Great to see the roots and the story behind one of our greatest Presidents ever. Lots of artifacts, and the docent was very informative. It's a bit off the beaten path but worth the stop.

Great learning about a great president in the making. The guide was informative and fun to talk with. Displays and moment's from Reagan's boyhood plus a lot of things in the old bank. Museum shop had some great items.

Coming to this amazing National Historic Marker was such a beautiful experience. I remember reading about how Ronald Reagan impacted our economy when he was our 40th President. But to see where he was born and the beauty of a small taken such as Tampico, Illinois was superb. There are older buildings and a small gift store where Mr. Reagan was born, definitely worth the travel.

Not sure what we expected here, but the tour was interesting and informative. Our tour guide/docent was animated, knowledgeable, and clever; a "born and raised" Tampico resident. She pointed out numerous items in the jam-packed exhibit and gift shop rooms. The period-restored 2nd floor Reagan apartment appeared well set and maintained. The bank replica restoration on the first floor was fascinating. Free-will donations accepted. Please tip big; they could use it.

We had a very informative tour of President Regan's birth place and history of his boyhood home. On memorial day weekend, we should celebrate our patriotism and he was one of the greatest presidents of our time. Make your way to this tiny little piece of history, you will be surprised what you learn 🤓

I made my way to the small town of Tampico just to visit the Birthplace of Ronald Reagan. Tampico is a very small town and I was able to find parking right in front of the First National Bank Building where President Reagan was born in the second floor apartment. The birthplace and museum are open Monday - Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday's 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable not only about President Reagan but also the other historic building of historical significance. After a guided tour of the museum and the bank we were escorted up stairs to the apartment where President Reagan was born. While not of the furniture is original to the Reagans, the apartment is furnished with period pieces making it appear much as it did when the Reagans lived here. The complete tour of the museum, bank and apartment took a little over an hour. It was a very interesting tour and I highly recommend it if you find yourself anywhere close to Tampico.

Wish I had time to actually go through, but was limited on time, but glad I seen it. The little lady inside brought me out a pamphlet which was kind of her. Greatest President ever!

If you like history and admired President Ronald Reagan, you must stop by his birthplace. The history contained therein is amazing and to see how they preserved the living quarters and how the Reagan’s lived is extremely interesting.I had the sincere privilege to be guided through the store, museum and birthplace by Mrs. Sharon Sumner and she was an absolute delight. Her knowledge, enthusiasm and the details she knew was absolutely incredible. I thoroughly enjoyed talking to her and hearing her stories. I couldn’t be more pleased and thankful. This museum as privately run and owned by a gentleman from Chicago. Make sure to donate some money when you’re there and buy something so that this piece of history will go on for a very long time.I think you will enjoy it thoroughly. If you get a chance to, please stop by and tell Sharon that Mark from Arkansas said hi!Enjoy!

What a very awesome display for anyone who is a Ronald Reagan fan. (and even if you were not a fan, as he was once a Democrat too) They have an incredible collection of Reagan artifacts, and you can tell the town is very proud of him. Both the apartment and the bank downstairs have been skillfully restored, and the volunteer staff is extremely knowledgeable.I ended up seeing the sign on the freeway on my way from Colorado to Wisconsin, and so I planned extra time to stop on the way back. I'm glad I did. My dad and I both had a great time, and hopefully we will be back again in the future. I highly recommend stopping.

This was a little treasure that is under-rated! Me and my family loved learning about Ronald Reagan and seeing where he was born! The curator, Joan Johnson, was wonderful! She was very knowledgable and very patient with our family of a lot of kids! If you can, definitely stop by this neat place to gain some more knowledge on our 40th president.

What a great tribute to one of our most beloved and honored presidents. I think he'd be proud of the presentation put on by his home town in honor of his memory. Really nice to see the midwestern American story that began the life of the greatest leader of the free world in our lifetime. The small town values of strength and freedom are something that the rest of the world is envious of and the country should notice and be proud. Great legacy of a great man.

Great historical site! The site curator was extremely knowledgeable and kind. She had such a passion for the site and the Town of Tampico. The site was full of so many pictures and artifacts from President Reagan’s life, as well as the history of the town.

This is an incredible experience. The curator was very informed, pleasant and eager to please. This place is real America! It just oozes history. Donations to keep it going. If you go to the childhood home they charge you and it's not as good. A+++
