I will start by saying that before today, I encountered so many great people at Menards. Scott is amazing and others have been very helpful and kind. Today, however, I experienced something I never thought I would. I was accused of trying to take a board out of the lumber yard without paying by a guy named Tommy. What is interesting about this encounter is the fact that he approached me and the guy I was dealing with just so that he could address me. He said what going on here.. The guy said oh she is just doing an exchange. His exact words were “ I remember you from yesterday, You tried to leave the yard with three boards and only paid for two” I said I’m sorry, and he repeated what he said in an as a matter of fact tone. I said “ do not do that sir, I spend too much money here for you to address me like that. Yesterday, we had a list and we needed 3) 1x8 and 2) 2x12 and when u offered to cut the boards because u were out of specific size we needed, I simply said the wrong amt to my contractor and when we reached the door we realized we only needed two of that size and corrected that. I own a business, I have a commercial card and too much to lose try to take a $25 board. What is funny is everyone knows that your vehicle is checked before u leave so why would a thief even try?? This is sad I have spent close to 30k in the last few months here and this man felt the need to accuse me of trying to leave with a $25 board, that’s laughable. Maybe he thought because I was a black women, I was not a regular but either way, he should NEVER. Tommy needs to be reprimanded and in no way should he be a lead or manager of any kind for your company. Before being a business owner, I managed companies for years and I would never do what he did. Once I told him I was a business owner, holding a commercial card with money to buy a board without an issue, he came down off his attitude but….the fact that he took time to interrupt me speaking to another associate, in order to approach me in such manner, leaves me in disbelief. Big Blow to my experience in Menards… really sad that he is an employee and from what I here part of your management team. I hope you do better in employee and management choices.

Be careful If you enter this Menards with a handicapped person. I became separated from a 90 year old man I was with, and couldn't manage to get the staff I approached to take me seriously. I was so upset that I emailed corporate, but their lack of any response whatsoever speaks volumes. I am highly doubtful I'll get anything more than one of those generic copy paste responses. I would highly suggest switching to Lowes, or really anywhere besides here. This company couldn't have demonstrated more clearly that they don't remotely care about customers. If you want to affect change, take your money somewhere else. I thought the Menards business model was that you overpay, but the customer service makes it worth it, I could be wrong though. Lowes is right across the street, do the right thing people. After viewing other reviews, it is clear that handicapped people have clearly been discriminated against, I would encourage those affected to email the Civil Rights department through the link on the Americans with Disabilities website. They need to be made aware of the pattern of neglect clearly rampant in this store. Have a good day.

let me start off this is one of the worst shopping experiences i ever had in life !!!! i went to Menards 2 get my handicap Uncle that’s in a wheelchair some bug bombs ! i was stop by a worker Name CHAD and he asked did i just do a return ? i was so confused why he was asking me this 😬 never in my 37 years of life had a sales clerks done this !! no !! was my response i just bought something !! i start walking he follows me and then starts harassing me for a receipt!! once again out of everyone in the store why was i the only person getting question ! ?i told him please stop with this mess sir ! he grab my Menards bag out my hands and rips open until he finds the receipt ! he actually pushed me , after he picks up the receipt! he ask me why i didn’t show him the receipt? first off chad who likes to pick on the only black women in the store ! i have rights and i didn’t have to show him my receipt ! i didn’t brake any laws what so ever! i did contact Bryan the night manger he brushed me off ! And didn’t take my complaint seriously ! bryan didn’t have good customer service he was on his employee side ! i would like 2 be contact asap ! this is no store protocol or procedure that employees get to grab a Customer’s bags out their hand and get assaulted ! i went home crying ! i never felt so racially profile, in my life ! the reason he did this is because he thought i was stealing because he thought i fit the look ! he was definitely wrong this time

I went in to grab 4 deck chairs, I grabbed 4 chairs from the box that was labeled sale 39.99, I get to the register and they ring at 49.99 which was the box next to the chairs that I picked.It took 3 employees to say that I grabbed the taller chair, so I go back to where the chairs were with employee. We open the two different chairs and yes, one was taller.We go back up front and all my chairs are the same size but they say they are different. Zero difference and they acted like I was trying to get away with something. Terrible customer service, I hadn't been there in years and I remember why, will absolutely not return.

Horrible Flooring Product and Department. They do not stand behind their product. They refer you to anyone other than themselves for warranty. The plank floor I purchased curled within 6 months. The tech coming to look at is was over 2 hours late and then I received a letter saying they denied the warranty because I didn’t accommodate the necessary verification. Once you pay them for a product they will not help you with anything defective. Horrible service and defective flooring!

Its an alright place. Since the pandemic they raised their prices just to hit you when you needed the most. Also the Rebate program is a scam. Never get nothing in the mail or even hear back from them. But more helpful people than Lowes.

Employee by the name of Joe assisted me today. He said he has been employed there at the Dirksen Springfield Illinois store for 13 years. I had several items I needed. He took me around half the store to help. He new where everything was. Very helpful

Wow what a nice hardware store. I have been shopping at a Home D.. since it was near my home in California. I was a pro and don't think I ever finished a single job without having to go somewhere else for something. What a breath of fresh air Menard's is! I have only been there a half dozen times, doing some repairs to a house I bought here in Springfield. Every single time I go there is someone nearby to help me locate what I need and so far every one of them has been knowledgeable about what I am doing. Super selection of hardwoods too. You will never find that at Home D...

I absolutely love this Menards. Clayton did an EXCELLENT job helping us find the correct pegboards. We had thousands of questions about the durability of them and he answered them all. I highly recommend this Menards

Great pet selection for food, toys, etc. Nice garden center area as well. As far as home improvement/ lumber goes pretty so-so. For a short drive down the road there's a lot better local and family operated lumberyard I would rather use named Carter Bros Lumber.

I'm driving a semi on an 11 stop run, all delivers to various Menards across Indiana, Illinois, Missouri and Iowa. So this is the 7th stop and everyone at the other 6 stops has been super nice, but the receiving manager working at this location right now (March 2, 2023 @ 7pm) is a being a real jag, treating me as if I'm subhuman. Maybe he doesn't realize truck drivers can leave Google reviews too, or maybe he just doesn't care.And they wanted me to get in the trailer to help them unload, but when I explain that it's a no-touch contract which means I'm not insured if I help unload and get hurt, they're just like "you'll be fine don't worry about it." Yeah right, are you gonna pay my hospital bill? Put it in writing and I'll climb right in and get to work. Otherwise you can eat my shorts.I'm super-glad it's a one-off spot market run, which means I won't be back. I am gonna stock up on engine fluids and snacks at one of these stops, but it sure as heck won't be at this one.

I found what I was looking for quickly because I received great directions from the guy near the service desk. Once I got to the correct area a young lady spent 10 minutes going over various options to clean out my sink clogs. Great experience!

Don't come here to buy any lumber! Their policy is that if you spend thousands of dollars on would you have to come pull it and pick it yourself they won't even have it. Your time is not worth anything to them. Pay full price and have to load ur own truck. Lowe's will have your lumber package ready for pick up in 24 hours

My drive in to Menards went pretty uneventful. Traffic was a little slower than normal but that is to be expected for a Tuesday early afternoon. Got to Menards and noticed a shopping cart in the parking lot so I took it into the store like all good humans should (but don't). Needed a couple led strip lights to finish a project for my wife and got the last 2. Don't tell her I'm making her something. Normally they are out of the lights so since they had them in stock I knew the rest of the trip would be fantastic. Next I got a couple gallons of deck finish then headed out to find bubble wrap. Went to the paint section where they have the tape but it wasn't there. The workers weren't able to read my mind so they didn't help at all. Then I looked on the app and it said there were 2 locations with bubble wrap. Looked all over but didn't see any. Finally I gave up and thought I could use a small bag of grass seed. A few other people thought they would do the same so I didn't even bother pushing my way down a packed aisle and went to the checkout. On my way home I stopped at a dollar general to get the bubble wrap so there was a happy ending to the story.

Needed some items from the outside yard sat .tried the order on line thing .went up there .couldn't believe how freindly and accommodating. Everyone was outside. To help .e get what I had on my list .the yard was super clean also. Check out kid was great as well .

I want to recognize, Rhonda. A wonderful employee in the paint department. She is very friendly and, goes above and beyond to help customers. If you have a question, she doesn’t act like someone peed in her Cheerios. This 5 star rating is for Rhonda. Not the north end Menards.Thanks again Rhonda!!

Nice store. Friendly staff. Better prices than Lowe's on many items. Only complaint is how far the entrance and exit doors are from each other. :-) Definitely worth checking out if you need hardware, landscaping materials, etc.

Love how one visit to a place will make you never want to come back...had to go back twice because of the warehouse people. The people in the store are really helpful and sold us the right stuff and told us the people in back with help us. Nope! They were to busy playing on their forklifts to help customers. I dont know if it was time to go home for them and they didn't want to help us . If you don't have to get anything from the warehouse part you will be totally satisfied.😡

Great store, great help, meet all your needs or direct you to other resource. Thos store can be a one-stop home building to finishing touch store. Landscape the house & even buy groceries to fill your new cabinets. Amazing section of products to help you keep your new or remodel clean too! Not bad for a business owner to find many needs met for offices too!Outdoor clothingGreat lawn & garden people!

Love this Store! Go here often just to look around and shop! Employees always willing to help, and asking if there is anything they can help you find! The whole store is always Sparkling and Clean! Love the New layout of the store! My Husband thinks I create things to do, just so We can go shopping!

Fantastic experience even with social distancing. The staff is right there for you! I walked in looking for something and the staff member walked with me all the way across the store to show me where the item was located. Very nice! The cashier was also very kind and personable. Great experience! Thank you Menard's. 🙏😁

They not only messed up our delivery date but also couldn't provide the materials we ordered but replace with something totally different that we didn't like. Lost our shed 2 times called asked for a blue print. They claim they cant fax or email . I will never spend another dime at this store ...

Midwestern DIY lumber yard home improvement appliance.... etc plus they sell milk some frozen pizzas guess to sum it up you could get absolutely everything you need to be totally self-sustaining from this store. Plus they have a friendly staff and usually have really good promotions and deals.

I always enjoy my trips to Menards because I'm very into my flowers and veggies outdoors. I can drop a pretty penny on plant stuff, landscaping materials and also tools and supplies for all my DIY projects. I feel like the cashier's up front R great but finding someone to help in the store can be @ times hard, but I understand,with the labor shortages I'm sure Menard's is no exception. I can easily spend a couple hours in there 😎 I love the rebate program and lately I've been getting free things in the form of a rebate and the rebates never expire. I just used one recently, that was from 2012. I will be returning in the near future to return a Bluetooth tracker that did not work, and their off brands of electronics are not the greatest, including their phone charger cords.

The best part of Menards is that their employees have knowledge about the products they sell. They also know where everything in the store is located. I've found the opposite at Lowe's, with the exception of the appliance and paint dept it's hard to find anyone that knows much about the products or can tell you where to find something. I also love that Menards has a lot of "Made in the USA" items.

I was surprised by how many employees asked me if I needed help finding anything. The customer service was awesome. Such a difference from Lowes; I went there the same day and had trouble even getting an employee to give me a measuring tape.
