I took my bracelet in to get a loan. Usually if the professionalism is lacking and the store is not tidy I exit but, because of the reviews I decided to be open. Whomever was in the back was too busy to help the uneducated staff. The young lady said she'd have to do a scratch test to determine if the piece was authentic, which I've never experienced. Not only did she severely damage my property, she didn't know how to read the results. Told me my piece was gold plated. Knowing better I drove a mile away and received great service. Hopefully they will take better care of others property and train their staff on customer service and proper procedures. If I could give 0 stars I would.Update: My spirit tells me the owner has a pre typed response and doesn't care, otherwise he'd have assisted the confused worker. But in response to your reply:1.Organize your merchandise, if it's trash it should be outside, not on the floors.2. Train your staff to acknowledge customers when they enter and offer assistance.3. Train staff on procedures in a, each one teach one, manner therefore you're assured they retain the information.4. Update equipment. No-one wants to come in at obviously a trying time, surrender their property and have it scratched and stained during the process.5. Lead by example. When a customer is present, come out of the office, I'm sure a customer would feel truly appreciated if acknowledged by the owners.

horrible experience my mom passed away so my item got forfeited due to me not being able to pay on time but still was unable to get my money back. this place is a scam and does fraud left and right! never do business with these guys whatsoever!

Don't bother going to this place. Every time you go in there is a new person and they don't know what they are doing. I have brought my jewelry in several times in the past and gotten loans with absolutely no problems. Today not only did the guy behind the counter take an insane amount of time "analyzing" my jewelry he comes back to me and tells me it's fake. I told him to return my jewelry and I went to another pawn shop and git great service and a loan. My jewelry is not fake he just didn't know what he was doing.

So went here about a week ago. Bought a TV sound bar a watch a ring and laptop. Got home n realized the laptop didn't work. Took me to find some time to take it back seeing as I work like most people. Tried to take it back today and was told the sale was final. I spent 1000 $ the laptop was the cheapest thing I bought n only cost 50$. Didn't want my money back just wanted to exchange but was told no and to make matters worse the so called boss wouldn't even come out the office and have a conversation with me. Needless to say they have lost a customer but thanks to the staff that helped me that day finding everything I wanted. They were a great staff definitely needs better management 😡😡

Bought a mixer and didn't work returned the next day and they refunded my card and cancelled it saying the serial number didn't match. Thhatts a good one!!! Frauds and cheats. Avoid at all costs

Do not sell here. Leonard‘s or Gold Rush will have you out quicker than these people will even acknowledge your existence. 4.5 star average over 238 reviews is the farthest thing possible from what this store offers.Reviews are either fake, pulled from other stores in their franchise (there are 12 locations in total), or there was recent change in ownership of this location.Took 45 minutes and every employee in the building to get a quote on my camera, with nobody else in the store. Second visit took about 15 minutes before anybody acknowledged me, with only one other person in the store & several employees present. Again, take your business elsewhere.

The whole entire staff was extremely loud, just talking among themselves like no customers were in the shop, and looking at their phones from the second I walked in the door. Very unprofessional it took a couple minutes for anyone to even approach me to see what I needed with about 5 people on the floor. I took in a very nice item worth around $200, they offered me $25. I was shocked. It was is very good condition and had been in my family for years. I had a watch specialist look at it before hand and he said it's a very nice piece and hard to find the craftsmanship and functions nowadays on most modern watches and to hold onto it because of its value. I honestly felt disrespected by their extremely poor offer and horrible service. Needless to say I'm NEVER going to do business with them again.

On several occasions I have been in, and Skye who works there is the one I will only deal with. Super positive attitude, sweet, nice smile, generally very knowledgeable. I've gotten some great deals at this place, I do automotive mechanical work on the side and have saved a lot of money on professional grade tools and car audio equipment as well. Good selection of movies too!

The gentleman that is there in the morning is not a very pleasant person. He might be the owner and if he is then that would explain why there's not a lot of items in the store. The place looked a little empty but other than those little things I left a happy customer and was satisfied with the outcome.

Went in to sell a gold eagle 1 oz coin. Was told the best they could do was $1200 when the gold spot price is $1900. American eagles usually sell for $200 over spot price so no reason the top offer should be that low. Should not advertise that you pay the best prices for gold. I feel like the person was trying to scam. Go to d&g coins and they pay $60 under spot price

Found a stolen tool of my company here at Pawn King. They made me buy it back so they made a profit. Refusing my offer to pay them what they had into it. They then proceeded to tell me a business owner myself, how profit was important and they needed to be able to make a profit. I explained that being a business owner myself also means doing the right thing regardless of profit. Plus that the head manager was extremely rude.

Have never had a problem till these past couple days, when the manager Brian or brandon told me one thing and when showing up change the whole story to something else. Specially when I was trying to pawn a computer that I bought from the pawn store itself. Manager was very rude and tried to use a phone charger to charge a computer. Smh

I love The Pawn King in Urbana! Jovanah is amazing😊 She always gives the best customer service! I am a regular custome, this is the only Pawn Shop I go to because of the customer service. I've never had a bad experience. All of the staff are friendly which is very hard to find anymore. They are always fair on their pricing and work with you during hard times.

I’ve gone hear multiple times and sold and pawned a lot of electronics with them always had great service,came in today to sell a blue ray DVD player and a blue ray movie,waited in line for about 10 minutes for the lady to ring out a customer who brought in an Xbox and an Apple Watch ,then I step up and ask if I could sell my items and she reply’s we don’t take movies(signs all over the store giving prices for blue day movies and their bulk deals)so I ask well what about the blue ray player she looks at it for about two seconds doesn’t look up value or anything like everyone before her odes when I go there and says ten bucks.while I waiting I noticed a blue ray player like it mine a little bigger on their shelf for 89.99 ,will not be returning until the staff is better cause wow.

I came in on or around the 24th of May to trade in an old laptop and find some sort of a desktop for my growing writing business. Tony, one of the newer guys there, was INCREDIBLY helpful. He answered all of my questions and made it easy to find exactly what I was looking for. He ever helped me find the right cables for the desktop when, after initially leaving, I discovered I came home with the cords for a different HP desktop. Appreciate the level of hospitality, professionalism, and "A-1 service" I was provided with. Best pawn shop team in all of Champaign-Urbana! I WILL be back!

Ladies, if you are a deal hound like me and love things that sparkle, do yourself a favor and stop in here. I've found some amazing pieces to add to my jewelry collection for a fraction of retail(won't EVER pay retail again!)...Javona and her staff are always great to work with, willing to let you try things on and find the right item, and offer great terms if you want to do a layaway on something special. Huge shout out to Bianca and Javona for excellent customer service on my recent purchase of a *GORGEOUS* sapphire ring, a very pretty opal set in rose gold and diamonds, and a magnificent pair of gold and diamond earrings....I'm looking like Grandma Got-Rocks over here....what did I REALLY spend?
