The store has friendly staff, but the inventory is limited when it comes to sailing gear. The corporate side seems to think they don’t need to cater to the sailing community. A very small section is dedicated to sailboats and hasn’t change in 20 years. The other thing I find is that West Marine corporate thinks they are a name brand. Sorry guys, you are not a brand name, so you shouldn’t be charging more for your label than the brand name next to your products. As a consumer it is an insult to think that we don’t know the difference. West Marine does not produce any of its labeled products , they are purchase from the actual manufacture, brand name companies. Wake up corporate! Smell the coffee, get off your high horse and know your customers.

I had a huge shopping list to outfit my sailboat for her maiden voyage. Mary Jo, Chris, Don and the rest of the team were super knowledgeable and helpful and always with a friendly smile. I put a massive online order in for in store pickup and everything went smoothly. They held my order at the store for a few weeks for me till I arrived in town. Mary Jo was also full or local advice on how to get our propane tank refilled and where to pick up things we couldn’t find at their store. We also needed to return a few items and it was hassle free. THANK YOU TO THE WEST MARINE WINTHROP HARBOR TEAM! I highly recommend visiting their store!

Good selection and prices were in line with other marine stores. Staff could have been a little more helpful. We were the only ones in the store and the salesperson didn't seem interested in helping. We would have spent more money if he had been willing to answer more of our questions. Ended up ordering three additional items from them online.

Have dealt with this store for years. Ross, MaryJo , and Chris do an awesome job. They know their stuff and their store inside out. If I need to order something, they call as soon as it arrives. Definitely a pleasure to work with. Excellent customer service for sure!

Everyone thinks Amazon is the best place to shop. Your either kidding yourself, or are lazy, you have drank the Amazon water. I purchased a hand held Marine radio for 30.00 cheaper at west marine. I was able to get my questions answered by the salesman and he also showed me another model and was able to help me decide which one was best for my use. And it was nice to be able to hold it in my hand and play with the buttons. Try doing that over the internet. I also was able to get a 5 year warranty,yes 5 years because a lot can happen in 5 years to a battery and still be cheaper than amazon. Great job west Marine for the product knowledge and helping me out and saving me 30% on a everyday price.

purchased a product that did not hold up for the repair and I went into the store explained what happened and they couldn't have been nicer....also directed me to another product that worked perfectly for the repair. VERY NICE to deal with and the location is very convenient for the boaters.

Store hours on Google listing stated that they open at 9:00am, hours posted on the door state that they open at 9:00am. However. They were closed at 9:30am when I drove up to get some needed boat parts to get my boat up and running. West Marine cannot be relied on for any essential boating needs.
