during a visit here to pick up a few odds and ends about a month ago i noticed that they offer knife sharpening. I have a vintage chicago cutlery 12" kitchen knife that I've been wanting sharpened so I brought it in. I believe the charge was $6.95. they use some laser guided hi-tech device but they weren't able to get it lined up properly so the machine wasn't able to complete the operation. nice try though.

Could be a great experience if you go during the week, clean and organized. Workers are usually quick to help you if you are looking for something never had any issues as I said, make sure you come on the weekdays when there’s never a line it gets extremely busy in here on the weekend

I like to support local businesses, rather than the big box stores. ACE has a great selection, and their prices are surprisingly competitive. Their staff is also much more knowledgeable and helpful than the big box stores. Reminds me of the local hardware store that I shopped 30 years ago, when I lived out east.

The staff there is pretty friendly and I've never had an issue.But their selection for a lot of items is pretty small. And their prices seem to be higher than local competition. So the choice to me seems to be 'go to one of the big competitors and get what you want for cheaper' or 'have a slightly better shopping experience but pay more for something that isn't quite what you want'.

What an awesome place! Bought a snow blower as a Christmas gift, did an online pickup, arrived Christmas eve AM, it's assembled and was too tall to fit in my little SUV. The group of college age guys was amazing, they disassembled the handle and bam all good. Love the manager too she's smart, funny and a big help, wouldn't let me give up until they had a solution. Hey one of those young guys even pitched a sale to several of the commentating customers 😄

These folks are the friendliest people around and so helpful! I went there to have a bunch of keys made on a Saturday morning and was treated like a king! Their service is unsurpassed and far exceeds any big box home improvement store. I highly recommend visiting this store for your hardware needs! They also repair window screens and have all types of services.

Can you believe the three employees that I encountered asked if they could help me find something. Major difference from those big box stores. They only had 2 of the 4 items I needed but were quick to call the other store in Orland Hills to see if they had what I was looking for. They didn't but offered to see about ordering them. Even with all the interactions I was out of the store in less then 15 minutes. I know I'll be shopping here more often.

Been shopping here for 30+ years. Needed an unusual light bulb...22 years and finally went out. They found it for me...all now working great. Still the old "Ace is the place with the helpful hardware man"...they know their stuff...key to me

Nothing like an old fashioned hardware store. The staff is extremely helpful. Today there were quite a few older folks in the store and they were handled with care. George helped my find an excellent product to clear a slow running drain. The ladies at the register were efficient and pleasant. I'm going back to get my screen repaired.

Went to this Ace to support local business. What a mistake. Purchased a Weber grill attracted by delivery and assembly. Took a week to schedule an in stock grill purchase. Was called and told delivery would be between noon and 4 pm. At 405 pm I'm talking to a store manager that has no idea if my grill even left the store. He says he will find out and call me back. Almost an hour later I have to call again to which I get a "I texted the driver he didn't answer, hold on I'll try calling him". Finally get a call back and told my grill will arrive sometime tonight as the driver is 30 miles away. Keep in mind I live 3 miles from the store. So a couple hours late the driver drops the grill on my drive way and takes off. My wife and I had to carry it to the backyard so be weary of the term "delivery". In reality this was my fault. If you are going to be treated like garbage might as well go to a big box store and save a few bucks for the same frustrations.

unfortunately i could not find 100% of what i needed. i could have been my lack of knowledge of the store layout though. but for what i can see. if you want something for your grill or paint. this is a place to go that was the biggest departments for this location. the store is one of the older ones and it is pretty small
