Great spot!Nice and level. Reasonable price. Propane fill. A great store with everything you may need....really delicious pickled goods and if you are a meat lover, then you gotta check out the Mennonite meat freezer that the farm right down the road keeps stocked inside the store. I'm snacking on the jalapeño- cheddar stuffed pork sausage. Crazy delicious!And the folks working the park: super friendly. A really relaxing spot to pull off the highway.

It's a nice little RV park, it's clean. The people are super cool. The prices are way more reasonable than what I found North in Mount Vernon.I like it here. They got chickens so I get to wake up to real roosters I'm from the city. For me, that's very cool.Safety: I've been in RV parks all over the country. It just feels safe. In warmer times, they have a pool kiddos play area clean restrooms an showers. Easy to spot on that night drive.

Lots of mature oak trees. Equals lots of squirrels. Our dogs loved watching squirrel TV. We enjoyed our stay too. Nice campgrounds, nice staff

Had a great time camping here. It's a regular spot for some of my family that live in Illinois, so we all meet here for the weekend. The spots are all gravel and pretty level. The bath house was very clean, I was very pleased!

Stopped for one night on our way home from Colorado with our travel trailer. Grounds were very clean and tidy, beautiful pool area and decent WIFI. Bathrooms and laundry area were very clean. Everyone was very friendly and would highly recommend.

This is a hidden gem. The tall trees provide wonderful shade. The park has done a beautiful job with landscaping (flowers everywhere!) and when a tree has to be cut, they carve the trunk into lovely sculptures. Very innovative and beautiful. Our site (#95?) was a back-in site in the rear of the campground. Water, electric, sewer all worked as they should. We camped at Whittington Woods Campground in a Motorhome.

Simply amazing. Stopped here for a quick overnight stay on the way to Louisville and this campground did not disappoint. The whole park is shaded with spacious flat/easy pull through spots. Beautiful, well maintained park with gracious hosts. Definitely recommend taking an evening walk around the park to see the wood cravings, ducks, chickens, garden and relax in the swing under the oak tree!

What a gem ! Owners & staff take wonderful care of the property. Sites are shady and good sized. We visited in late July. Owner even had fresh produce and eggs in the office for the taking.We enjoyed fresh eggs for breakfast : )The wooden carvings were beautiful and the pool was sparkling clean.Friendly staff, beautiful grounds, refreshing pool, and owners that share their extra produce/eggs. Amazing staff. Beautiful scenery and in have very unique campsites that has many sculptures made out of every tree that's been cut down. Would recommend it for more towards someone looking for a quiet and relaxing environment. All of our children loved it as well ages 6-16.

Beautiful well-maintained campground! Nice shaded level lots with picnic tables and fire rings. Only stayed one night as we were passing through but the staff made us feel like vip guests. Small store but sufficient. Our granddaughters enjoyed the pool too. There is a lot of road noise outside but not so noticeable in the camper. Took a business card so we can stay again sometime.

Love Whittington Woods! The campground is very nice and all the spots we have used are super level. Plenty of space and a nice trail to get in a walk or bike ride. The hosts are always super friendly. We come each year for the Southern Illinois Wine and Arts Festival.

An absolute gem!! In a wooded glen with tons of shade. Level gravel sites with full hookup pull through. A sparkling pool. Laundry on premises in an air conditioned building. Spacious clean showers. Personnel couldn't be nicer! Bonus, it's reasonable!!

We’re heading home to houston Tx and purposely took a route to stay at Whittington Woods. We stayed here a few years ago and loved it. Now it’s even better! The beautiful wood carvings, the flower planters, and even more chickens!Great place for families, immaculate, level sites with beautiful big trees. You can feel the love and care the owners put into it. It’s perfect!

This campground is outstanding! Meticulously maintained. Chickens, ducks, kitties roam about. Beautiful landscaping with raised garden beds. Very friendly owners. An interesting variety of jarred foods was available in the camp store/office — we’re trying the cheese-stuffed olives. A lot of rules, but in order to keep a campground as meticulously clean, it’s important for everyone to assist. Not sure we’ll be back in the area again, but for other campers, don’t miss this one!

We had a wonderful overnight stay. Although our stay was short we did take a walk to see the wood carvings and chickens. Some freeway sounds but didn't notice much in our camper.4star only because storm shelter? and closest bath to us were locked and hubby has a hard time walking up to the front building.

Easy access from I-57. Staff was very helpful and pleasant at check in as well as escorting and helping us backing into our site. The grounds are spacious and blanketed in a nice canopy of tall trees. Also the samples of new food items was a nice touch and quite tasty after our 7-hour drive.

We just left Whittington Woods Campground today after a 2 month stay. We can’t say enough about our wonderful time spent there. A very clean and well maintained campground. Lots of very mature oak and hickory nut trees. Fun to see the chickens and ducks wandering around. Eggs given away for free. A number of cats have made their home at the campground and are well cared for. The owners were very friendly as were the staff. We would recommend Whittington Woods to anyone. Very easy access from Hwy 57. Thank you to everyone at Whittington Woods Campground!!

Beautiful shaded park, with big pull thru full hook ups. Nice pool, lovely raised bed garden, all conveniently located just off the interstate. Only downside is no online reservation system, but sweet staff handles calls no problem. Will definetly remember this park on our next out west trip.

Beautiful setting, easy access from highway, full and partial shaded sites. Level, gravel sites makes set-up easy. Owners and camp hosts are the friendliest and most helpful people you've ever met! The free range chickens 🐔and ducks keep the bugs away and are a joy to watch.

What a delight after a 600 mile drive on an RV trip with a 4 and 6 year old for an overnight. The instant you pull in you see a well tended mixed garden, sunflowers taller than you can reach and a bench swing on a massive oak tree. On entry you are greeted by cheerful staff and the owners had a mound of surplus produce from their garden for hungry guest. Chunky chickens, happy ducks meandered the grounds taking opportunity to ambush bugs. No poultry mess or smell we noticed. We had an easy pull through in our 44 foot class A (site 5) pulling a 6 seater golf cart on a trailer. We played hide and seek in the mowed woods and then cooled off in the saltwater pool. All over you see tended plants and flowers in raised planters with a large potting station beside the office. Water pressure was great and the wifi was fine. This place is a gem and we would stay here again. It must take a staggering amount of labor to keep the grounds as nice and kept.

Our experience here was excellent. The owners are very friendly and the park is beautiful. The sites are level, spacious and sit among tall trees. There is a nice wooded area to walk, a dog park and cute wood carvings scattered throughout. Loved the chickens wandering around. We will be back.

The owners can’t make this any easier! This is a great stop for us driving from Arkansas to north Illinois. We’ve camped here for a few days to meet family halfway as well. Fair price easy directions after hours to campsite. Love this place! Beautiful chainsaw carvings!!

Let me first say we were on our way back from Florida and made this our stop on the way just for a quick night of sleeping. We arrived around 7:30 pm and left the next morning by 8. We called before arrival and the lady who answered was very helpful. When we arrived everything was as we discussed and the campsite was nice, level, and clean. The bath house was as clean as it gets! There are literally chickens and ducks walking around in the morning which was pretty cool. I would stay here for a weekend in the summer because there was a pool and seemed real nice. Definitely recommend.

Nothing else required but you and your family to make this a great stop. Dog park is very small but it allowed our German Shepherd to get in some zoomies! Ducks and chickens on the property were amusing to watch. Good value
