Just stopped in to get a few things there is a lot to pick from good prices in Mt Vernon IL at Big Lots . They are going to close in Carbondale IL so hope this one stays open or we won't have any around here.They do have everything you need and a lot of seasonal items. Gift Items are good to look for in this store. Rugs, clothes,food,gadgets, furniture ,kitchen goods,health needs, and more....

Great alternative to Walmart in Mt Vernon for toys, some household items, & gifts. Prefer Dollar General for some things because it’s closer to the edge of town. But Big lots has great employees & awesome seasonal. Mattress we purchased there was the perfect option for us.

Big Lots carries a bit of just about everything, and all at great prices. The staff is friendly and very helpful. They have an outstanding selection of furniture to fit every budget. I have bought a couch and loveseat, 2 mattress sets, and a bedroom suit from Big Lots. All these items seemed to be of a higher quality than the other local furniture stores, combined with much lower pricing. Their inventory is constantly changing, so stop in if you haven't been there for a while.

A lot of great products to choose from. It seems their inventory changes every year, so there is always something new to find.A nice array of furniture as well will some great customer service. Two associates in the furniture department named Terry or Andrew will help you find what you may need.

We had a great shopping experience until check out. We were the last customers in the store before closing and as we were walking to the doors to leave we realized we didn't get our military discount. So we turned and asked the checker about our discount and she hesitated and said we'll you are basically only getting your taxes paid. And we were like, yea ok. So will you have to rescan it all or what? And she said again well your only getting the taxes paid and kept discouraging us. She flat out did not want to do it. I understand it was closing but we just spent 200.00 in the stor and 20.00 back is better than nothing!!!! So we finally just left and wrote an email to the regional manager about what happened to us. So moral of this story and this store is one of the checkers doesn't like to do her job and surely doesn't respect our veterans!!!!

This location is always clean and organized well. It isn't a large BL but they do have a lot to offer in a really nice strip mall. The employees are friendly, engaging, and efficient at their posts. I enjoy shopping in this store.

I used to like Big Lots but the last few months I've gone in there it's a disaster. Half the shelves are empty, no prices on items that are there and I can never get any help. Check out is a joke. They need new management.

Have alot of different items that Wal Mart doesn't carry in stock.They also have a good selection of furniture and furnishings for the livingroom and kitchen.

The are no "lots" anymore. Just a bunch of super lows quality items specifically manufactured for these depressing stores. Caveat emptor - apples-to-apples comparisons of unit prices show that you will pay less for better quality merchandise elsewhere in town

Mt Vernon Big Lots had a nice set of Christmas tea gifts. Prices were lower than other large box stores.

Big Lots is kind of a weird store. It's not a store where you can make a shopping list and go and find everything on it. It's very hit and miss. Sometimea they have what you want and sometimes they don't. They have a lot of food items which is nice and do accept ebt. They have a lot of furniture and mattress but they do not deliver. It's a neat store but an inconvenient store at the same time.

I spent a large amount of money on a piece of furniture that, when brought home, was damaged. I contacted the store and was told the person to speak to was on vacation. I called several times after and was always told she wasn't there. I received no help and I won't shop there again.
