Unprofessional groomer Stephanie & Stacy!! No one ever answers the phone for questions or comments but always asking to leave a damn tip!! Let me begin by first saying my dog has been going to this petco since we had her getting cut by Stephanie over a year!! I’m not sure what happened about 2 months ago when I dropped my dog off Stephanie was on lunch the other groomer was there telling me to walk around the store and shop Stephanie will be out shortly. I advised her I was running behind could I sign her in and leave her she’s getting the regular cut. We were about 10 mins early for her appointment. To make a long story short the groomer stacy told Stephanie I was being very mean to her and extremely rude! I never said anything wrong to this lady. However we just waited outside for Stephanie. After my dog was ready Stephanie called to say she’s done I said ok I’ll be there in 7 mins. Stephanie forgot to hang up the phone and was talking to the cashier about me saying she don’t understand how I could bring my dog 30 mins early, how I could be so rude and mean to stacy etc. Once I arrived they asked did I wanna leave a tip I said NO! Stephanie gave me my dog once she did I advised her I was on the phone the entire time and heard everything she said about me which was incorrect! Stephanie is very unprofessional and apparently Stacy is a liar! Wednesday my dog had another appointment with Stephanie she said she couldn’t take my dog because we were late. I had to reschedule another appointment and it was 3 months out! I contacted the supervisor Brooklyn no help!! I contacted cooperate also. I also made a post on all social media platforms about this. This is so wrong if you had a problem with me you should have never scheduled another appointment with my dog. I took my dog all the way to Chicago to a new groomer who did a fabulous job on her. Nice low hair cut, nail cut and filed for $45 verses $90 plus the tip I was paying Stephanie at petco!! Thanks for helping me save! My dog will never be back to this store and I’ll shop at petsmart for her food!!

You know, I understand the fear around large breeds. Because of the bad rap that PEOPLE have given them, but to work at Petco and work with dogs and not know how to handle them really upsets me. I feel like every year I’ve came to this Petco they give me and my dog a bad experience because of THEIR fear against my dog that they have automatically judged without even getting to know him. Had they (specifically the person who squeezed the life out of my dog) asked me or gotten to know my sweet Rex before aggressively handling him he would’ve known Rex is actually a giant sweet heart who loves meeting new people and getting pets and belly rubs. Do better Petco. Or don’t work with dogs if you can’t even properly handle them.I think I’m done traumatizing my dog and coming here for good.But seriously, learn how to handle anxious dogs period! I’m sure if someone you didn’t know just randomly started strangling you you wouldn’t be happy either. Don’t come here unless you want your dog to get choked out.

After reading so many great reviews about Ramona's work, I knew I had to bring my pup here. She is the sweetest, most caring lady I have ever met! Because my dog suffers from severe separation anxiety, he doesn't like being put in a crate after grooming. Luckily, Ramona will text me prior to his being done, so he won't have to wait too long. Even though she is always booked, she always finds a way to accommodate my dog! I highly recommend bringing your pup to her!!!In addition- I’d also like to highlight the amazing staff both on the floor & groomers. This is my go to for all dog needs (:

Having a good physician, dentist and mechanic is absolutely necessary, but having a good dog trainer and good pet store is equally important. Look no further then Petco in West Dundee and "Barbara" their excellent dog trainer. She truly is the dog whisperer and the dogs love her. She is also excellent at guiding you to the many dog foods available at this store. If you have a new dog in your household do yourself a favor and them by enrolling them in one of her many classes! Stop in or call.

I had a grooming appointment with Stephany. She was so unprofessional or maybe had a bad day but it showed. This appointment was booked a week in advance and when I arrived, she asked fir shot records, which I provided and then stated my dog needed other shots, rudely. She clearly didn't want to do her job. I had a horrible experience and I will NOT ever return for such treatment. I'll spend my bucks elsewhere.

Great staff works here anytime of the day that I happen to go. Extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Everything is clean and staff is kind, courteous, and ready to help. Great job by the staff!

Came at 6 o’clock to see the cats cause I was interested in buying one and there was 3 teenagers inside I guess they are volunteers and one was sitting infront of the door to get inside so I’m wondering how are we supposed to adopt a cat if you got one person sitting on the door and then when I went to ask the cashier about if we need appointments she told me that those people were volunteers and to ask them if I could go inside so now you got some teenagers gatekeeping me wanting to adopt a cat poor decisions make a time for adoption interaction only literally could of adopted a cat today but now I got someone sitting infront of the door and to top it off I have to ask for permission from some teenagers when I’m a grown adult. Super disappointed if you have hours of it being open 6-730 then we should be able to go inside to look at them. I would give this experience 0 stars if I could

Claire the pet grooming manager deny service to us due to feedbacks and complaints on previous services. As customers who pays a lot for services we have the right to give feedbacks if deemed necessary. Instead of diffusing the issue, Claire cancelled all our future appointments with out groomer Michelle because she cannot accept constructive criticism on when I put her in the spot seeing first hand on how they groom their pets (brushing teeth took them a minute just put the toothpaste and dab it on the teeth and done) to atleast coach her groomers to do what is asked of them especially if we are paying for the service and she started being offended and denied any services to us. We have been a customer and has the membership. Claire told us we can use that on any Petco but W.Dundee. WOW!!! This is the manager that Petco are hiring,no people skills and rude not open to feedback for improvement. Unbelievable, experience infact Petco’s service is not top notch but we support local businesses and this is the service and treatment we have received considering we recommend our neighbors to use Petco for their dogs needs. Word of mouth is huge so Petco needs to fix this issue cuz one employee can ruin your store’s reputation. Management needs to look into this and have Claire reprimanded on her actions.

We only come to pets Mart for their buffet of treats they offer, they have a wide variety of choices and my baby loves every single one! They’re charged by the pound and you can mix them in the bag. They also offer iced cookies for special occasions 😊

Horrible experience here. Dropped in to get some pill pocket treats for my dog around 530 on a Wednesday evening. When I walked in the only employee in sight was the dog groomer. No one even at the register. Couldn't find what I needed so I started looking around. Finally got the managers attention after several mins wandering around whom was sitting in the office. (And I assume could see me) She directs me to the item I need, but sadly the pill pockets were severely understocked. So time wasted.I also didn't like the fact that the parking lot is so pitch black dark that you can't even see your hand in front of your face. Never seen a store like this. If it wasn't for the streetlights on rt 31 you wouldn't be able to see AT ALL. Not even the Petco sign was illuminated. This is def an accident waiting to happen. Guess they can't afford to install some lights?? I'll be sure to stick with PetSmart and never go back to this location again.

Brought pups in for a quick clean up. Was told face, privates and paws would be cleaned up. They looked just the way I brought them in. Paid $25 per dog, reminded me why I dont bring them there for grooming.

I have a new rescue and attempted to trim his nails, it didn't go as hoped, so Petco to the rescue. Our first experience with little Louie went so well, soooooo well, that I needed to write a review. Our stylist was Aleksandra who was soooo sweet with him. I watched from the windows how caring, calming, effective she was with him. Every time he fussed, she would run his back side for a few seconds, you could see her calm energy transfer to him, then she'd continue... Poetry in motion.. So happy with the service!! Aleksandra, thank you for what you do, your skill is amazing, Louie and I are very grateful! 😇

Our dogs food is delivered to our house. We noticed a small hole in the bag, and decided to return it. The cashier was very polite and helpful with the return. We had our 90lb pitbull "Groot" with us, and felt very welcome. I would encourage the use of a muzzle depending on your dog. The store was clean and organized as well. Great staff!

I love the welcoming, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Shelves are always stocked and the store was clean and welcoming when I visited. Pet stores usually have lingering pet odors which can be nauseating, but this location smelled fresh and was a delightful shopping experience.

This is why Petco should not be selling animals! This Ball Python is 1) starving, 2) dehydrated, 3) severely stressed due to being kept with 2 other Ball Pythons all in the wrong conditions - temperature and humidity. I’ve heard the stories and now have seen it first hand. If you buy ANYTHING from Petco you are supporting animal abuse. After talking to the manager and even offering to help get this snake eating (I raise and breed Ball Pythons) I was told that there is nothing they can do and they could not allow me to feed the snake - even if it would save this snake. Boycot Petco - not just animals but everything they sell!

The personnel are well- informed regarding food and animal care products. In my case, my miniature dachshund recently had 12 teeth removed, including two teeth that were infected and abscessed. The girl I spoke with at Petco suggested the type of food I should buy until she recovered and could transition to a mixture of wet and dry food. I have always found the employees at that go to be patient and compassionate. Our pets are our babies, and they understand this.
