Our hunting experience was amazing and absolutely a FIVE STAR rating! The main lodge was perfect, and all of the meals were excellent. The whole staff were so friendly and helpful with our entire experience. Samsons Mountain has the best whitetail population for the deer of your choice. Desiree provided us with great customer service and set us up for success. She provided us with three guides for our hunt and these guys were the best! The guides were Steve, Catfish, and Brad and they are very knowledgeable in all aspects of hunting. They were very patient with us and allowed us to take our time in search of our deer. Me and Dalton both harvested the deer of a lifetime! We will always remember this hunt and we are already making plans to come back! Thank you for everything!Scott Welch

Wow what an experience! Steve was awesome and I've never seen a guide work harder to make sure a client got the deer he wanted. Dusty and him are the type of guys you want to spend the day with. We went there planning on shooting 2 deer. One for my daughter and one for my daughter in-law. We ended up shooting 5.The tree house was a great place to stay. I arrived after dark, got settled in and was shocked at the awesome veiw in the morning, as the sun rose over the lake! Food and fellowship were great!We will be back next year and we are bringing more people.Keep up the good work!!

I don't hunt but I rented a cabin here for my family. I plan on coming back we loved staying here. The owner was very nice and down to earth. We enjoyed watching all the animals from our patio.

Great place beautiful country and giant bucks. Price is steep but If you have limited time to hunt or lack experience or knowledge about hunting they will put you on a big deer. High fenced trophy management at its finest.

I really enjoyed my stay and the experience here. Brad and Catfish are two outstanding guides. Everyone on the staff was friendly and professional. The accommodations are very nice. If you are looking for the “deer of a lifetime”, this is the place to go.

My husband and I have quite a bit of experience hunting all kinds of wild game, but we wanted to see what a high fence, whitetail hunt was like. Catfish & Brad were our guides & we had a blast with them. We live pretty far from here, so swapping hunting stories with these guys was awesome. The deer, sheep, elk, etc. here are incredibly fun to see & observe living in a natural habitat. High fence or not, these animals are wild, they rut & fight - it's not like anything I could have ever expected. We had so much fun - an experience you'll carry through a lifetime!!!

We took my 13 year old son on a white tail hunt at samsons mountain. We’ve been on numerous hunts all over several states and this was our favorite so far. The staff was amazing and definitely recommend this place to anyone. We look forward to going back next year.

Just made it home from a whitetail hunt. It was myself and one other person in our group. Everything about the place was FIVE STAR!! We had such a great time, staff went above and beyond for us. Guides were great, never pressured us to shoot or acted like we were being too selective. We also took advantage of the express taxidermy (harvested two buck at 11am/on the wall at 4pm) and highly impressed!!! Will definitely be back!! Thank you Samsons for the great time!!

My experience was awesome because I was hunting black buck and there not a easy animal to shoot l had to take a very difficult shot and my guide allowed it due to my hunting experience, the room's were very clean. Awesome experience thanks

Top notch....Gorgeous place! My niece had her wedding there and we had elk within 30 yards of where her wedding took place on the hill. The place was very clean. The reception hall was HUGE! I did look at some of the cabins on my way in and they looked quaint and cozy. I'm sure the hunting is just as spectacular!!!!! I would recommend anyone to have a wedding and reception there!

WOW! What an experience!!! This was our first visit to Samson’s Mountain and it certainly will not be the last. From the moment we entered I don’t think I could keep my jaw off of the floor, the cabins and the property are insanely gorgeous. It’s a little slice of heaven on earth! Open entering we were greeted by Amanda, she was so kind and helpful. She took us through the main cabin to show us around , then took us to our rooms and made sure we had everything that we needed. When it was our turn to go out our guides, Steve and Catfish were absolutely awesome!!!! We had so much fun with them, they truly made our experience a great one! When my husband got his deer Steve and Catfish were just as excited as we were as if we had all been friends our entire lives and we were celebrating together. They made our hunt extremely special. If you’re thinking about booking a hunt- DO IT!!!!! You won’t regret it! We can’t wait to get back there!!

Went here for a wedding. The place was gorgeous.A large lake with a large Forest it had a handful of cabins on the property. I also seen 3 of the cabins the wedding party had rented. The cabins were very inviting. They have Deer and Large Elk running around which the kids loved to watch them up close. I also noticed 2 albino baby elk or deer wasn't sure. Beautiful place to relax for the weekend with the family or that certain someone.

Just got home from spending the weekend at this amazing place for my son's 20th birthday. He and a few of his buddies did some fishing, exploring, and lots of hanging out. The host went above and beyond. Thank you for making his birthday getaway something he will never forget.

Samson's is such a gem in Southern Illinois! We had countless amazing experiences at the resort. We expected to just use it as a place to stay and head out to the parks but ended up falling in love with it. We spent much of our vacation swimming, kayaking, fishing and watching the beautiful wildlife on the property. Don't pass up the opportunity to stay here!!

The best place to hunt. My experience with Jerry and his staff was awesome. From the moment I called in November 2019 to book my deer hunt they have been very accommodating. My stay on the Mountain exceeded all expectations. My family and I were treated like Kings. I harvested a deer of a lifetime, his BC score was 199 5/8, he weighed 285 pounds, 22 points. I have already booked another hunt in November 2020. Jerry and the staff answered every question I had. I have stayed in contact with them and look forward to going back this Fall. This will be a annual trip. Call and book your hunt asap, experience it first hand, you will understand why I’m going back.

My daughter and I were set to Hunt but we received an email that said different info that we had purchased. I called and sent emails trying to figure out what the deal was because I did not want to drive across the country before I knew what to expect. I then received more incorrect info and horrible customer service from their manager Amanda. She was very rude and she treated me like I was a liar and told me they did not send me the email with the incorrect hunting info and all my personal info. So if they did not send it they either lost my info or their secure check out is not that secure. They did not offer to fix it issue or would she have the owner Jerry call me. My daughter and I were crushed and now I have to worry about my personal info being lost.
