We had to say goodbye to our little min-pin Cocoa right before Easter. I have been taking my two senior dogs to Sugar Grove Animal Hospital for a few years now. We have seen most of the vets there. I have to say they are very compassionate, caring, and professional. They walked us through the entire process of saying goodbye. They gave her ice cream to enjoy prior to saying goodbye and we were able to comfort her right up to the end. As hard as it is I am thankful for the doctors and their staff. They are reasonable, caring and professional. You couldn't ask for more. It was the hardest thing you will ever have to do for your pet.Thank you all for taking such good care of our Cocoa girl and our Chasey girl.

I have been to so many vets and I’m so glad I found sugar Grove Animal Hospital and Dr. Robbins. Their prices are low, the staff is AMAZING, I never even get put on hold when I call. I highly recommend this place!!

Tried to get my dog in because he was dying. Wanted to see what was wrong and if he should be euthanized. They weren't taking walk-ins and it was the day after a winter storm. He died 5 hours later. I gave three stars because they were honest and had me go to another place that I didn't call because I knew it was probably going to be too late. Everything around where I lived was closed so I was willing to drive an hour away to try and put him out of his misery.

I wish we could give 1000 stars! The entire team at Sugar Grove Animal Hospital is incredible. We got our first puppy this fall and quickly realized he was sick. Dr. Kovalick and her team quickly took him in (less than 24 hours after we brought him home). He tested positive for parvo. Our dog, Max, was hospitalized there for a week. Dr. Kovalick, Dr. Jess, Dr. Lancaster, and several amazing techs all came in on their days off, weekends, and even overnight to provide care for Max. They always kept us in the loop with phone calls, videos, and pictures. After several scary days, he finally improved and was able to come home! In the following weeks, they continued to provide outstanding care in follow up appointments, calls and texts to check in, and running continuous tests to make sure he was continuing to improve. Max is now a happy and healthy 7 month old. We know he wouldn’t be here without Sugar Grove Animal Hospital and we will always recommend them! Everyone is treated like family and they truly care about every pet they see.

Top rate vet practice. All the staff are friendly and know their stuff. At the time of writing veterinarian are overwhelmed and often it takes a long time to get an appointment. Sugar Grove is the same but they seem to have a few slots for urgent cases as I’ve gotten in at short notice a couple of times. Our 19 year old cat suddenly was unable to stand and they got him in ASAP. Unfortunately we had to put him down which we knew would be the case. They handled it in a very loving way.Also I have noticed their office visits a about 10-18 % lower than other top rated vets. Vaccines and meds are the same ( btw try good rx for certain meds).Overall this is a special place.BTW if you need specialty care and a huge staff of specialty vets VCA aurora is only about 2 miles away. Huge corporate owned vet practice with every imaginable service. Expensive for sure ( my sis works there and you wouldn’t believe some of the bills people pay for their fur balls. This is the place to go 24/7 with urgent cases. Just bring your credit card!

I have been bringing my pups here for about a decade, my shih Tzu wasn’t eating or drinking was suspicious she had a blockage, Dr Keller personally called a local vet near me without me asking to see if they could get my pup in as they could not because they were too busy. First time I have taken my pups elsewhere in all these years. Was appreciative of the efforts, my only complaint would be I wish they wouldn’t take on new clients anymore if they don’t have room to get regulars in for important situations as we have always been able to get in in the past for more emergent situations same or next day which was nice, but regardless still give them 5 stars as deserved since I have been coming for so long and have so must trust and confidence in their handling of my past and current pups.

Been going here with three dogs. I had my tiny 16+ year old put down here as well. Dr. Lancaster is compassionate and was able to give her an extra 6 months of life when I thought she was a goner. Dr. Jess, Robbins, and Jebens are all great as well. I actually switched to Sugar Grove to follow Dr. Robbins, and we still love him, but have really clicked with Dr. Lancaster. I feel like they are also very affordable as far as vet care goes. And they don’t push a million vaccines at you. Just the basic ones and no guilting you into stuff your dogs doesn’t need.Only minor complaint, there is at least one tech who is pretty lazy and borderline dishonest about nail trims. I thought it was just a fluke, but ran into someone in my neighborhood who had the exact same experience. I don’t imagine this is a big deal to them as they probably don’t want to do nail trims anyways. Definitely save your time and money and find someone who cares about their reputation to do nail trims.

I have had three emergencies and was able to get my girls in right away. I even sent them a photo of a sore on my pup and the doctor called me the same day and told me what to do for her. I never have a long wait, the place is immaculate, the doctors are great. What more could a pet owner ask for........

I recently had to take my buddy of 16 years, our family pet Mugsy into the Sugar Grove Animal Hospital to be euthanized do to old age and a series of health issues. Dr.Jess and her assistant, whose name I can't recall, handled the situation with such great care,competency and compassion. I want to thank both of them and Dr. Robbins, Mugsy's lifelong vet, for their wonderful service. Very highly recommended!

Sugar Grove Animal Hospital is a phenomenal practice. We’ve been using them for just over a year for our two cats and Dalmatian who needs management for kidney stones. Dr. Robbins has put in extra time to help figure out our dog’s needs and has been a huge help. All the other vets that we’ve seen have also been great. Their prices are good and office staff/ vet techs are very friendly and helpful. I can’t recommend them enough!

I cannot express how grateful our family is to have the care of such amazing Veterinarians like Dr. Angela Kovalick and Dr. Jessica Szopinski for our 2 miniature dachshunds.The care, concern and love that they have provided, for Cooper and Lola, in the short amount of time that they have been patients at this facility is beyond words.Both Doctors have taken time out of their busy schedules to follow up regarding both dogs to see how they are doing, offer support and suggestions, but most of all the provided reassurance, reassurance that they are there for our pups, and our family whenever they are needed.The Sugar Grove Animal Hospital exceeds my expectations. I live in the city and I had half a dozen vets quote me at $1200+ for a cleaning with extractions. I was recommended Sugar Grove Animal Hospital and I am so glad I made the drive out! In total, the bloodwork, cleaning, and six extractions came out to less than half of what I was being quoted in the city. Plus, they take Care Credit which helped me manage the cost. They were great with my dog and very helpful with all my after care questions. They called to check up on her a few days later too. It was absolutely worth the drive and time. I would highly recommend them!

I took my dog to the vet that has seen her before. The dog was physically hurt and in pain. The vet refused to take care of her. I was told I had to make an appointment. I have never seen a vet act like that. If you love your animals never take them to this vet again.
