We had high hopes for butchering at Country Village Meats - but overall I would not do it again. I brought in 6 pigs. My meat that I received as the owner was great! Good flavor, well packaged. However, my customers had VERY different experiences. All of them felt the front lady was rude, especially for those ordering pork bulk for the first time. I felt the same when I went in. Also - they forgot to cure and smoke a good chunk of the bacon (even though it was marked as such). I tried it after we purchased it (within a week or 2) and it was gross.They also completely forgot to give one of my customers a good 40 lbs of meat, which they kept in the freezer for 6 months before they found it.I have used multiple butchers in the area of Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin, never had an experience quite like this.Ultimately, a few of my customers ended up taking their bacon back because it is so bad. The company did not stand by it and blamed us for not eating it.And update - no the company did not right the wrongs.

My family has been using Country Village meats for over 20 years. The staff is very friendly and you know you are taken care of when working with all of the employees. We now live over an hour away and still like to pick up meat when we go back home visiting family. Everything is always super convenient! The meat is always very fresh and tasty. I highly recommend even if you want to pick up a few items or stack your freezer for a year!

I don’t like to submit bad reviews of companies, but we had hogs processed here in 2021. After preparing the pork at home it has been the worst experience I have ever had in the quality of the actual butchering job they performed. The amount of fat left on bacon, left on butterfly pork chops and inconsistently of the ground pork; some lean and some very fatty sets a new level of disappointment. Bacon was supposed to be hickory smoked and it wreaks when cooked and some has been inedible. Maybe this is due to the amount of fat, only approx 10% meat on all bacon I have thawed to cook. Off 1# I had at least 1 cup of bacon grease and it smells so bad I would not save it and after tasting the bacon I had to trash it also.Maybe due to the situation of current affairs at that time influenced the quality of work, not sure. Just very disappointed and would never recommend this business for processing.

We were looking for a butcher and some friends highly recommended CVM. Small store but stocked with an amazing variety of meats, ribs, etc. We bought a couple of nice 2” thick fresh with bright red perfectly marbled T-bones and oh my, they were so delicious. There’s no better flavor then steaks grilled perfectly.It is one of the best ways to end the day. Also, add some of their smoked apple bacon into the double baked potato and now life is grand. Go across the street for fresh some vegetables and maybe some wine, or a beer, or two. Martinis are always welcome with a dinner starring Country Village Meats!Dig in y’all :-)

Country village meats Inc has the best service and quality of meat in the area. I'm getting the secret out because I had no idea and they are only a few minutes from Rochelle. I also had the pleasure of meeting some of their staff and was pleasantly surprised. They are actually very genuine people that work hard to be the best not the biggest.

Really great place and staff. Everything is delicious. Also, for the dogs in the family, pig ears and smoked beef bones. In Arizona for the winter with my kids but can't wait to get back to Woodhaven and Country Village Meats. ❤

Great little place. Excellent meat for an excellent price. We buy fillets, beef/pork roasts, brats, dried beef and more. We go quarterly. We try to told off our year end purchase til Thanksgiving time when they sell homemade English Toffee that's locally made.If you're w/in driving distance of this place, give them a try. You'll be glad you did.

I loved their breakfast sausage but the last couple of times they must have changed the recipe as they were not as flavorful GO BACK TO THE OLD RECIPE was much better .

Wow! The very best ground beef I have ever had! If I ran a restaurant this is what I would use for burgers and nothing else! Their beef sticks and jerky are great as well. I am going to have to try a ribeye from these folks!

Wow! It's a sight to behold for any meat lover. Amazing selection of brats, burgers, steaks, chicken, etc. The new owners are keeping up the tradition of great meats and are adding some additional items too. This is a gold mine in the little town of Sublette. Always look forward to stopping here!

Have got our beef here for the last 5 or 6 years and always great. Packed in double wrapping to eliminate freezer burn and some of the best beef you will find. Well worth the drive.

Growing up a butcher it is very hard these days for me to find the quality of me that I have found here, the prices are moderate but I have to say you definitely get the quality you expect.
