Quick fast and HONEST service. Visited many car shops but this is the first to what I feel was the most honest service I've ever received. Well, my car wouldn't start and turns out it was just the battery disconnected. This did not turn out to be a money grab for I was only charged $99 for diagnostics when majority would have created some other type of fee resulting in hundreds of dollars more. Shout out to Pep Boys. Duly noted.

I had an alignment yesterday (3/13)Upon leaving the shop after alignment is completed, steering wheel is way off. Maybe above 5 degrees.If I hold the steering wheel straight, the car goes to the left, it’s very distracting and super annoying, and I feel like an idiot driving with it.Did your technicians not do a test drive after alignment? If so then why did you not tell me anything? You actually gave me problems I never had before I let you touch my car.But let’s not forget that 3 days ago, your technician damaged my rim when I took my car in to get my tires checked. I gave you another chance because one of the managers offered me a deal for a lifetime alignment which I am grateful for.Today (3/14), I came back to your shop to try and get my issues resolved. I came at 8am to drop the car off and they told me that the car should be ready by 10:30am. 10:30 has passed and I called the shop to follow up. They told me that the technician could not get into the car’s “service mode” and therefore needed my passcode for access. So I gave them what they needed hoping that this would be resolved once and for all. It is now noon and I am frustrated that they did not communicate with me sooner or even yesterday when they performed the alignment, it could have saved us both time and I would not have had to come to your shop early morning on a rainy day with my 1 yr old baby.As much as I wanted to support this shop because it’s close to my home and less expensive than going to the dealership, hoping you would take care of me but I have already wasted 4 days to deal with this. You don’t care and that’s how I feel.

Brought the car in for brake pads on April 29th 2024 at 1100am and here it is almost 7 hours later 648pmand the break pads are not put on. They telling me that one of the guys WAS STUCK WORKING ON ANOTHER CAR who's fault is that? Never coming here again

I do not recommend going here. I bought 4 tires from them and wanted to change it. I waited 3.5 hours and they did not change the tires because they could not unscrew one bolt on the wheel. Professionals 😡😡😡But that's not all, I took the tires and wanted to change them at another service and it turned out that I don't have brakes. I called the police and I'm waiting Waukegan police more than hour 😃 Excellent service

Terrible service!! Went there twice with the same vehicle. The first time I paid to get my vehicle towed to them and explained to them that my vehicle doesn't start and it needs the starter replaced. They completely forgot my vehicle and if I hadn't call at 5pm I wouldn't have known what happen. The cashier said she went to lunch and she forgot to mention that I brought my vehicle in that's why they didn't work on it. The next day I called and they said they will look at my vehicle first thing and by 5pm again they were wrapping things up. I paid almost $2000 and after 2 months the vehicle still has the problem. I took it back today with 9am appointment and specifically said I need a new starter and an oil change. I called at 230 and they haven't done nothing to my vehicle because the mechanic doesn't think the starter is the issue and that it might be electrical or who knows what. If a customer goes in your store and asks you to do something on his vehicle your job is to render his request. My vehicle should have been done in 3 hours and now I have to wait because of their mistake again and have a hole day wasted!

I had a very good experience with replacing tires. They finished the job in a good amount of time. The employees were very nice friendly and joking. The price for an alignment was cheaper than what i was expecting.

I came in for a wheel bearing replacement. I had taken my truck to car-x for the same repair; however to my surprise I came to find out car-x never completed the repair and left numerous tool marks showing the mess they left. Gamaliel, the tech assigned to my car, went above and beyond to show me exactly what the other shop did. This experience has made me a loyal PepBoys customer for life. The manager was helpful and knocked a bit off the bill, to alleviate the headache of the situation. You guys rock! Thanks, again!

🤠🤗🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟I've never had a problem with Pep Boys, sometimes they're not the least expensive, sometimes they are the most expensive. I will say that you can Dicker with price, especially if you know what you're talking about. Their work is warrantied and so are the parts, keep your receipts.🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟I have to say, Brian over at the Waukegan store is the person that has the knowledge and wherewithal to solve problems which present themselves there. upper management would be wise to take advantage of his abilities to make the operation run smoother, some of the people don't have the temperament to do what he does.

Mike is awesome. Phones were ringing off the hook, customers coming in non stop, he still took the time to speak to my credit card customer agent to help get my payment straight. Plus helping everyone else all by himself

I went to this pepboys to replace my headlight and they wanted to sell me the light bulb for $295 and I find the same light bulb for $112 in auto zone and they wanted to charge me $400 for labor and I find another mechanic that only charge $150. Pep boys total charge was $695 another shop total $262 a difference of $433. This pepboys are extremely overcharging customers for service I do not recommend this place.

620 s Green Bay rd.Sometimes they have good decent deals. I’m buying 2 cooper adventurer h/t tires for $111 each so it’s not bad. 3 stars just because I just came and the guy at the service center (white shirt) went to sell me some tires the same ones that I seen were advertised online. I went in just to see if I could get a better deal and when I asked if there were any specials he said no. And he was selling me the tires for $148 and even when I showed him the tires were on the pep boys site he said that he couldn’t offer me that price unless I had a coupon code, but that was an “instant savings” deal so there were no coupon code.To summarize, 3 stars because when I was walking away because he couldn’t give me the price advertised he didn’t try to rectify the issue at all.

I'm still waiting to get back underneath my car I have a oil leak now since I took my car there Sunday to get an oil change it wasn't leaking when I took it there I haven't had time to get underneath my car to see what my problem is but if it continues to leak I will be taking it back there and expecting an explanation why it's leaking and I hope they help me out if not I will give them a very terrible rating otherwise they did a nice job for now

This is the second time I've been to this location for my car. The lady at the front named Debbie was such an angel! She was so communicative and informative and kept me updated about my car. When I first arrived I was crying about my car and Debbie was very kind and gave me kleenex. They really take care of you here. They also found an issue with my car that a different auto shop did incorrectly. Definitely will be bringing my car back here again!

Wonderful service and very kind costumer service!! We were looking to buy a used car from just down the road from Pep Boys so we had Pep Boys be our 3rd party inspection and they found both front and back tire rotors and brake pads were shot! We were thankfully for their honest inspection and gave us better clarity on our decision to buy and bargain with their price! Highly recommend Pep Boys!

John Bosco was my tech, he was professional and took the time to walk the truck with me and show the issues to meThey broke down the repairs on my truck by what needs done now and what could wait. I brought PEP Boys a 2002 Honda Accord (200K miles) that badly needed tires and a Brake Job, without an appointment. They took me right in. I wasn't expecting much, post COVID to be honest. They finished the work sooner than I expected. I Walked away completed satisfied! They by far exceeded my expectations and I'm happy to say I've found a good shop and crew in the Waukegan location to maintain ALL my Vehicles. They hold my strongest recommendation! Nice people too!

Made an appointment for 6:30 and by 8pm (closing time) they still hadn't even touched my car. My car was finished 10 minutes past closing when all I needed was a flat tire repair which takes very little time. I also had an appointment! What's the point of appointments if you don't honor them?Also, they just threw my spare into my trunk rather than replacing it underneath the trunk mat. Probably because they were rushing when they realized they had forgotten about my car. The cherry on top is that I paid for this. America's Tire does flat repairs for free! Will never come to PepBoys again. Don't come here if you value your time.
