It is not an exaggeration to say everything is good here. Nonies has the best breakfast in town. I highly recommend the Spicy Avacado Croissant, and the biscuits and gravy. Today I had their sausage breakfast sandwich on homemade biscuits for the first time and it was fantastic. You need to save room for a pastry because they have something different every week. If you want a pastry make sure you get there early because they sell out fast. Nonies has indoor and outdoor dinning. Nonies is a perfect place to either start or end your morning at Starved Rock. If these pictures and reviews do not make you hungry I do not know what will!Vegetarian options: Veggie scrambler is delicious.Wheelchair accessibility: They have a wheelchair ramp to get into the cafe.

Such a cute place for picking up pastries, lunch or dinner or everything! For being in the middle of a pandemic, it's sweet and unassuming little shop and eating place in Starved Rock area, it was a treat to have some baked goods and I tried the chicken bacon panini which is best eaten immediately and their croissant and apricot pastry was light, fluffy and delicious!

Thank goodness for google, because we stopped next door the day before going hiking and didn't even notice this cute little bakery. Came back this morning for breakfast and coffee. Very small place, but organized and well designed for through put. Simply the best and fluffiest quiche I've ever had, and my friends loved the biscuits and gravy. I was too full for any baked goods, but they did look amazing. Very friendly staff and they boasted about how everything is made in house.

Absolutely fantastic food! I had the breakfast panini and my wife had the breakfast BLT panini. My kids had the pancakes and a doughnut and everything was great! We definitely plan on coming here for the rest of our breakfasts and lunches while we are in the area!Updated: We did go here for lunch and breakfast the rest our trip. I had the Turkey Bacon Ranch Panini, my wife had the California Turkey Sandwich and my kids had the PB&J and Ham and Cheese Sandwich. Everything was great! Also, the people who work here were really friendly and polite each time we were here.

Had the turkey croissant and it was amazing! The portobello fries and blueberry latte were also very good. The iced latte had coffee ice cubes which were a nice touch

Good eats great environment. We ate or food outside and was delicious. Rootbeer float and a trail hike with a bag of barbecue kettle chips. My girlfriend had same with sour cream and onion kettle chips. My son had a chicken sandwich with fries and all was delicious!

Stopped in for breakfast after having passed Nonie's for years. The staff is so friendly and even ended up with some homemade bottles of chai for little gifts! Everything was quick, fresh, and yummy! Cheddar and herb bread was delicious!

I am editing to add a star. Iced latte has coffee ice cubes. Really.Good food, BLT on sour dough, crispy sweet potato fries. Beatiful veggies on the sandwich. Sweet staff. Adorable place. Huge cinnamon rolls! that appear to be quite popular - I did not try.. Many bakery items. Will come again and bring friends.

Nonie’s prepared one of the finest sandwiches I’ve ever been fortunate enough to try. And not just of the breakfast sandwich variety, I mean of any and all types of sandwich, be it hot, cold, for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.The croissant bun had a flaky and crisp exterior, yet was moist and spongy on the inside. Plus it did an excellent job retaining all the filling’s natural au jus, and having ordered the meat lovers croissant let’s just say there was au jus aplenty. Not to mention their sandwiches come with a side of freshly prepared tater tots making Nonie’s an incredible way to start the day.Now a great dish is but half the experience, and all too often those that prepare a quality dish can fall short in, or overlook aspects of, the establishment’s ambiance and decor. This could not be further from the truth with regards to the Bakery & Cafe Nonies. With a prominent outdoor patio and gazebo seating area that complements a set of warm and inviting interior dining rooms and nooks, there’s several different atmospheres available for one to enjoy their meal.

We were in town staying at the Lodge and googled breakfast places in the area. Nonie’s came up and it ticked all the right boxes, so we had to try it!So so good! My husband and I split the meat lovers croissant which I was hesitant because meat lovers options aren’t usually my go to. But it was so good! Just the right amount of meat.The biscuits and gravy are some of the best I’ve had.My husband loved that the coffee in his iced coffee was made out of coffee. Pretty cool idea.We split the key lime bar and it was very good.We’ll definitely be back. Plus the prices were good.

Corrected to be more precise: This restaurant was out of all donuts - all of them - not even one left - zero - at 9:30 AM. The eggs were ordered "over medium well" and were delivered cooked between "over easy" to "over medium". The food was served on paper plates with plastic forks and the taste of the food was so-so. To be more fair and precise, I will also add that the restaurant was decorated well and had indoor and outdoor seating in a very pleasant, calming, beautiful atmosphere of huge shade trees. We were excited when we walked in, but left disappointed. Sorry if this sounds harsh, but that was our experience.
