This is a very well ran store particularly the dairy department. All dairy items were neatly placed on shelves and very organized. No soiled milk. No cracked eggs. All the refrigerated doors were clean. Dairy department gets 6/5 stars.

Selling rotten produce! Even the bag of green beans I bought that were "organic" and pre trimmed were slimy. Never will shop here again. Cherry tomatoes all rotten on display. Horrible.

I have recently ordered two birthday cakes from the County Market Bakery at Fairhills. The first cake was so beautiful it looked like a wedding cake and, was delicious. When I ordered a second cake, I only told them the text I wanted and told them the theme. It was more than I expected, with a beautiful picture that matched the theme my 5-year-old grand-daughter loves. I highly recommend this bakery for both decorating talent and quality. It’s an art!

Used to be a great store customer service has gone downhill. At checkout cashier didn't even acknowledge me the customer but could have a full fledged conversation with the cashier across from her.

Usually very friendly staff, reasonable prices, and organized stock. Great when you have coupons.My only complaint would be the sweaty freezer doors make it hard to see the product through the glass. (Haven’t noticed this recently. They may have fixed it) 👍Other than that, reasonable place to shop for groceries.

Shop here all the time. Have spent a lot of money here. However the rotisserie chicken I had tonight tasted like it had been there since yesterday. There are a few cashiers that I like to go to because they are so Friendly. Ones name is Laura. She is so nice and always makes my visit pleasant. However, the manager that you have in the evening, think his name is Geoff has a personality to match a board. He never speaks, even after I speak and acts like he hates his job. I even sent him walk out of the store when it was super busy because he was stressed. This is not the job for him. I have been a manager for 12 years and would never leave my cashiers. Poor excuse for a manager. I will continue to shop here because it is so close, but you really need to evaluate things.

Some staff do more visiting than working. Some of the young male baggers just talk and pay no attention to the customer. Seems the management does not know what is going on. Feel sorry for some of the cashiers because they lacked training. Pharmacy is great.

Very unprofessional staff, especially later in the night. They take forever to ring up items, they are usually chatting or bitching with each other, never make eye contact or smile or behave professionally with the customer. Tonight I went just to get few groceries and the bill was 17$. I had a gift certificate worth 30$. The lady checking me out told me I had to spend the entire 30$ to use the certificate. I would have paid up using my card and used the certificate later (usually I buy groceries worth 40-50$ each time from this location). She was so rude about it, when I asked if I could spend 17$ now and the rest later and if there was any way they could write the balance on the certificate, since I did not need much tonight. She made a very bad face, twisting her mouth and nose and very arrogantly said no you have to spend 30$. It was so displeasing that I decided to leave all the groceries there and just walk out of the store. This is the closest location to my house and its a 24 hour market, we buy all our groceries here. I have often gone there after work or late night when we are missing something. I promise I will never go to this location again. Extremely disappointed by the rude and unprofessional behavior tonight, this is county market at its worst! I also think they are kind of racist, because I always notice they are nicer to people with white skin and blue eyes. If they have a problem with my skin color or appearance, they should not be in customer service.

Great sale prices throughout the store. County Market has a good deli, though I liked it better before the redesign with expensive, pretty, shiny, stainless steel containers. The staff had a difficult time getting lasagna for a customer because the new containers lay on top of the shelf (rather than dropped inside it) allowing it to slide around. The sales person had to hold onto the container while struggling to get the servings lasagna. Also, the serving utensils were inadequate for the task. The only ones available with the new set-up was an oversized spatula (which, you can imagine, made it impossible to lift one serving out of the pan), and a tong/spatula combo that was about 1/4th the size of the gooey lasagna, allowing it to fall apart. It took two people over 15 minutes to get that customers deli food out of the new containers before they could move on to help those of us waiting in line. With the old style deli counter supplied with proper utensils and stable containers, it would have taken a few seconds to accomplish the same task. Even with different sized spatulas, getting the lasagna out of the container would have taken a while as they had to hold the bowl, the styrofoam box, and the spatula. Obviously, the people who designed the new deli section hadn't tried using it. It wasn't just the lasagna that caused a problem. The deli people had sliding containers with other items they were trying to dish out, though it wasn't quite as bad. I bet I know who will cover the cost of that pretty, though inefficient, redesign.

5 shopping trips in a row that I have had to either go to service desk after check out or differ with the checker because of wrong prices. I am not going to stand and watch everything be scanned and make sure every price is right and make sure I get my penny pincher prices and make sure I get my Max card discount. All of the above has been issues. Watch closely people, your probably being overcharged.

I just want everyone to know what I experienced when I placed an special order with the bakery area. My daughter was getting married 10/16/2021 and I told her that I would purchase her cake. After receiving several recommendations and pictures of the ideal cake I chose County Market located on Monroe Street in Springfield, IL. I spoke with Linda she is the person in charge of the Bakery. I shared with her what my daughter needed and the cake design she specified and asked Linda if she could pull it off. She said " yes". I bought artifical flowers, edible glitter, and rhinstone adhesive tape to add to the cake. The Wedding cake turn out sooo much better than I could have ever imagine!! It was beautiful and beautifully made! I loved it and most importantly my daughter really loved it! As I said to Linda, she is an "wedding cake Genius." I was very satisfied with the entire purchase experience and the professionalism and expertise of the Bakery area. I will definitely recommend them to anyone and certainly keep them in mind for future events. THANK YOU Again Linda and bakery staff at County Market on Monroe Street.

I have noticed that the young people that work at your location on Monroe are just not as friendly and accommadating to help assist me in finding what I need to bagging my groceries. I have been shopping at this location for many years and have seen the decline in the courtesy in your staff to the cleanliness of the store. I am not sure if this is a management issue or corporate but something really needs to be addressed before you start seeing a decline in customer's...thank you..

The employees here are always very nice and helpful. As for prices, it seems like this store is on a four-week cycle, and there is usually one week per month where prices are very competitive, and then three weeks where prices are not so competitive. Overall, this is the best grocery and pharmacy shopping experience in Springpatch.

This is one of those reviews if I could give this a negative 10, I would. Tomorrow will be the fifth time I will be returning rotten, perishables. This store is just nasty! The freezers are always sweating, safety cones up and down the freezer aisles because of this. Once I bought a $15 rack of ribs, I opened it, I could immediately smell the rot of decomposition. I took 3 packs of Carl Buddig meat back because of mold. Tonight I opened a pack of shredded cheese that is good until October 18, only it was green with mold already. I have slowed down in shopping there, too bad, it’s in my neighborhood. Walmart may be full of undesirables, but I have never had to return anything. I am calling the health department this Monday and will demand to know why this bacteria-filled cesspool is allowed to continue to operate.

Used to be my favorite store until they had a can drive outside and I asked the manager to match the 10$s I was gettin in none perishables and he refused.. so they expect their costumes to donate to feed our local families in need but they aren’t willing to match even a 10$ contribution.. beyond disappointing I’m a single father and a union member i understand what it means for a family to go to bed hungry at night.. Niemann Foods, Inc is a union busting company and that shows in the fact they don’t care about the community they work for.. hyvee will get all my business they are union built and understand working in and with the community

I do all of my grocery shopping here!! Meat is excellent and always fresh! Over the last several years Ive seen many of the same faces and some new but have always been treated kindly!! Anything I need I know all I have to do is ask and anyone is happy to help! Great sales too!! Love the penny pincher! Thanks for everything all of you do!! I know your jobs arent always easy, but youd never know it!!

This grocery store is close to my house and I loved the convenience. However the past few visits there's only one cashier lane open and huge long lines. If I wanted to deal with long check out lines I would shop at a big box store.

It is the worst last for customer service! Too bad too because they have great pays on the meet! I have had three bad experiences in just one year so I am done! the first one was around June 2013 with the produce guy , say how about a Mexican hat dance , I am dark in the summer with brown eyes .. how rude what is i was Mexican!!! then the old woman who works the 8 or less counter ... wait till I get right up to it and turns the light off!! I said oh your closed .. she said WELL THE LIGHTS OFF ISN'T IT! and finally today Nov 9.. I am up at the service counter trying to purchase a gift card , . no one there but me then all the sudden another lady comes up and they wait on her!!What in Heavens name is wrong with these workers!!
