Worst service in history. These so called “fast food” employees think they deserve to make more money but can’t even handle minimum work for more than minimum wages. We sat in the drive thru for almost 40 minutes for a simple strawberry blizzard. While waiting they walked 2 sundaes past us 3 cars back to people that had ordered 20 something minutes after us. How is this place still open?

Sat in the drive through for a half an hour for just one blizzard. While waiting for my item one of the workers walked out and went 3 cars behind us with two sundae’s. The wait was very unreasonable and the workers acted like it wasn’t a big deal when brought to their attention. I will definitely be taking my business elsewhere from now on.

TOTALY unimpressive. For thirty bucks, I got 2 very soggy hamburgers, 2 cold fries and 2 milkshakes that tasted like sandpaper. Plus I waited for 20 minutes to get ripped off. So much for having it my way. I wouldn't recommend this place if you was starving.

Back in the late 70's, 1970's that is, a girl I worked with down in Carbondale introduced me to one of my favorite treats, the chocolate-banana malt. Let me tell you that DQ made a terrific one that I have found it difficult to come close to at any other DQ's.However, within 20 or so miles of me there at least 5 or 6 DQ  locations that I have tried BUT NONE HAVE MATCHED consistently the DQ in Virden, Illinois!!Let me explain.For the most part the staff are teenagers, probably still in school (I usually come by this location on the way home after 8pm, or, occasionally I will have lunch there and a supper.)What makes this location standout are these young adults. I assume they are local, and I'm not faulting anyone else there who are older, it's just that as a group these "kids" (I'm in my late 60's) are some of the most genuine, caring and hard-working individuals you will ever have the fortune to meet.  And by God, they will create the best treats and other food items just the way you want them AND their attitudes are upbeat and positive.I just can't say enough about them. It's personal for me when it comes to service and the quality of what you order and they deliver!While I am not riding around on my Honda 350 and stopping by for my chocolate-banana malt like I did 43+ years ago , they make it seem like I am back at SIU-C and living life with a smile.Thank you Dairy Queen in Virden, Illinois for allowing me to not only harken back to a simpler time with good people who aren't angry AND putting a smile on my face while I savor the items I order from you.

Good food, very busy. They could make blizzards a lil faster though. I went out tonight and waited 20 mins to get 2 blizzards. My son got his ice cream cone finished before we got ours. It had melted in the bag by the time I got home. Kinda disappointed but I'd say over all good food

This is a decent Dairy Queen. The food is good and the staff is usually friendly. The main issue here is the extremely slow service. Their kitchen is rather small and their staff is mostly high-schoolers, so ordering a chicken strip basket is often a 20-minute or more wait. During a busy time, you just go somewhere else. On the plus side, we've never gotten a messed up order from here, which is saying something compared to most fast food places (especially the Hardee's down the street).

Should be 0 stars. Drive through &ordered the 2 for $5 chili dogs. Couldn’t understand intercom so drove around. Got to window and the old ‘Bitty’ (to put it nicely) charged full price x2 for dogs. I told her sign said 2 for $5. She looks at computer & said, no total is right. They need to get some help in there that can at least read the menu. It’ll be a LOOONG time before I go back.

Very disappointed. Gave us weird sauces with our orders. Had a chicken basket with no bread at all. They don't serve their signature sandwiches like the turkey blt. They just stopped and the French fries tasted like fish. So sounds like their not changing the oil. The rotisserie chicken is microscopic and only have 8 pieces. This is just a shame for the price they charge. Will only be going there for ice cream from now on.

The burger was good and fries as well very fresh. The wait wait for them longer than usual 10 minutes in the drive through with a cars ahead of us. Small town, young people figuring things out.

He was super polite and apologized for my wait (which was really not too long). The food was delicious. Just wish they would put a little more bbq sauce on the chicken to coat it all over.

Worst service I've ever received at a dairy queen. I went around 6pm or so, and waited over 15 minutes in the drive thru. All I got was a burger and fries. Would not recommend this location if you are in a rush or don't want to wait forever for your food. The food itself was good, but the service was terrible.

One 3 people in DQ and I waited over 25 min because the fries had to get made. My chicken sandwich was in the window for over 18 min. I got a refund and left. Never gave us our cups for soda or our blizzard while we were waiting. Did not wear gloves when handling other peoples blizzards and one guy keeps adjusting his hat and then touching the rim of every cup. Someone from public health needs to take a close look at this DQ. I will not be back!!!!

food was small portioned for the price. I know that it is a national franchise so it is what it is. ordered large rotisserie chicken bites ... maybe 8 bite. not even the size of a chicken breast. Should have taken a photo.

This DQ has friendly service and they bring your food out to your table. It's clean and still has the old style big windows in the front of the store. My kids love it!

Ordered a medium cup of ice cream and a medium dipped cone, at the window. She repeated our order back with chocolate ice cream. We clarified no chocolate ice cream. We want vanilla. We get to the window. She adks if we wanted chocolate ice cream with the dolped cone. No, we want vanilla. She looks into the store, turns back to us, says, she's already making it. Here comes a chocolate ice cream cone dipped in chocolate. Advised that we wanted vanilla. NP. She'll fix it. The cup was in a bag. Got it out. It is chocolate ice cream. Went inside to get vanilla. Girl at window keeps looking at me. I do not know this girl but it was almost as if she intended to mess up the order. Why did she let the other employee make the wrong cone and cup after we told her at the window that we did not want chocolate? Is she that ignorant? No common sense at all. She needs a serious chat with the manager.

Very slow service through the drive thru without any apology or explanation as to the cause of the delay. They just let me sit there at the window waiting quite a while and then abruptly shoved the bag out the window.

Food was good but service was extremely slow, there was a couple cars in the drive thru so we decided to go inside and get our food to go, there was what looked like a full staff, No one was in line ahead of us but it took almost 10 minutes to get waited on and and another 15 minutes to receive our order.
