargle and wash their hair and take a shower or wash off before they come to work! It’s offensive for others to smell your body odor. Also, the store could stand to be mopped, it doesn’t smell fresh at all. I don’t like patronizing the store for those reasons. Otherwise we’ve always shopped at the Pig, now not so much.

I am an avid grocery shopper. In fact, I love it! When I tell you I have been everywhere , I have been there :)This place is easily the worst grocery store i have ever been to.I base this on their service and food quality. They will not exchange anything without receipt.I bought some ribs, got home went to open and they smelled so rancid I had to return right away to switch. I don't know what I did to receipt but the package was still practically sealed and the said sell by date was still good but they would not exchange.Come to find out the other day they relabel the dates when items don't sell. An employee told me he got yelled at for tossing some bad meat and was told to relabel the date and sell it in freezer. The customer service is horrible. I was yelled at, told its my problem because I lost receipt. They did not want to give me the store manager name and info on when he would be available to call.Spend your money elsewhere. For your health and respectability go elsewhere. I used to love this place when I was young but over past 10 years they have fallen apart. They do not deserve the patronizing from the communities great citizens. We deserve better. Oh and this was not only incident.i have been denied exchanges more then once and yelled at by more then one front desk employee over past 10 years. It's my fault I kept going. Guess I let nostalgia get to me. But I did nothing to deserve the attitude and hostility.I promise I won't be back except for mega deal on non meat, deli, bakery items.

I normally don’t shop at Piggly Wiggly because I found their prices kind of high compared to other nearby grocery stores but yesterday, I was going to get a few gallons of distilled water because they have it on sale this week for $0.74 a gallon but they were all gone by the time I got there. I would probably shop there more often if they offer better pricing. I am only giving them 3 stars because I received good customer service from the girl who helped me on the self check-out line.

Old lady with blue hair refused to sell me alcohol because I had a vertical id. Hint hint... vertical id's can be over 21.

The only reason I shop at this store is because they are the only ones that sell Boars Head. It seems no matter what time I come in around 6:30pm, the deli has a 50/50 shot of being open. The last time I came in, the guy behind the counter was talking to a customer - sounded like a family member from the conversation. After waiting for them to finish I asked to purchase something - by this time it’s 6:45, and the guy shakes his head saying they already cleaned the slicers and could not fulfill my order. Ironically when I came in at 6:00pm a few days before and went to the deli, the manger said there had something to do with “chemicals” and someone called in sick that day so the deli closed. When I asked him what time the deli normally closes he told me 7:00pm. Apparently not

Since when do grocery stores only rely on their self checkout machines to get customers out the door? Nobody wants to walk in on a Saturday morning at 8am and scan 80 different items. Word to the wise, observe what your competition is doing. Jewel and Mariano’s both do have self checkout but notice how every checkout line with a human being is full. That is called the convenience of grocery shopping and earning repeat business from the same people. Meanwhile rainbow hair lady at the front desk is chatting it up with coworkers who could instead be checking out customers. 2 stars because I’ve been shopping here for years, might just change stores at this point.

Always compliment good customer service. Carol rang my order up in quick fashion. What nobody has done there in a long time is hand me my bags after completing the sale. Carol handed me my bags, said "thank you, have a nice evening." I really appreciated her gratitude. Keep her around, some of the other employees have poor customer service skills

Great prices and large variety for a small town store. Very good meat pricing and clean store. Very friendly staff and for my first time there, very impressed with the store. You could almost drive by it if you didn't know it was there. Better signage would be a big help...

Piggly Wiggly and this location is a family-owned and operated grocery store. The store is always clean and well-stocked. It has a great produce section as well as a great meat department. Their Deli is also very good. Many cold salad items as well as hot items The Piggly Wiggly does offer sales that have very good prices

This is easily the most depressing store I’ve been to and it was a Sunday.I will be surprised if this store stays open until the end of the year.9/10 meat items on sale are either frozen or previously frozen. Meat is cut all wrong to begin with. Produce section is small , freezers are not working the way they should. Store was virtually empty. Customers are pretty much cherry picking this place for weekly specials. Highly doubt anyone regularly shops here.I’m giving 3 stars cause it doesn’t even matter what I give at this point. This store cannot be saved.

I dont usually shop at this store, but with the baby formula shortage I found myself needing to stop in to see if they had formula. I tried stopping a lady with pink hair since I seen her behind the counter. I tried to say goodmorning to her and she just walked passed me without saying anything and tried to act as if I wasn't even there. So I said it a little louder and this time said Hi she stopped wouldn't even look me in my face and just told me to hold on. She rushed over to a Cashier to write something down then tried to act busy and walked further away to look at something so one of the people who weren't even working at the register asked me in Spanish if I needed something I told them I just wanted to know if you sell baby formula so finally the pink haired lady stopped and said well what kind are you looking for I told her the brand specific formula so she said we don't have that one we just have similac so I took a look at what they had and picked a different brand that I knew my child has had before then she said oh we don't except WIC at this store, so you can't pay for this with WIC. The way this woman treated me as a customer and made me feel like I was less then her because she is white and I am Latino is completely inappropriate definitely will be making a complaint to corporate for this unacceptable behavior. And unfortunately even after all of this I still bought the formula from this store.

Uggg. I definitely would suggest not shopping here. The prices are ridiculously high the selection is ridiculously low and honestly the quality is not that great. Their produce selection is a joke, the deli area is incredibly small and has a particular funky odor that just lingers. Make sure you check the dates on anything you buy especially anything that's not a commonly use item. They have a friendly staff, most of the time, but you can tell they're stretched thin. I don't think I've ever seen more than one register open.If it all possible take your shopping somewhere else, this should be your last resort out of absolute necessity.

They charge me 4 different items more then it was labeled and the young Latina short hair cashier got mad because she has to go check prices on top of that they have a lot expired items for months seems like they change prices on pos but not on the shelves

I shopped Piggly Wiggly today for the 1st time in 10 yrs. Not only were many sale items not stocked, but I was over charged for the on-sale soda I bought. Nan, the manager, failed to let me know the products did not all ring up on sale, even after I specifically told her I was concerned they wouldn’t. When I noticed the overcharge on my receipt at home I called the store and spoke with Nan. She said she didn’t know if she could do anything about it. So I went to the store, and the same woman told me it wasn’t her job to check prices for me. She said if she did that for everyone, she’d be there all day. She said she could not exchange the product or refund the overcharge. She insisted there was nothing she could do, and it wasn’t her job to do it anyway, that it was my responsibility as the customer to pay attention. I left my new rewards card with her, and I won’t be back.

Seems grossly overpriced 😳 more along the lines of jewel grocery store which is also way overpriced 😮. I like to compare what the employees are paid vs. what these places charge. Seeing if it remotely compares, It's a very interesting concept. The chicken strips for over $5 per pound sent me back to Lewis produce to purchase my meat supply, and I'm glad I did, baby back ribs for under $3 per pound 👍👍👍. Sunday rib day 🤗🤗🤗

They tend to be a bit more expensive than Jewel and not carry as many options for just about everything. Although I'm surprised that their booze prices are better than cardinal liquor store. Or Sheridan wine and spirits as I believe it is called now.

I find it hard to believe this grocery store chain recently received high marks from Consumer Reports. This location, at least, is the most uninspired grocery store I have seen. The prices were higher than any competitor - the Jewel in Zion is a far better choice. The selection of Bob's Red Mill products was pathetic. The only intriguing item we bought was a package of bakery dept. toffee cookies. Here are just a few price comparisons. Food Club 100% Apple Juice was on sale for $1.79 - we buy this everywhere else on sale for $1.00. Fiber One bars were insanely overpriced - when Meijer has a special buy any 5 mix and match sale, I can get these for $1.49! The Rock Star drinks were on sale at 3 for $4.00, but the normal price was $1.79. These are frequently on sale at Jewel for $1.00. The regular price for theater-sized candy was $1.49. You can buy these for $1.00 at Dollar Tree and just about every major grocery chain for $1.00 or less when they have sales. I am so glad I live in an area with many superior grocery store choices, but feel sorry for residents who don't.

The manager or supervisor was rude when I came in at 6:02am. She was rude and very unprofessional. I was asked by her how I entered the store. I told her the door was open and she responded saying that it doesn't give me the right to walk in and other rude remarks in front of the other employee. I felt as if I've done something wrong when all I was doing was coming into the store to purchase something. She could've asked me if I would give her a few minutes if she wasn't ready. Very rude and unprofessional.

Love this place. Awesome meats. But only go there when they have sales because the prices are a bit higher than other places unfortunately. The only downfall is that they don't seem to have enough cashiers and the ones they do have are just too slow!!

I shop multiple stores for my groceries, and will usually visit this store twice a month or more dependant on the weekly sales. However, this weeks sale seemed to be strangely absent of advertised products within the refrigerated meat and bacon section. I specifically visited twice, once on Saturday and again Sunday. Found what I wanted and got scammed on a mis-stocked cheese display. Sale sign was marked Schulsberg cheese 5.79 with 3 pound sliced American cheese below. Was charged 9.79 and when inquiring at the service desk, was told it was for string cheese, which was not in the case. Most of the staff is always friendly and courteous, however we have learned to avoid one specific cashier unless we have no choice. It is a good thing I didn't buy eggs today the way she slams items around.

Shorter brunette cashier with the glasses was very rude. Told me the card terminal was waiting on me when it said it was waiting on cashier and she was too busy up in someone else's conversation between the end of her register and the front door that she shouldn't have been snippy with me about paying attention to the card terminal and paying attention instead to what she is supposed to be doing.

Great local grocery store! We've been shopping The Pig for 25 years and it is a very nice, clean, grocery store. Especially convenient for those out- of- towners who are staying at the Country Inn & Suites while caring for family members at Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Zion. Friendly, privately owned and a pleasure to shop. Be sure to stop in and see them! Located at the far east end of 33rd Street in Zion, IL.

Couldn't and wouldn't tell me if there were croissants available in the bakery. "If we have some they're on the shelf" Well no duh I'm calling to check if you have some before I run in there in the rain. Nice customer service. So it's goodbye to you Piggly Wiggly, last few times there you've been out of everything I need.
