My Great Dane/Mastiff had Cherry eye. I was extremely nervous about this surgery. The staff was amazing, the Dr was very informative and did a phenomenal job. We drove an hour and a half and it was worth the time and money!!!!

Cannot say enough positive things about this place! From the front desk, to the vet technicians, to Dr. Wasserman the service was outstanding. The technicians were great with handling my dog and made sure he was comfortable, front desk gave an itemized breakdown of the surgery, and Dr. Wasserman gave a detailed walkthrough of the surgery and answered all questions thoroughly! Now three days post-op Casper is doing great and can see again! The office even sent a little get well gift which he loves! Without question I highly recommend this place!

Dr. Wasserman is phenomenal. On our first visit, he diagnosed our dog with blasto (after his primary vet missed the diagnosis) and quickly started the medication regimen, which he managed better than the internist that was supposed to manage this. He always takes the time to explain things to us, answer our questions, and it’s clear he truly cares about his patients. I give him all the credit for our dog being alive and well. Brittani, one of the techs we saw initially is super sweet and also really takes the time to explain everything and is super patient. Joanne is a joy. No matter how many times I call, she never makes me feel like a bother. She’s sweet and always gets back to me. She and the other staff are just amazing. I can’t recommend them enough.

I can’t compliment them enough! Everyone was so friendly and caring- I was super nervous because my cat’s eye was doing a thing, and the whole team was very attentive and kind. They took great care of my Rajah and even had his name on the welcome board as a new patient. It’s the little touches like that that shows me this place really cares!

My experience under such a stressful situation with my fur baby, was exceptional! From the warm welcome from the from staff, (Joanne was warm and welcoming ❤️), to Stephanie our tech who was so caring with being so patient with my ouchy Leo (who isn’t the easiest patient). But Dr Rowan was hands down spectacular! Very thorough, and explained options and treatment so clearly. I know my baby is in good hands🐾

My experience with this vet was not good at all! Very nice facility and friendly staff. Their prices are out of control though. Be prepared to spend some serious money when you visit them. The primary reason for the negative review though was the lack of compassion and no attempt to find a solution that would work for us financially. Once we questioned the $6000 surgery they were proposing the demeanor of the doctor and his resident assistant noticeably changed. Everything became dismissive and the visit ended quickly. NO treatment was given to my furry little friend but that 20 minute session of which the actual vet was only present for maybe 5 minutes and cost us $340. In summary this vet is in it for the money ONLY! If you want a vet that will partner with you and your pet this is NOT the place to bring them.

Needed to get my dog's eye seen - he was having a lot of trouble. It took a couple weeks to get an appointment, but when we got there the staff was more than helpful and accommodating. Follow-up appointment was easy and our Pug's eyes are in better shape!

Grateful for the way our dog was taken care of by the team - Dr Wasserman, Brittany and front desk staff were wonderful. Our dog had an entropion surgery in both eyes. Thank you for being so kind and careful with our fur baby family member.I read over some reviews here, and yes prices for animal procedures are high overall EVERYWHERE (especially with a specialty like eye care), but if you take into account the level of expertise needed to have proper anesthesia (if surgery is needed), up to date/maintained equipment, skill set that was learned (taking years with many sacrifices along the way) to successfully conduct treatment procedures and to keep the doors of the office open (overhead expenses), paying nurses and front desk staff salaries, pet care does cost significant amount of money. I don’t mean to disrespect anyone who made posts on pricing, I simply want to add a perspective understanding all factors to costs associated with eye care. Alternative of not doing the procedure is often worse for the animal’s and family’s quality of life, we went with CareCredit to finance for few years. As someone who is in human eye care, whenever I see comments on questioning amount for eye care cost, yet some people pay 100s of dollars for non healthcare maintenance items (like nails, highlights - multiple x per year), I do best to understand priorities but also want to emphasize it just doesn’t sit right with me when doctor’s skillset is valued to be worthy less than the costs of beauty services (after committing countless hours to studying, passing board exams and keeping commitment to best patient outcomes).

I called to get my puppy Beagle in due to she had had a second cherry eye surgery that had failed, from another veterinarian she could not even open her eye. They had told me I could come in at 1:45 and would have a wait. Was fine with that she had to get in. Then within Five minutes they called back and said could I bring her right in ! So I did ,Dr Wasserman and his technician were fantastic went over everything gave 2 options to me. So he gave he a local and went in to remove the stitches that were irritating her, when I picked her up she already looked better! Now she looks back to normal! Thank you So Much Dr. Wasserman and Team you are Fantastic!

We were at the Wheeling office for a follow-up visit. The staff is welcoming and friendly. Dr. Wasserman answered all of our questions, and went over any symptoms we should look for in the future. Highly recommend Eye Care for Animals!

Eye Care for Animals is a wonderfully welcoming environment with friendly, empathetic staff members and doctors. My golden, Juno, (7 years) needed eye surgery for some eyelashes inside her eyelid that were poking her in the cornea. They were very clear in their description of the issue, walking me through the procedure, and took such good care of her before, during, and after it was completed. We have a follow up appointment in a few weeks and I can confidently say both she and I are looking forward to it. Thanks so much for taking good care of my best friend!

This place is THE best eye care choice you could make for your pet. The doctors are skilled, friendly, and very caring. They ensured we received the best care for Delle, our great Dane who had a genetic disorder for her eyes which lead to needing surgery. At first we were worried, but soon after the healing began we knew Eye Care for Animals was the right choice. 10/10 would recommend and use services again if needed. Bonus: they sent a GetWellSoon stuffed frog toy to Delle a few weeks after she was recovering and she absolutely loves it. They are just the best.

Staff was nice and seemed thorough. I believe we got good care. What I’m having trouble with is the price they charge for their procedures. They took my dog back for a 15 minute procedure and charged $1300. Do your due diligence and compare pricing from other vets / ophthalmologist.

Dr Wasserman and Eye Care for Animals -Wheeling is the absolute best place to bring your pet for eye care. We appreciated in our initial meeting, hearing all of the steps we would need to take as well as if the cataract surgery didn’t go well, what that could also mean. Dr Wasserman accommodated our dog quickly and we were back onsite a week and a half later for surgery. All of the employees there are all top notch. Kind, caring, informative…all have been wonderful to work with. I cannot give high enough praise and our dog is enjoying having her sight back. If you need an eye specialist for your dog, look no further. We made the trip numerous times from Wisconsin and it was well worth it. For those reviews that complain about price, maybe get pet insurance. When you sign on to have a dog, you have to be prepared for curve balls. And, the pricing here is on par with other specialty clinics.

My daisy girl needed to have cryotherapy done for her eyes, and Dr Wasserman along with his assistant Elizabeth (unsure if it’s a nurse or tech) were great. My fiancé brought her in and said they were absolutely amazing. Not only did they take great care of our girl 🐶 but they sent her a toy via mail and a nice card! Amazing people and facility.

I’ve been having some trouble solving an eye and nose issue for my dog and called this place. They were able to book us faster than anyone else. When we got there my dog loved them and she usually get super nervous at vets. They understood my concerns and properly diagnosed my dog. After two days I saw an immediate improvement with my dog. I with I could use them as my regular veterinary care. They’re wonderful and can’t say enough good things about them

The staff at Eye Care for Animals is superb! Both locations, Chicago and Wheeling! The staff at their Chicago location did their best to get our pup, Milo, in right away! The staff referred us to their Wheeling location to ensure we Milo was able to be seen right away! Their team was kind and compassionate. Before I had phoned Eye Care for Animals I reached out to 3 other places (just googling) and all other places didn’t show any soure of urgency or care for our issue and just told me, “We can see him in 3 months..” Then I phoned Eye care for animals and I was so thankful for their professionalism! Dr. Wasserman was gentle with Milo and very friendly! His bedside manner was impeccable. His assistant, Ksenia was extremely helpful and super knowledgeable. They answered all my questions and showed empathy. The staff at the front were welcoming and set the tone. I was very impressed with their entire team! Even the Chicago staff!

They did a great job with my dog! He was miserable in one of his eyes! The Dr. Recommend to do a couple of treatments; he tried to safe his eye at first but, it didn’t work! So, he did remove his eye 👁️, for better life! Now, he is back again, so playful and lovely dog!

Our appointment was seamless. The ladies at the front desk were friendly and the office was super clean (no odors for pets going in and out which is awesome). The doctors were very informative and patient with our questions and worries. Our doggie got his eye procedure done the same day and was sent home with medicine and a post-op visit. Everything was affordable even without insurance and we even got a quote for our follow up visit. I highly recommend this office.

I visited this week for my cats eye exam. And Dr Wasserman and Dawn the tech were amazing with my kitty!! So gentle and kind and very informative and helpful. My cat was not traumatized after and they even had soothing music in the room for the pets to feel comfortable. It was an amazing visit after i have been traumatized myself by a vet experience before. Thank you Dr. Wasserman and Dawn for everything you did that day for us! This is the second time I've brought a pet to Eye Care for Animals at the recommendation of my veterinarian. My current pet suddenly lost his vision due to a medical conditionThe doctors and their assistants at Eye Care for Animals were kind, caring, patient and WONDERFUL at soothing my pet during the examination process. They spent more than ample time evaluating the situation and provided a clear, concise explanation of the problem and the recommended treatment. There was a little bit of a wait time before the examination, but aside from that, I was once again extremely impressed with this practice. I HIGHLY recommend them.
