Very friendly and down to earth staff. Amanda the cook is fabulous. Debbie was very outgoing and attentive. Food was all fresh made to order and generous portions. Will most definitely be back and will bring some friends next time!Dietary restrictions: My wife has a mushroom allergy and they were able to fry in a separate fryer.

Stopped at Joy and Ed's after a hike at nearby Starved Rock. Pretty good mushroom burger on a brioche bun. Burger was cooked a little more well done than I like, but I didn't specify how I wanted it, so my bad. Creamy coleslaw was yummy. Fries were standard. They have other options like bar chips or sweet potatoe fries.

Just a basic home cooked Midwestern diner meal, and inexpensive, too. Definitely would choose this over any fast-food restaurant... except In-n-Out burgers, duh. Service was great!

Had an awesome lunch here with my young adult son. The Italian beef sandwich was absolutely delicious 😋! We both enjoyed a glass of cranberry juice. He had fries and I had tater tots. The atmosphere is very cozy. We thoroughly enjoyed our young, blonde server. She was both extremely cordial and beautiful which also made this a very pleasant experience!

This can't be made up, heard about a restaurant near Joy and Ed's some time ago was so while driving through town we decided to stop. It was 835 and they actually closed at 9, the place was filled with people, but guy at door said that they had closed the kitchen. Well we walked down the block and had a great meal at Joy and Ed's, theyvhad no problem serving us even though they also closed at 9. We'll here we are driving through Utica once again 6months later so let's stop and check out the original spot we had heard about. Sign said wait to be seated, numerous people were handled around the door waiting to be seated and there were plenty open seats inside and out. I finally asked when seeing no one move in over 10 minutes what's going on, she tells me there understaffed. Well good thing for that, we're chillin outside on a lovely night enjoying an awesome meal at Joy And Eds.

Decided to get takeout from here, food was made quickly and correctly. We both got burgers due to reviews and they were very good. We got an order of cheese curds as well and they were delicious, definitely recommend!

We had the worst experience with the bartender on burgoo now granted I No burgoo is busy but it is tradition for me to get a Bloody Mary or Joy and Ed’s every burgoo Iv been doing this for over 30 years and for her to ignore us and take people who walked up after us and when i ordered to be told you know they sell these outside I was beyond pissed and disappointed ☹️ I also know all the bars in the area sell Bloody Mary’s 🤬 I will definitely walk out if she is there ever again and the people I had with me from out of town said they would never go there !

We took our entire staff here after our team-building morning. The staff was friendly, very accommodating to our 30+ sized party. The food came out hot and fast and the service was amazing. We highly recommend Joy & Eds!

We were there for dinner with out of town family, and it was delightful. Nikki, our server was crazy good, and so much fun, she made the wait time painless. Food was delicious. We order carry out from here fairly often, but this was my first dine in experience.

Went to the Starved Rock Street Car Cruise Night and stopped at Joy & Ed's for some food. Our waitress was amazing and gave us a heads up that there would be a long wait for the kitchen. Even though they were very busy, all of the girls working were very friendly and attentive to our needs. I would definitely dine here again.

We went there for lunch with 5 adults and 7 youth ages 16-4. Their accommodations, service, friendliness, and menu choices met all our needs fantastically. Eventhough they were quite busy our server went above and beyond to attend to us all pleasantly and with an awesome smile 😍. I have always enjoyed coming here for family gatherings and will continue to do so 😊.

Went here after Starved Rock, probably a typical scenario. The staff was friendly enough but the food was very mediocre at best.My son got a hamburger which was very well done. Part of it was literally so hard he couldn’t bite through it. I laughed at him, took it, and sure enough he was right.I ordered a brat with sauerkraut and it was… well it was not good. Luke warm and no flavor at all to speak of.There are a lot of options in that area, would return to try another option. My son said the same.

Had nachos and a grilled cheese. The grilled cheese was great. The nachos looked like they tore up hamburger patties with their hand and were messy but tastes okay.The waitress was a bit inattentive despite the fact that we were the only people there for most of the time.We stopped into the restaurant and sat down hoping that the TV would have the Bears game on. They have a TV but we were told that they literally couldn't switch to another station because it was a Samsung TV. This makes no sense for about 4 different reasons - if you are going to have a TV make sure that it works and that you can show the most popular stations. The game wasn't on anything obscure.

Really nice waitress. The food was good (Wednesday fried chicken special) but not the Reuben…my boyfriend said it was the worst cut of corned beef he’s ever had. I had a little piece and it was so chewy that I couldn’t eat it. Other then that everything else was okay.

First time there for dinner and it was mediocre. Ruben sandwich was weak on the meat and the taco’s, “where’s the beef”. $24 would have gotten much more but had to try it once. Expect a quick snack and not a satisfying dinner.

Highly recommend!! If I lived anywhere near Utica, IL this place would be my local hangout. The environment was just...fun! Great vibe, good food, and amazing drinks. If you go on a day when Sally is working the bar you are in for a treat! Not only does she have an awesome personality but she knows how to make a good cocktail. Ask for the Sally Special, you won't be disappointed.

Our waitress was fantastic! Our food was great and good portions for a valued price. Way better burgers than high priced restaurants and less expensive, bigger, and better tasting by far over fast food! My future Son-in-law asked us to hide out in Starved Rock State Park as he was asking our daughter for marriage. It will be a day none of us will forget. Both sides' families were involved and we went to Joy & Ed's for a very nice casual lunch after. Thank you Joy & Ed's!

The food here was terrible. My girlfriend ordered a blt and the baccon was way overcooked and hard as a rock. I ordered a chicken wrap that cost 14 dollars and it was bland and small. The fries were plain and tasteless. I would never come here again. Not from Utica but try the other resteraunts nearby because they cant possibly be this bad. I almost never leave one star reviews but I felt compelled in this case due to my extreem disatifaction.
