If the self checkout is going to be card only it's a massive waste of time and convenience. Why would I want to stand at the checkout lane with someone that has a conveyor belt filled with their groceries when I only have two or three items? This doesn't make sense. Prices are still reasonable and staff is still eager to help you. Store is clean and it is located in a great stop. Plenty of parking and food is always stocked. Staff is always putting in extra work and don't complain. Way to go guys!! 5 stars

I live shopping here but this past time I went I got strawberries and I seen a lot of molded ones on the shelf. I got a bag of spiral potato fries and I got home to make them only to find them completely rancid upon opening the bag, they were in the frozen section so I’m not sure how they got that way and they weren’t expired either. Going to have to get certain things from other stores from now on.

I bought beautiful vegetables and fruit, USA scallops, two types of wine and was pleased at the value for the money I paid. My wife regularly shops at the glitzy name brand grocery store. She's very disappointed with the quality of their produce and fruit. She supplements this by shopping at Target Stores. Aldi is a huge winner on many items - especially on store brand chips and snacks. They're less than half price!In this case, we get a lot more value from Aldi. The store in Wood River is clean and we'll-stocked. Aisles are free of clutter and displays blocking aisles. The workers are helpful and friendly and they have checkout cashiers always available! Areas surrounding the store are clean and free from litter. Why not shop at Aldi?

Got ready to check out and realized the self checkouts don't accept cash. There was no cashier in sight and I waited for a few minutes after finally walking out. I will be shopping at schnucks from now on.

They workers always wear masks and are polite and efficient. They have a great variety of reasonably priced, good quality products. The produce doesn't stay fresh for very long sometimes, but overall I enjoy shopping there.

Like many of the Aldi's around us I am very happy with this location in particular. I really love the selection here and I love that they have a big selection of not only dairy free options (goat cheese at this location) but also a nice selection of gluten free options as well. It's also always clean and tidy. The shelves are always stocked.Update: Since the new variant of COVID-19 is upon us the employees are now wearing masks again and I highly approve of this stance.Update 2: I still go to this one whenever possible because the reasons stated before. That, and the employees are always so nice and so are the other customers as well. It also always have their shelves stocked and full of goodies.

I love this place! Always fresh fruits and veggies. Meat selection is fantastic. I save a lot of money going here versus other places. The new remodel is very nice. The staff does an amazing job making sure everything is restocked and always friendly and willing to help. Thank you!

Very nice store. The layout is much better than the rest of them I've been too. It was very clean. And as always the prices are the best in town. My only concern was there was only one cashier but that girl was super fast and very pleasant.

Good place to get low cost grocery items. Be selective in the produce section because some of it tends to turn rather quickly. Canned goods, milk, and eggs are usually lower priced than nearby competitors. They also have some decent specialty items that are surprisingly good considering the price. They finally started accepting credits cards too.

This Aldi stays crazy busy, but the cashiers always keep the lines moving quickly and they are all friendly. I really like the cheeses, nuts, chocolate and their huge pizzas are a great value. My only complaint is I wish they would open at 6 am, for people who need things for breakfast or before work.

I visit this location every few weeks to stock up for my family of 6. Anywhere else it would be impossible to afford good quality food. Love Aldi's. Staff is friendly and helpful, prices are good, store is always clean.

This ALDI is great! Everyone in town goes here for the produce, even though there are 3 other grocery stores within 10 minutes of this one. The manager (Tom) and a few other associates know me by name, which is pretty cool. This place is, for the most part, always busy.

Wood river Aldi pickup is literally the BEST!Always done on time if not early, absolutely bare minimum wait as they bring it from the back to the jeep, safe staff always masked, and very thoughtful with bread and eggs! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ would always recommend!

This particular Aldi's in Wood River Illinois just doesn't have quite a good gluten free section. There is definitely gluten free items but not nearly as much as they carry in other stores like the Granite City location. I would like to see this location with a better variety of gluten-free items
