Are Boston love’s going here, he knows when we’re a block away from the place and starts whining lol. Staff are pleasant and friendly. They are awesome with our family member and take great care of him while there. They offer bathing and nail trimming and he loves it. Definitely a great place to come to to train, board or just to play around for day care where everyone is familiar.

I used Tail Command when they were in Taylorville and followed them when they moved to Springfield. Stella loves “going to school” so much that we have to make sure never to accidentally say “school” at our house or she will sit and cry at the door wanting to go “see her friends”. Stella, as well as my previous dog that went to Tail Command have always been taken care of, if not a little spoiled, while they were at Tail Command. She comes home happy and exhausted from playing all day!! Her before and after school pictures show she can’t wait to get there and then sleeps the whole way home! Lol. I have used their training, daycare, boarding and bathing/nail services and I have always been more than happy with them.

I cannot thank Tail Command enough for the amazing care they gave our lab Dori! After a month of searching for the right place for her to go for an extended stay (30+ days) where she would receive exercise, outstanding care, and love we picked the right place. The moment I walked into the building I knew we picked the right place for her to go. The staff went above and beyond and I will never be able to thank them enough. I wanted somewhere where she could play and truly be a dog and Tail Command was the spot. We added a bath and nail trim to her stay and we just picked her up and she looked and smelt amazing! Boarding your dog for that long you worry that they won’t remember you but I can reassure you Dori instantly knew who we were and was just as excited to see us as we were to see her! She has slept the whole ride home, and is still asleep lol! She played hard, which makes me so happy. We will be using Tail Command for all our boarding and doggy needs in the future! Again I cannot thank the staff enough for such amazing care of our baby!

I’ve been taking to one of my pups a little under a year ago and now bring both pups. They LOVE it. My pups come home sleepier than ever and interact well with other dogs. The staff is very kind, the building is very neat and clean. 10/10 recommend their bath special for the dogs, they come back smelling so fresh and clean!

I just picked up both of my dogs yesterday after an 8-hour drive and they were covered in urine. Dried hard urine all over their bodies and bed. Not only that, but they couldn't get the charges right on my card and had to charge my card twice. ALSO they lost my dogs leash that was expensive and they ARENT replacing it. Def not going back and will be finding a new place to board my pups.- The owner has responded below. (HE WAS NOT THERE WHEN MY DOGS WERE PICKED UP YESTERDAY, and cannot say that my dogs weren't covered in urine) Anyone that knows me knows I would not scream on the phone. Kat was who I spoke with and stated that she was the only person in that building at 5:30 when called yesterday which was right before they closed? There was nobody there? So now the owner is lying as well as her?? That looks good for Tail Command. I never did that and did not scream to owner when I talk to him today and he knows that and that is a COMPLETE lie. Its funny that they are trying to cover their butts for their mistakes. MY dogs bed was dripping in urine. They did not give me any sort of discount. I was charged the rates that are on their site. The front desk person months ago stated that I can pick up my leash at MY EARLIEST CONVENIENCE since I live 20 minutes away its not just down the street. She stated she would put my dogs name on it and I could pick it up front at any time and it was no big deal. The entire situation was unacceptable, and they know that and there aren't any excuses for my dog, or my parent's dog to be COVERED in urine the way they were. They could have been rinsed off with a quick bath. NO EXUSES. There are much better places that are cleaner and honestly much nicer and not as rude.

Tail Command is a great resource for dog owners. I've used this business for both their daycare and boarding services. My dog is well-cared for and tired after playing all day. The staff is always friendly too and my dog is very happy to see them. This is especially true for the staff member named Hope who is very friendly. I think she's his favorite! :-)

We recently moved from the Pacific Northwest and were looking for a place that would allow our Mini-Australian Shepherd to play all day as she is used to, I found that many places that offer daycare/boarding in Springfield keep the dogs in a kennel for most of the day. Tail Command allows her to be active and social all day and has access to the outdoors. The staff is friendly and our pup always comes home happy and worn out. They have been flexible with our schedule and the pricing is spectacular!

My girl Ella loves school, every time she hears that words she gets excited! This place is great to give her much needed dog interaction, exercise and of course attention that she just loves. The best part is after her "school" day she is exhausted. Best decision that we made was signing her up here!

I started taking my dog here for daycare when I started working from home; my dog realized how boring I was. My dog never tells me what he did that day at daycare or who his best friends there are, but I'm pretty sure he has a great time when he spends a day there. My dog receives regular nail trims/grinds from Avery. My dog is a pain in the neck for this process, but Avery bewitched him and now he adores her.

I really like the idea of Tail Command, but there were two main concerns that I had, one of which I discussed with the owner before I stopped going to there. The first was the smell, I understand there are a lot of dogs in a building but I have been to several other day cares and none smelled so bad (this means not sufficient cleaning or ventilation). Linked with the smell was the smell my dog came home with every day. Reeking of urine. My dog was always happy to see me when I came to pick him up but the second big concern was when I would go to drop him off he would REFUSE to get out of the car. He would not budge and he would resist me. Major flag there. Listen to your pups, folks. I spoke with the owner about the smell issue and he gave me the runaround of the product they were using but what it comes down to is they are understaffed for the number of dogs they take everyday. I would also like to see more transparency, they need to put up Webcams. First, because its fun to check in on the puppers during lunch break to see them having fun but also because it gives a sense that our family members are being treated well and are in a safe environment. I've spoken with other folks who used to take their dogs there too and it doesn't sound like they've made much improvement. Could be a great thing for our community, I'm rooting for you guys - just need to raise the bar.

This place is great. We use it mostly for Doggie Day care once a week, and our dog loves going there. We also board our dog here from time to time. We like knowing that she'll be in a familiar place and that she won't be stuck in a kennel while we're away. The staff is great - they know Tilly by name and are very friendly.

This review relates only to training.Our puppy stayed with them for three weeks and was supposed to learn basic commands and leash training. From what I can tell, the only command she usually obeys is sit, and her leash discipline is virtually nonexistent. If she is outside, she won't obey any commands, especially if there is even the smallest distraction.Part of the failure, I'm sure, is family members didn't receive much in the way of instruction for leash use and reinforcing commands. Written info for leash use, in particular, would have been helpful, since five different people walk her. Instead, one family member who picked her up at the end of the program was given quick verbal instructions.I also noticed she was dirty and somewhat damp when we visited her during the 3 week boarding. Not necessarily complaining about that since I don't know if that's typical at a boarding kennel, but mentioning it in case it's not.I'd consider using them for boarding or grooming in the future, but definitely not training.

Tail Command is wonderful. Our dog has a lot of energy and destroys things when she is alone and not in her kennel. This allows us to not keep her in her kennel all day while we are at work. She is worn out when we pick her up and can tell she enjoys it. The only reason I didn't give 5-stars is they don't have a web cam so we can peak in on them from time to time.

I love the place. I know I don't know what goes on exactly throughout the day as there's no cameras there but I love the idea of my dogs playing all day when I'm on vacation and not cooped up in a kennel. I know how tired they are from spending the day there so I'm sure they appreciate the alone time in their kennels at night, but I'm also sure they appreciate all the playing during the day.

I have been using Tail Command for almost a year now. The service is excellent and my dog loves to go to the daycare. The facility is well kept and the dogs are all excited to be there. I can tell my dog, Daisy, has a ton of fun every day by how tired she is when she comes home.Tail Command also offers training services. When I started taking Daisy there, she was a bit of a handful and very stubborn about following commands. Within two days of daycare, Daisy was no longer jumping on people and listening a little more. That was without the extra training services that they provide - just included with learning play manners throughout the day.Tail Command also offers grooming. Daisy has used this service several times. I've had her trimmed up - they did a fabulous job - and often have them do her baths. The great part is I can drop her off in the morning, she will play all day, I tell them when I will pick her up and they have her washed and ready for me when I get there. She's had fun and is all cleaned up without any extra running around or appointment making on my part.Tail Command also offers nutritional foods for your dogs/puppies that have been researched and are proven winners. When I started bringing Daisy there, I had just gotten her from a rescue. She had very thin, coarse hair and, what seemed to be allergies. They recommended a new food for her and, after a couple of months, her hair was much thicker and softer. Her allergies seemed to have cleared up too.Tail Command offers a convenient, one-stop services for your dog. They are really awesome!

Rufus and Marley love going to Tail Command. Safe place doe your fur babies to run, play, and socialize. Marley is a 1 year old high energy lab. The team works with her on her bad behaviors, she is turning into a well behaved dog.

We absolutely love using Tail Command in Taylorville IL. Our 2 year old english mastiff Ringo was becoming a little couped up in the house all day, so we decided to try out doggie day care last fall. It has been a great experience for all of us he has learned to play well with other and to take food nicely from us. We normally take Ringo 3 days a week and the minute we say Tail Command he gets very excited and looks for his leash. He spends about 8 hours at Tail Command and comes home tired and ready to snuggle up with us, opposed to being wound up and ready to play after we have worked all day! We have also utilized boarding for when we are out of town for the night or weekend and Ringo really enjoyed it. They also sell Taste of the Wild food so we are able to pick up his food while picking him up. Overall we love the atmosphere of Tail Command and Ian and Gabby are great with all the dogs. Thanks from Ringo's parents!!

Do not take your dog there!! They did not take any care of my dog especially when another dog had bit my dogs ear. They downplayed the entire situation as if it was very minor but when I picked my dog up she was in much worse shape than what they had described i took her to the vet and Tail command had chemically burned her ear by putting suture glue all over her entire ear. They did not bandage her ear so when I had picked her up she was still bleeding.

After a week and a half I notice a huge difference in our dogs, Tasha and Jack. In two days I noticed I started noticing it. Tasha had some dominance aggression toward jack but once I started using the techniques Ian taught me she learned I was in charge. She started playing more and they are now inseparable most of the time. The jumping on people has gotten a lot less and Jack now will stay when told. Tasha is still learning but is making a ton of progress. I just wish we would have went to tail command earlier. It would have meant a lot less stress and me trying to break up a lot less of dog fights. Thank u so much!!!!
