FRESH FRUITS AND VEGGIES!Awesome grocery store to visit for the purchase of fresh fruits and vegetables. Huge varieties of green leafy vegetables, Mexican and Asiavegetables. They offer a huge selection of tropical and seasonal fruits. They also offer gourmet cheese, meat and spices. They have a juice shop, bakery and a mini restaurant inside the store. They carry dry foods from different countries. Highly recommend Lewis Fresh Market to Indians looking for fresh fruits, vegetables and grocery. The staff members are friendly and helpful.

Buyer beware... I witnessed them repackage meat & the meat holding units were 73° 4 3-4 days straight, after they jus had them installed, alot of things I've bought from there for full price was either expired or a few days from expiring... good people, poor food quality... JUST WATCH WHAT U BUY, CHECK DATES & BE VIGILANT OF THEIR PRACTICES...

May not necessarily be the largest supermercado in Waukegan or Lake County but possibly the most popular as well as the most advertised by the local radio station.I will admit that for the most part when I'm in here, I primarily come here for the tacos in the back, formerly made up front which is where they make fresh juice.My wife who was born & raised in Honduras will stop in to shop from time to time but I'm definitely here once a week for some savory steak tacos.This place has everything you could ask for in a Latino market plus their produce dept reigns supreme. I definitely do love stopping over the bakery dept as well for some treats.I do wish the owner(s) continued success and prosperity heading into the holiday season, into a new year and beyond. Keep making them awesome tacos and I'll keep coming around for more!

We shop here frequently. The restaurant place in the back is great and the employees are very friendly, generally speaking. The reason for the three stars was for our visit on Friday. My wife had a bag with her, which is her purse, and she’d already been in and out of the store before she was stopped by the security guard. The security guard told her she had to leave her bag with customer service because it was too big. my wife spoke to the manager and he said that this is a policy to cut down on theft. The security guard did nothing wrong because he was following policy, however, there is nothing posted to say that you cannot bring a bag into the store. Obviously, if we knew that, my wife would’ve carry a smaller purse. Besides, what does too big even mean? So they need to have signs posted to say that you cannot bring bags into the store if that’s what they are going to do. The manager did not seem to take it seriously when that was mentioned to him. So we will come again , and my wife will still have a purse, I am sure, and we will see what they do. We’ll also see if they now have signs posted. It is such a subjective policy. I think it’s going to cause more problems than it’s worth. I understand about trying to cut down on theft, but that was handled poorly.

This place is the best, especially when your looking to get the best value for your money spent. The service is very helpful and sincerely friendly throughout the store. All the departments are great, especially the produce selection which is large with lots and lots to choose from at fantastic prices, even for organic. It has a really nice freshly made pastry area where you select your items and they wrap them. The hot bar and salad bar are the best deal anywhere with a large selection and great prices per pound. Wish I could have taken more photos but the store was full of customers because they have lots of items to choose from.🤗

This is a great place to shop for groceries and fruits, candies chops and also the low prices and great deals is just the start for this establishment. Lewis fresh market has a lot of fruits and vegetables you will definitely not find in any other basic U.S. grocery store, such as drinks fruits, vegetables and any other canned foods from Mexico, Latin america, the Caribbean and even the Middle east. And yes they have a great deli and fish market great hospitality at the deli....Enjoy shopping here I know I will!!!!

Talk about variety to taste & enjoy! This grocery store has a ton, with produce/seafood/bakery/deli/meat/hot ready to eat food & more. I tried taking more pictures but couldn't because the store was packed with customers, that's how you know when a store is good it will be packed with shoppers. 🛒 😋😄 The store was clean & employees were more helpful than the employees of Wal-Mart. 😉

🤠🤗🤩I love this store.This is the best store in the area for produce or meat. Their Seafood counter is amazing, fresh salmon fillets, the fish counter butcher will filet the salmon while you wait.✔️ Lunch meats and cheeses, to numerous to mention. ✔️Hopefully my photos will shine a light on a hidden Gem of a store.💎 The word Supermarket does not begin to describe the extensive ethnic items they have stocked.🏩 🎎Their prices for produce and meat and seafood are competitive with any store in the entire region. 🌄Their sale items on meats are amazingly low and usually a time for stocking up. Some of the Box items are more expensive but I usually don't go to Lewis fresh for boxed items. I go for their fresh items! You won't be disappointed by the selection and quality here.So, I had to add on to my review after the cafeteria has been opened, will be posting the pictures now, the breakfast on Saturday and Sunday mornings is tremendous, see Mr Torres, he's awesome!

This location is always packed no matter the time or day This market place is always congested. Employees are decent when asked for assistance but some of their cashiers could use a thing or two on how to properly treat customers aside from that their produce selection is one of the best in the Area not to mention their "Rest of The World" aisle where you find items from Vegemite to Indian Curry.

Lewis Fresh Market is cool, they have a variety of different cultures foods. Asian, Caribbean, Middle Eastern, African, and Hispanic. Enjoyed seeing fresh fruits, veggies, drinks, snacks, and all of the other unique products there that I've never seen before. Had a great time browsing each aisle. The cut up fruit cups at the entrance are delicious, had a mango one with tajin on it.

This place is great inside and out of the store, but there’s some kinks in its way. The food is hardly fresh checked unless a customer says something. I’ve bought lots of stuff from this place and has never had an issue myself, but it’s disgusting knowing there isn’t a routine check. On top of that, I have unfortunately bought 4 boxes of 16 drumsticks and they are $14 each. All 4 of them were freezer burnt, the first 2 were bought about a month and a half ago while I just bought the other 2 today. Even back when I tried to return the first 2, the manager or owner yelled at me claiming they weren’t frozen burnt and that he saw no problem with them. He eventually gave me the refund but told me I can’t return them anymore if I buy more and I claim they’re burnt again. Well, I decided to wait a little over a month to buy it again hoping the batch had been swapped out for some fresh ones. I bought 2 more boxes today, opened 1 box to try one out and it was freezer burnt. I already knew I couldn’t return that one since he already yelled at me for opening the first 2. So I went in with the unopened box and tried to return it, he then came out again and yelled at me, argued for 6 minutes calling me crazy and saying I’m “playing some game” and trying to get free ice cream or something. He budged for the 1 refund of the unopened box and then said I’m not allowed to buy those boxes ever again. This is utterly ridiculous. I’ve always loved the place, but I can’t handle a management that calls his customers crazy and then refuses a refund WITH PROOF. It just makes this place not worth it. Freaking unreal.

This grocery store is incredible. Everything you could possibly want, they have it all from fresh seafood to homemade pastries. We especially loved the tacos in the dining area, delicious! Fantastic deals on fresh fruit and ethnic foods. We will atop here every time we are in town

First of all, great prices on fruit and vegetables. Couldn’t believe the deals. Saving my family money, thank you!And second, they not only had the rare cut of meat I needed (picanha) but I only needed about half of the smallest package, which was 8-9 lbs. the deli worker opened it, gave me half, weighed and labeled and wrapped the packages and I was able to buy exactly what I needed.Great customer service, and a great product. Will definitely return.

Great place for fruits and veggies. They make up for their low prices on other items for example in the Asian aisle one can of baby mushrooms for $3.99 but if you goto a real asian store it's only $1.50 per can. Another example a pack of frozen Siao pao is $6.99 at asian stores but Lewis market sells it for $10.99 per pack. Don't get me wrong, I drive from Antioch to waukegan to shop, I love this place! I just think it can improve on prices on Asian food items.

Last week i grabbed multiple of these thinking it would be 1.49 each. The girl rang it up and it was $5 each. My boyfriend ended up buying all of those anyway after I told him not to. I wanted to complain to the manager, but he said asking for the manager would be such a hassle..Went back and they still have not changed the price.

I really love the variety of this store there are so many different sauces I never knew existed and I'm eager to try a lot of the stuff in the Asian section. The Oriental Store near me close down so I go here for some of my Oriental snacks and food that I want and I was so amazed when I walked in how much produce and the size of the produce. The employees were helpful everyone was friendly. I like to learn a lot about what's available to me and it's just really nice to browse a store cuz they have a little bit of everything when it comes to ethnic foods. It's also been hard to find rice crackers and there is not a H Mart near me and I feel like this place is the only place around here that sells them now. I'm excited to go back and try new things every time I go!

Way over priced and the employees are rude. They definitely take advantage of being one of few grocery stores in the area. I would really like for a different business to be here. This is the perfect example of a store that used to be good and then money takes over their mind and becomes the number one focus while forgetting what made them a trusted source in the community.

Discriminatory Bag PolicyI recently visited your store with my brother and was incredibly disappointed by the discriminatory treatment we experienced. Insane collection of green fresh vegetables. Good stock of Mexican and Indian food too, large variety of tofu available. One of the best fresh Mart around after Mariano's though it's not as expensive as Mariano's. Love going there every time. Very courteous staff. Highly recommend.Pro tip : keep some space for assorted mega cookies at the end if your shopping.
