So I guess a dog has to be out of their yard at the time you call or maybe killed one of my little dogs for animal control to come out. All I wanted was for the dog parents to be asked to please fix the fence so their big dog wouldn't keep getting out and possibly jump my fence and kill my little dog.

Generally incompetent, lazy, and irresponsible. After getting my pet vaccinated on time, paying the useless county registration fee, receiving the tag and receipt from animal control, and making a trip to animal control to clear up a naming issue with their records, which I had corrected last year as well, I received a notice to appear in court for not getting my pet vaccinated. I don't understand which piece of information they missed, but they missed a bunch of them. This is government incompetence at its best.This is the same cat that I adopted from taps after animal control couldn't treat an allergic reaction to his medication, after he was picked up as a stray.I'm sure there are some good people at animal control, and it is an emotionally draining job, but at least get the paper work right. That should be the easy part of the job.

These people are useless.We called to report stray cats and they have done nothing.They then threated to call the police on me for calling back to try and get them to do their job they then just chose not to answer at all.Whoever is in charge there is doing a terrible job and multiple animals in my neighborhood are dying or suffering because of their inability to follow-up on calls or catch and release feral cats.They also accused me of not having my cats up to date on their shots while ALL of my cats are inside cats that I have rescued from the neighborhood that animal control would have left to die.I don't know who funds them, but I hope their funding ceases to exist or someone who actually cares about animals is put in charge and a competent staff in put in place.We called our local police who is calling animal control and hopefully someone will step up for the sake of the animals.UPDATE:Tried to call and file a complaint. But was connected to another rude person with some serious deficiencies with manors.If she was the one in charge it's no wonder the rest of the staff is also so rude.They also said that the investigate everyone who calls in.They said that "feral cats were predators and said they wouldn't starve."But they are fine with letting them be hit by cars, injured and suffering, or ending up with rabies or other diseases but want to harass pet owners who take care of their pets.

GO TO TAPS!!!! Horrible place to deal with. After the payment and adoption was signed they gave me paper stating everything that had to be done in the next week or so. I called the vet and it was almost $200 worth of things they wanted done almost right away. I called to verify some things and asked if they had recommendations for a vet because of what they wanted done so quickly. The employee tried flipping the script that I couldn’t afford the dog and then wouldn’t let me adopt. Had to fight for my money back. Rude and unprofessional at best! We went elsewhere and got a wonderful dog from some awesome people.

Just adopted the parakeet Winter. Changed name a bit to Winter Belle. She is happy and chirping away in her new forever home. Also adding the people that work there are so very friendly.

They do so much for the animals that others abandon or don't care for. They make sure every animal in the county is up to date on shots and being taken care of PROPERLY. The director is kind and considerate of other people's feelings and situations. Be kind to others and they are kind to you. These bad reviews have back stories that aren't being told to make this shelter look bad when in reality they try their hardest to get the animals they do have into homes. Adopt don't shop.

Don't ever make the mistake that I did. I surrendered my cat to them, and not 24 hours later, wanted him back. This place upped the charges on me so bad that I couldn't afford to get him back. They are cruel and heartless and didn't care about my financial situation. In my opinion, they don't deserve a single star. They deserve negative ones. But I had to select one just to post this review.

Was charged $30 more than the price that was told to me in text to pick my cat up not angry having to spend money on my cat angry that I was told one amount and charged more than expected. Poor communication and the place really smelled I've been into many animal controls and shelters and this place was not very well taken care of

Honestly the ladys running the place are rude and unorganized. They couldn't find my papers from last time and were pretty rude. They denied having my dog at first. Finally got my dog back he came home and puked up a little bloody and mucas. Now he also has kennel cough and won't eat about anything. He will be taken to a vet and examined now. Please don't let your dogs sit here and make sure to get them back as fast as possible. Very sad to have a place ran like this.

Literally the worst place ever. If zero stars were an option that's what I would give them. Do not adopt from them I feel bad for the animals there. Everyone there are all heartless and don't care about the animals there they are only out to make every penny they can off of people! The director Libby is a witch and doesn't care for what's best for the animals like a director should. I really don't even know how she got the position!

We had a dog attack and kill our cat. Also, the dog attacked and killed a few other cats on the property. Animal control came promptly and took the animal off the premises.

Completely incompetent.We sent in a copy of our dogs rabies vaccine - with no tag delivery in weeks we called in and were told it was “lost”.We sent another copy. It’s been many more weeks, roughly a month and a half, and still nothing.Other reviewers are stating the same. Do your job

In 2015 a mobile vet from Peoria came to my house upon my request to see cat who was not well. I had used this vet in 2014 to see my dog who was having issues of walking.I was at work and the vet after seeing my cat asked if my dog was still living, my husband said yes. The vet wanted to see the dog and he said no there was nothing wrong with Aden and he did not need to be seen. The vets assistant called animal control.The animal control person came to my house and told me she needed to see my dog. What for, just because he had difficulty in walking.I was told by animal control I needed to get him put to sleep. What??, My dog and he was being cared for. I didn't do it. Next thing I know she shows up my work place with two tickets one for animal cruelty and the other for his shots being late. I had to go to court.What the heck was going on. My husband went to court for me, I could not get off work and because I didn't show I got a fine and conviction for animal cruelty and was forced to put my Aden to sleep. Karma will get them all one day. I hope I live and hear about it too.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!I just want to state how RUDE the customer service is here. Every year I go in and pay my three dogs rabies shot fees. Last year they messed up two of my dogs tags and I was getting cards in the mail and calls saying one of my dogs didn't get their rabies shot. I called in and they argued with me that my dog didn't get their shot even though I had paperwork stating that they did. They couldn't find my dogs when they should have been under my name, but some how they ended up under my parents name. This year I was late paying my fees (which NEVER HAPPENS) and the lady on the phone was absolutely rude. I understand I have to pay a fee but the lady was like well it could have been a $5 fee but you CHOSE not to come in and get a tag. EXCUSE ME I work 8-5 and then she said that I should have received an envelope from my vet (my vet is in Peoria, so I didn't get one), to which she said oh well you should have called us and we would have told you that you could have mailed it in. They are no help and my advice is to mail your stuff in and keep a record of it for sure, they are bound to mess up your records.

Rude people I called today about my pregnant dog an told them she has a appointment March 4 to get fixed cause I had to wait until she have her puppies February 26 an they told me she been adopted an is in good hands and token care of then laughed..my dog is healthy up to date in everything well cared for they tried to make is seem as if I didn’t take care of her. I’m not sure what to do about this also I just looked on the sight an it has my dog up there an says she’s available but again told me she wasn’t there🤬

I cannot believe the incompetence that this place allows to fester. A person employed to euthanize animals should still show those animals the utmost care and respect, this includes doing their job correctly and carefully. I cannot believe that you would hire people that are stupid enough to euthanize the wrong animal.You need to review your staff and rid yourself of those not worthy to work with animals.

I adopted a kitten from them about a week ago and it was a very easy process and the adoption fees are more than fair. The foster mom I dealt with was super sweet and gave us good advice. She also was honest with us about which kittens would and wouldn’t be good for my family with two small children. And it couldn’t have worked out better because our boy fit right in with our family from the moment he got home!

My first visit I thought maybe she was just having a bad day third fourth and fifth visit extremely rude and seems like she hates her job. Employees are completely and utterly incompetent! Not only did the employee not verify that he was killing the correct animal but apparently he or she doesn't know the difference between a white and gold dog! Furthermore, "we are reviewing our policies to make sure killing the wrong animal doesn't happen again," IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH! Disgusting!

Have to have exact address to send out an officer when I tell you my address which is three or four houses down and you want Me to go back by the house to see the address of a loose dog makes no sense I live on a dead end have to walk by there just send an officer out I called for a reason guess I have to resort to pepper spray so my dog don’t get attacked

What has happened here is truly disgusting. I hope they shut this place down. How do you euthanize the wrong dog and brush it off as a mistake? Euthanasia is something that should be taken extremely seriously. And through a heart stick? Is that even legal? How inhumane. Anyone that works with animals should have love and respect for them. They have no voice and rely on us as humans to care for them. It is just truly disturbing. My heart goes out to Moses’ family. I hope they get justice.

Hi! I tried getting ahold of you by calling and you never picked up and I even messaged on Facebook and you left me on read about an inquiry of a missing black cat. Turns out he was sadly ran over and the people who found them bless their hearts called and you told them to discard of him in the trash NOT to bury him cause obviously pets shouldn't be respected as members of our families we love. You didnt even try to do right by that poor pet or their owner. I'd understand if it was an opossum but this was a cat, a pet, and a member of someones family that you told someone to put in the trash. Truly disgraceful.

This place is a scam. They will charge 130 + to get your animal back if it runs off. Even if it has registration tags and phone number and address. If you refuse to pay them they put your dog up for adoption for $50-80. They would rather kill your dog or put it up for adoption. They hold your animal hostage and charge extra $13 a day that they have it, knowing most people would pay anything to get their animal back. I can understand a fee but it should be the same price as the adoption fee.

Most disrespectful people I’ve met. Someone let my dog off the leash. They charged me almost two hundred dollars and said they could care less our dog was still running at large. Then as we went to leave they said “oh yeah by the way you have until Monday to have your dog re vaccinated or you’ll have to go to court”.
