Great people. ALWAYS HELPFUL. Always pleasant. Acknowledges you as soon as you walk in the door. Prices are just a little higher than the big box stores, but the friendliness and help definitely makes up for the difference in price. Well worth it to pay just a little bit extra.

They have always been amazing to help find anything in the store. Barb has been fair to me and all customers! If you're in a rush, just tell her and she will be sure to act quickly. Kelly the cashier is about as ornery as they come. Mike and Joey will be about as helpful as can be. Mercedes is the only trouble in the store. She doesn't mean to cause issues, and will always rectify it. Jim is the man and will direct you perfectly to anything you need.

Always greeted when walking in as well as a "thank you" at departure. Three times I've visited always asked if I needed help finding anything. Always a plus to actually hear those words. Seldom heard from big box stores. So visiting a smaller venue has rewards

The service at Lakeside True Value is excellent. The staff is friendly and always very helpful with any questions. They will also help load your vehicle if ever needed. It's just the right sized store with an excellent selection.

Locally owned with very pleasant and knowledgeable staff. Good selection but small enough that you can get in and out quickly. Also a convenient place to stop for gas station type snack food/drinks if you take Stevenson Drive.

We had the pleasure of visiting this true value after riding around springfield stopping every where looking for some set screws with no luck. We were on the harley it was raining and cold and our air breather came off the bike it was a situation to say the least. one of the places we stopped recommended this place and boy i’m glad they did they had exactly what we needed and were more then happy to help us. they held conversations with both of us and were truly interested in our trip. The staff here were so amazing I can’t even say it enough we felt wanted and cared for which shows a lot about their employees. THEY CARE! I’ve never had such a great conversation with store employees the young man working took my fiancé and showed him exactly what we were looking for and found the right size and tool while we warmed up they also had some great hats and gloves by far best!

I walked in and was greeted right away. I received help for everything I was looking for which was so great. I found all of the items I needed. They even brought everything out to my vehicle! You don’t get this level of service at the big box stores! Great experience!

If you can't find the doo-dad or the thing-a-ma-bob anywhere else chances are the folks here know what it is and what aisle it is in. Great staff, lots and lots of items to look thru. Going to the hardware aisle can be over-whelming but if a staff member does not meet you at the door to help you then the place must be busy.Everyone is so kind and helpful and the selection is really broad. I by Milwaukee Tools and other tools here as well as lawn and leaf bags and seed.Great store, big lot, everything from dirt to hardware.

Lakeside True Value sells my bird feed which I have purchasing at TV for years. They have never been out of my monthly needed feed, always kind and helpful. There is always someone who has helped me to my car! GOOD PEOPLE 🙂

This place is a great local hardware store. Always great service and friendly staff. Great variety of products and willing to get it if they don't have it. They offer rentals also. They have propane refills / exchange. Overall great place and staff.

This store is definitely a dying breed: the last of the neighborhood hardware stores where they know you by sight when you walk in the door. You would never go into this store to buy high dollar appliances or materials to build an entire house, but if you are in the middle of a late Sunday afternoon plumbing emergency and walk in the door with a handfull of parts and say "I need one of these" or "I need a thing to connect this thing to that thing" there will be somebody right there to help you. A fair assortment of home and yard care goods as well as a decent rental equipment business.

I was very impressed because someone asked me if I needed help and I did not get that at Ace on Wabash so I got everything I wanted. It's a small place but the people were helpful and cheerful.

Great service. Prices are a little high but it's a local business
