Scheels is the greatest sporting goods store ever. The only problem is, you better be prepared to spend some cash. Not because it's super expensive, but they have so much cool stuff. I love this store.

Fun place to visit and shop. Very clean, safe area, plenty of parking. Lots of employees to ask for help. Plan for an hr. at least to enjoy walking around and looking at everything! $1 to ride the Ferris wheel.

I accidentally found this wonderful store!So I brought my daughter to Springfield to learn about Lincoln with our homeschooling group and one of the kids wanted to go to a candy store. So I looked up candy stores in the area and found Fuzziwigs Candy Factory. When I put it into the GPS, it brought us here!I was taken back!! First, by the president benches with informational placks in front of thr store.. Then, by the amazing fish tank inside that you can walk under.. Then by the indoor Ferris wheel in the middle of the store!! It was just one thing after another. We went up to the candy store to find MORE presidents and a giant mountain full of animals accompanied by a hanging airplane!!After we bought candy, we headed over to check the bows out, and there is a gun range over there! (A kids one, of course) We kept walking to find a few arcade games.. They were only $1 to play.. We went to the Ferris Wheel, and it was $1/person as well!Definitely a sweet find that we will have to come back to again when we visit the area.They are open Monday through Saturday from 9am-9pm and on Sunday from 10am-6pm.

Brought back a co2 pistol. Was very rudely asked if I put the mag in the right way? Made me question myself. It slid in and out fine. He said put it in right and I should be fine...Brought it home and 1st time I shoot it, it won't release the mag!! And just so ya know, It won't even go in the wrong way, smartaleck! So now I have to take it back again!! This time I won't deal with a condescending child!

Came in to purchase a handgun. Unfortunately the model I wanted wasn't in stock besides the display model. No biggie as I wasn't in a hurry & would just have them order one. The salesmen were pushy to the point they were almost insistent that I purchase the display model stating it's the same thing I'd get by ordering. Sorry but if I'm buying a brand new gun I want a brand new gun. Not one that's covered in finger prints due to being handled by customers & employees . Besides that who knows how many times it had been dry fired. Also when placing my order they didn't have me complete the online background check or purchaser's paperwork. I was fortunate when I returned to the store to pick up my gun they weren't busy & I was able to complete the background check easily & it came back instantly otherwise I would've had to come back again. Better customer service & knowledgeable trained staff would've made this a 5⭐ experience. I had to explain to the salesmen & department manager that the Illinois gold card aka tan card is in fact no longer gold/tan & that the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation no longer physically issues these cards. They are now only available online to print yourself. All that aside I love my semi auto!

Scheels had turned into my favorite store to visit, especially when I am traveling. I've been to the Fargo, Rapid City, Overland Park and now Springfield stores and they always have the best gear and best prices. Always a pleasure to stop in!

Wow! First time here, and this place has it all for sporting goods. Well set up, truly have a chance to enjoy the shopping experience with family & friends. So much to do and all the different equipment to browse and/or tryout. It's a must stop if you're in Springfield or even nearby or passing through. You won't be disappointed.

There aren't many places you can take your kids for a sub $5 date, but that’s exactly what I did with my daughter this afternoon.$1 each for a ride on the Ferris wheel, $1 for a race in the arcade, and $1 for soft serve ice cream. Plus a lot of fun chasing "Nemo & Dori" the fish for free. Can't beat it!Beyond that, Scheels is incredible overall. It's definitely worth visiting for all of the many quality products and the friendly service. It's a gem of a place!

Very nice store. Loved the huge saltwater fish tank with all the variety of fish present. Huge variety inside from shoes and clothes to hunting gear, fishing gear, camping gear, games, frisbee golf, golf, ping pong tables, dart boards, cafe, candy shop and the list could go on.

Had a great time getting outfitted for a bow Zack and T gave me several options and strived to keep me on a good price point. Thanks to them I upgraded from an old schoolCompound bow to a beautiful phase 4. Shoots so well. Thanks guys

Scheel's is one of our favorite sporting goods stores! Not only do they carry all of the major brands that you may be in search of, but they also have a food area, candy store, ferris wheel (which only costs $1 to ride), kids toys/games, etc. Their aquarium is cool to walk under. Fantastic place to takes kids. We love to visit when we're in town, as we are a few hours away.

Stopped in while driving through Springfield. Clean store, pleasant and helpful staff. One employee even gave our small, elderly dog a treat. The ferris wheel was only $1 a rider which was nice! Our two small boys liked the shooting range game which was .50¢ per kid. Prices for gear was a little pricier than we normally spend. Gun prices were reasonable but you have to obey Illinois law for gun sales, even out of state shoppers.The cafe is great. Nicely priced and food quality was really good. Large portions and made to order. Definitely recommend grabbing a bite to eat.

A fun 2 hours (grand-girls, ages 5 & 3) Great price on kid’s meals. The ferris wheel ride is only $1. The large aquarium is very nice. Helpful staff. Candy store, small arcade area, mountain of taxidermied animals and mini-bowling all a bonus. Shopping: GREAT variety on all things sport equipment —> clothes, shoes, bikes, swimming, skiing, and hunting/guns. Double ck your prices to make sure you’re getting a good deal. Some things are priced a tad too high. Variety of products is exceptional.

It's a destination store and halfway from home to Columbia, MO. A great stop with kids. Food, ferris wheel, fish tanks, presidents, and a great store on top of that. Great selection of sports gear and everyday products.

Got a great deal on a Trek hybrid bike to commute to work. I like this store and the discounts they can offer. Their bike shop is friendly/helpful and don't rip you off on service and tune up prices.

Bought an old Browning A5 two weeks ago from Springfield Scheels. Finally decided to go shoot it tonight. And the firearm will not fire. Like the trigger is frozen solid and will not budge. Not very happy with this as I spent a good bit of money on the firearm and they supposedly test fire these firearms before they will buy them. I am taking the gun to a reputable gunsmith to have it properly fixed. The gun counter wanted me to bring the firearm back in and have them look at it which I was not a fan of. Just figured I’d take it to a real gunsmith.

Large place with lots of different products for your both indoor and outdoor needs. People working here are friendly and attentive, the store is always clean, bright and organized. They do price match competition, so don't forget to get yourself a barcode scanner app to shop smart.They even have a walk-in cafeteria with plenty of healthy sandwiches, bakery, dessert and ice-cream options.

This place is AMAZING! To call it a "sporting goods store" is an injustice. Schools has everything you could want and more. When you first enter, you walk under the aquarium then you are greeted by the Ferris Wheel. There are several areas for your enjoyment such as an arcade, mini bowling alley, gun range, and dining area. You can spend hours looking through all of the different areas (hunting, fishing, camping, kayaking, etc).If you are ever in the Springfield area, definitely add Scheels to your to-do list.

The ferris wheel operator (Gavin) was very nice and helpful to see if there was anything we needed. The cashiers are always nice and patient when I add something the last minutes. They even wrapped my salsa and pickles very well.I also found some of the best fuzzy socks I have worn! Thanks, Scheels!

Prices are a little high, but the selection is unbeatable. Staff are always pleasant and really go above and beyond. This is definitely a stop if your from out of town and is a great local resource for the locals.

it was a really fun place. theres a ton of taxidermy animals and a large fish tank at the entrance. i also got some candy from the candy shop on the second floor.
