This is good location, difficult to compare with the one in Melrose, but I do like this one a bit better.■Parking is plentiful, dedicated lot■Staff are nice, rather helpful■Found some real good tools and containers■No military/first responder discount (Home Depot does)

I was in menards back on 10/21/23. Grabbed a can of paint and the lid was loose, spilled all over me and ruined my clothing. I’ve been going around and around with the firm that handles their claims Gallagher Bassett services and still no resolution. Time to file a small claims lawsuit.

Good selection and great prices. Staff is helpful but not necessarily knowledgeable. Unfortunately the lack of online reviews of their products means I avoid making major purchases here.

Normally we don't have any gripes. Today my husband grabbed this thin sheet of firing strip, it was like a scrap piece, even missing a corner. Listed at .69 There were no upc labels or stickers. Clerk "Sue" tried putting in the sz and other but couldn't get anything to come up .69. She didn't even bother to call someone to check the price. Ends up saying "well, I'm just putting in this" and it turned out to be .89. Not complaining of .20 cents difference but it's not the first time this clerk was a bit rude. She made us feel we were lying. The other time we encountered her, my husband was buying some 2×4s, he was turning the board to show the price code and she gets all goofy saying, "I've worked here a long time I know what the price is." She has a strange way of dealing with people. I usually give people a pass, just in case they may be having a bad day, but this appears to be like she needs an attitude check.Guess we'll be taking a quick pic of things that don't have prices. However, Menards needs to label the scrap and things so cashiers can check people out in orderly manner.

Get cheaper tools here, lumber is obviously only good for construction grade. Don’t really want to build furniture from it. Great rebate program get free stuff every once in a while(not always great quality)

I did not receive many of the rebates, it simply didn't come, without rebates, their product is pricier than home Depot or Lowe's, yesterday I went to buy plywood, 1/2 maple plywood was listed 89$, whereas as in Lowe's it was listed for 65, rebate or not, it just didn't cut it.

The service I have received so far from Menards is not even worth one star. I ordered a simple item from the construction material department. It had to be special ordered. When it arrived at the store and I was notified that I could come pick it up, when I saw the material I found that it was damaged. This was clearly visible to anyone who cared to look at the product. So I decided to reorder a replacement and when I received the email saying that the replacement had arrived at the store I went to pick it up and it was not at the store. And no one could find where the product was. Hours later they are still looking for the product. So I asked them to accommodate me by shipping it to my home. It is a long piece of material approximately 21 foot in length. I felt that free delivery to my home would be a reasonable request, but that request has been denied. The general manager at the West Chicago store has refused to make a simple delivery unless I pay for the delivery. Even though I've already made two failed attempts to pick up the material at the store they want me to make a third attempt with no assurance that the product will actually be there and not be damaged, or the wrong size, or the wrong color. All I'm asking for is that it be delivered to my home. The inconvenience of the first two trips has already cost me more than $100 of my time and now the manger wants me to pay Menards to have it delivered. They refuse to show me any consideration for the inconvenience they have caused.

Nick at the delivery department is unprofessional , rude and sarcastic. He will not try to help you unless his job gets easier. The guy picking up the extra material is unprofessional too. He told me to start picking up the wood pieces because that was not his job. Worse customer service ever!

Have building supplies, lumber, off brand tools, plumbing, hardware and seasonal items just like Home Depot, but of lessor quality. Use to have good seasonal sales via a weekly flier, but for past 3 years any sales have been mediocre at best.

The store manager has no sense to deal with a simple customer complaint. I bought several things, and requested the delivery service. When the things arrived they intended to leave them at the entrance of my house and not inside because according to them I had requested that it be so. They NEVER gave me the option to pay extra to leave it inside my house (2 meters more) and I had to do it on my own. When speaking with the alleged STORE MANAGER, he gave me part of the blame, alluding to a lack of communication on both sides. As if I were a fortune teller to know that they were giving me a service that was inadequate for my needs. It is the last straw that other workers in the store behave so professionally with the customer that it ends up embarrassing the work of the STORE MANAGER.

They don't seem to care any more. Picked up bundle of sign posts out of many (each bundle held together tightly with several very thick cable ties). Went to register and they tried charging me for individual post. Tried to speak with manager who claimed he was store manager, but just got attitude it wasn't his fault and it wasn't being sold as a bundle (despite the fact that it clearly was, no customer would have anything in them that could separate it even if they wanted to). Asked why they were selling them as a bundle then charging individually, more attitude. Asked how they expected customers to separate them... More attitude, it's not his problem you know...

They constantly don't have certain things you need so you end up having to go somewhere else to finish certain projects and their wood looks like it's ready for a burn pile not construction.The employees are pretty nice but don't really know much to help with choices(excluding paint where they are trained to upsell).

I purchased online several 18' long deck boards. Online stock showed 4 times the amount I purchased. When I went to pick those up, surprised to see only about 20 on shelf and hardly 8 usable ones. But staff were very nice and helpful. Would shop there again, but will skip buying anything online for store pickup.

Had everything I needed for a drainage job. Convenient that I can make a parts list online that I can use when I shop. Employee that I asked for location of drain pipes took me outside to where they were, helped me carry them in, and secured them with plastic to make them easier to transport. Great experience!

Just thought of sharing this feedback here thinking it helps. You 11% off rebate sucks. There is no online way to claim a rebate. You guys still use paper rebate and the process to get the rebate is super time consuming. Learn from other stores and get it better or it may affect badly. This is not just for this specific store. This is for the whole program

The store has many knowledgeable employees in every department. I was greeted as I walked by customer service. Overall, always has a wide selection of products for any project. However, a minor issue with pricing at checkout. A manager named Cynthia was called to the register to change the price. The difference was less than $2 she made it a complicated transaction. Other than that a good experience.

Purchased a craftsman v20 light from this location because it was in stock even though it was 30 mins. from my house. Purchased it online fir pickup. When I arrived, the box that they gave me was an open box item. I did not realize it until I got home and the inside of the box had “display” written on the inside. The product was also clearly damaged when I looked at it. When I called to report the problem, the pick up manager and store manager stated I was out of luck. They would do nothing for me, but I could return the item if I like. Then stated there was one more box on the shelf that the staff did not pull and if I wanted too I could drive back with no guarantee on that item. I could not believe they would not help me or take care of me when they were clearly dishonest!! I spent 2 hours of my day trying to address this mistake by the store. Very upset with the poor customer service and the staff at the store being ok to waste my time.

I always find what I need at any menards store I visit, they have a great selection and everything is very well laid out. I needed some things for my fireplace and they had everything I needed and much more, I also saved extra money with their 11% rebate on every item! The staff is knowledgeable, the store is clean and well stocked, I go here more than any other home improvement store!

Was at this store on 11/15 around 2pm. Sheila was our chaser, she was very rude and eager for us to move along so she can get back to being on her phone. After the elderly person asked her a question Sheilas response was very rude " I don't know where you can get that, your total is x.xx$" the elderly person gave Sheila the money in her hand and Sheila slammed her change on the counter and pulled out her phone to text emmedietly . Very very unprofessional and perhaps management should have to retrain her on costumer service. We always go to this store but they left a very bitter taste.

Getting little better with always assuming that everyone's out to steal. I actually didn't have to return my items this time. Yep I said it. Last time I was in the box 📦 had bunch of goodies, I was being hawlkedas if my shirt said ( I'm here to steal ) unfortunately I didn't return items to their original locations. Left all at check out and walked away. That was 5 years ago. Been ordering online since. Only going to home depot if absolutely necessary. Nevertheless todsy they got a 350 dollar sale and I got some goods.

Went in to find discounted item with reasonable amount in stock. Staff was unwilling to assist with finding discounted item. Manager advised employee that they were probably not in stock. Placed online pickup order for discounted item and, voila!, items were available to pickup. Thank you for the order pickup team for taking the time in finding my items.
