So, I was making a long trip to another residence in a 22 ft Penske moving truck. I took the side road at night and entered with a heavy beam hanging there as a height restrictor. I found out later that it had 12 ft clearance. My moving truck was 12 ft 7 in high. This hanging beam lopped off the front corner of the truck. A moving truck!? There is no sign prevalent showing the height restriction except on the exit side, which you are not looking at when you enter. And it is not obvious even with that. On top of that, you're just coming off the road, and it's right there. No time to look around for a sign of clearance. Fortunately Penske was not upset since I bought liability insurance and the best part is... It did not RAIN or some of my items would have been damaged inside at the front. The only job of These Bars is to damage vehicles that come through. Why do I not give one star? It's because the support worker inside took my statement in detail it was very nice about it. The Walmart itself was fine . While we were outside, however, a semi came through the other entrance and was damaged. He told me that this is a regular occurrence. It's absolutely disgusting. Is it some law in illinois? Is it walmart? I don't know, but it needs to be stopped.

All kinds of goodies here Pharmacy Sporting Goods Tires Household items paint tools electronics groceries of course bathrooms clean inside Glasses store inside Hair Salon inside wheelchair accessible air conditioning and heat available inside year round also have wheelchair shopping buggies for disability people nice store several checkouts available Self Checkout available also and Cashier Checkouts

Why have self-service checkouts if they are not open? If you won't keep them open you need to hire people.I was in there to pick up some things and left with nothing because the one cashier that was working had a line that was out to the clothing and then curved around with another half a dozen people or so. The self-service checkouts at one end were closed and only half were open at the other end. The line for those was back into the bakery/produce section and starting down the main aisle. There were 4 workers just standing at the front behind the registers talking. I walked up to the service desk, which had no customers, and asked if they could check people out. I was told no, so I left my items and went to Walgreens. The Mt. Vernon Walmart is the worst one in the area. I would rather drive to Benton or Marion if I have to go to a Walmart.

Stopped by here to get a Tire, but unfortunately it was a special size and they didn't carry it. But the clerk was very helpful and told us we could probably get it a mile down the road at a store called Plaza Tire.

1-27-24 10:45 A.M.Asked Sheeri at self checkout how to scan a coupon. Her and Andrew were too busy talking to each other to come over and help. Of course, coupon wouldn't scan and I'm left there trying to figure it out.... as they're still standing there talking. I just left the product there and went to a different register. Very poor customer service.

Staff was courteous and helpful,, found everything I needed. And for the first time I found a fully functional electric cart without waiting forever. Something that I have never been able to understand is why a multi billion $ corporation. Cannot keep a charged electric cart for disabled customers. This is not once in a while...it is the norm to have to wait.

Was in town for Doc appointment and decided while in town to shop at Walmart. To my shock there was not one single cart inside the cart hold in the store. And the cart boy RICKY was playing on his cell phone at the door. There were elderly people having to walk back outside to get their own carts to bring inside. Hands down the worst Walmart in Southern Illinois

How is it OK to have 2 registers open and 3 self checkouts with lines across the store!!!! Absolutely disgusting!!! Do your employees not like working or do you just hate hour customers!!!! We shouldn't have to wait 30 minutes to spend money at your over priced store!!!!! Fire the manager asap!!!

Management sucks. I paid for my groceries and got a notification from my banking app that I paid. They said it didn't go through on their end. They made me call my bank and it went through on my part. They wouldn't let me leave with my groceries. I had to leave my cart and start all over. It was a complete waste of time. It could have been handled in a much better way.

I love this Walmart bc it's located right off the truck stop and that is convenient to me. The store is always clean, quiet with a helpful staff. If I'm in the area, I'ma make it a point to stop by here and stock up. Also, while u here, stop by the chillies nearby. No one wants to cook after shopping anyway and their food is legend

Mount Vernon Illinois wal mart had 4 lanes open with 15-20People in each line but refused to open any more self check out or live human register lanes . HORRIBLE WAL MARTB PART OF THE POWERS TO BE

This Walmart is the most unprofessional Walmart I've ever been to!! My husband and I visited this Walmart last Friday with our 2 small children one being extremely asthmatic. We got what we needed and headed to the 1 and only checkout they had an employee working. The line was extremely long as they only had 1 person checking customers out. My daughter started having an asthma attack so we headed straight to self-checkout to get out quickly. We had children's cough medicine which requires the customer to show an ID. My child was struggling to breathe as she has severe asthma attacks and was CURRENTLY having one. The only worker, an older woman with brown hair was attending the self-checkout. Every single customer we saw asked us if our daughter was okay. This woman instead of getting us out quickly told us to hold on and went to help a different customer as he had beer. She rudely told us to hold on. Then she proceeded to get into a deep conversation with the customer who had the beer she kept laughing and loudly carrying on. I then approached her for a 3rd time and she was irate that I interrupted her laughing and giggling so she walked as slow as she could while my child was coughing, and struggling for air. Once she finally helped us. I walked ahead with my daughter while my husband finished paying and here's where the BIG issue happened. The male Worker with short black hair AND A THIN PONYTAIL was standing by the north-end exit and entrance. He stopped my cart with my child in it and asked me for my receipt. I said my husband has it he got angry and said yeah, mhm, okay basically accusing me of lying. My husband then walked up and showed him the receipt. He violently grabbed it from his hand almost ripping it and my husband said okay you've seen it I've got to go now he refused to hand it back when he finally did we started out the door at this point I was fuming. As we exit the 1st set of doors I hear him yell out the door to the next customers he had stopped. He yelled, "Yeah some people have a hard time following the rules!". I yelled at him that it was unprofessional to talk bad about customers to another customer.

i've been shopping here since 2008 and never had any issues and is overall a great store it sells produce gaming stuff and so much more I 100% suggest swinging by any time you need groceries. oh and one more thing, the prices are perfect!

Easy access from Hucks/Flying J. Pretty laid back and everyone I came into contact with was nice. I left my hot food at the register and the cashier caught up to me and I appreciated that.

They use to have bench for us older folk to set down an rest they took them somewhere to add more stuff. To sell .two benches at pharmacy in a bad spot. But what do I know?

Walmart & Walmart.com have truly made shopping and pick-up and/or delivery of almost any product you could imagine. The Staff have been Helpful and attentive to both the customer's needs and their safety. This "Lady" exchanged one small item, then spent @ 17 minutes more checking out a cart half-full of items! Do you see this Lady?! DON'T BE THIS LADY!!

Has most of what one would need or want. The only real disappointment is as the seasons change most of the yard lights and garden things are moved to storage and Christmas ornaments are now in their place and have been for about a month nearly three months prior to Christmas.

Would give zero stars if possible. Now I remember why I always go to Benton Walmart had a book marked down and because of this I was able to get it for my daughter. Went to check out it did not ring in for the discounted price. When I called someone over to help me they ripped the sticker off said it’s not on sale and so I want it or not. I work in this line of work and I know in these situations you have to accommodate to the customer because it’s false advertising. I will never be back. Now you got my daughter crying and the attitude was uncalled for and to be so rude to me when I as any other customer would expected it to be the price it was shown retailed for.
