I shop Jewel in Spring Grove IL every couple of days. I am handicapped and the store only has 2 motorized carts.Seventy five percent of the time they are occupied. I have called the corporate office numerous times and the say they will address it. Six months I have been asking and still only rwo carts. The management team should start listening to the handicapped community

An odd layout compared to other jewels I've been to. Especially having the restrooms all the way in the back corner. And speaking of restrooms- dirty and the absolute cheapest toilet paper they could find. On the plus side, people working there are super nice and helpful.

Update from today’s visit 4/20/24. I have used self checkout scores of times by myself at Jewel and many other stores. I know how it works and I know what I’m doing. Today, Susan M. felt the need to step in front of me while I was scanning and proceeded to take over checking out some of my items, which was rude. She really should stay in her own lane unless help is requested.I figured out why I couldn’t find turmeric on the produce search list at checkout. Apparently, Jewel, a huge grocery chain in the area, has misspelled, mispronounced and computerized the word turmeric incorrectly. It’s not “tumeric” as they have listed, it’s turmeric. My receipt is wrong. The website picture is correct. Jewel should know better. Please correct this error.

Makes me sad! overpriced and poor selection for a higher-end store. many complaints especially produce, but when a Kaiser roll cost a dollar and it's all air with no flavor, chicken is the same brand that they sell at WalMart, no selection of good cheese. Jewel/Osco App is needed to get sales which could be convenient... but the Wi-Fi in the store doesn't work so half the time you can't me home and realize you were overcharged! they make you jump through hoops, just to get decent prices on their sale items. frustrating! The staff is ALWAYS nice and helpful I actually feel bad for the workers the management is greedy.

Store was clean and fruit looked good. Being in from SC, the fruit and veggies very nice looking! Store well stocked. Prices high anywhere you go so really can't comment on that😳... I understand from locals (hi mom!). When sales are had, they are good but it's all gone.

Very nice and nice people 👍 Not completely used to this store, but trying to conform as it is now the closest one to me. Absolutely love the store in Fox Lake, but considering moving my prescriptions to Spring Grove! They have a tough act to follow with both the store plus pharmacy. I definitely have had serious issues in the past with this location. I have been trying to give this location several opportunities to change my mind!! More to come as I continue to give them several chances!!Pharmacy is excellent!! Staff is willing to go over & above!!

The store was clean and the people were friendly. They just seem to be out of everything that I wanted on that visit. No shredded hash browns. No sugar-free fruit punch from minute maid. This was at both Jewel locations.

It’s a very nice looking Jewel, but their produce section has a very limited selection and it’s not always fresh. I go to this location the most often because it’s the closest to where I live. Otherwise, I would prefer the McHenry or Fox Lake location.

The store is clean and very well stocked. If you are having a bad day or going thru a rough patch don't go here. I stood at the service desk for almost 10 minutes while the woman was at self check out joking with another employee, looking at me several times without coming to ask what help I needed. When I walked over and stood by self check out and waved her over, I was dismissed with a "better than me chuckle" and attitude. Then told to figure the app out myself.If the intention was to make me feel bad about myself, she did!Very disappointed!Drew in the pharmacy was absolutely amazing!!! 5 stars for him!!

This is a clean Jewel! Well stocked and I had a great cashier! I would of given a 5 star if my son did not have to bag our groceries! For the prices we paid we shouldn’t of had to do this.He isn’t an employee for Jewel.

I have been shopping here since the day this location opened, and it has become SO bad, I will no longer come here except to pickup prescriptions at the pharmacy. 90% of the time, produce is moldy and/or rotten, and many days 50% of the products on the shelves are expired. For months, this is the only Jewel in the area that can't seem to get inventory into the store; while they are always full of excuses, none of the nearby stores look as though they are going out of business - like this one does. The constant changeover in staff has resulted in a crew delivering the worst customer service I have ever experienced; outside of a few gems in the deli, pharmacy, and at the registers, expect to be lied to, ignored, and treated like you are a waste of human life. Unless it is an absolute emergency, take your money to Fox Lake where they actually appreciate your business.

That troll working drive up and go is about the rudest person I have ever met 3 visits 3 rude encounters older short brown hair don’t know her name. I don’t know if she has a hard time being away from her bottle or what her deal is but she definitely shouldn’t be the face of your biz.

Don't bother ordering online. You'll get the oldest, worst produce available and the substitutions are always completely different. Every trip to pick up has ended with either a return or tossing product.

This Spring Grove location always seems to have what I need in stock. Their produce is fresh and there's a Starbucks coffee on site! The staff is friendly and the store is clean. They retrieve their carts often and the parking lot is clean as well. No immediate complaints about this store.

Very clean and fully stocked Jewel. Staff was friendly and did a great job.Johnny, our cashier, was a REALLY nice kid.I would have easily given 5 stars but we had to wait over 3 full minutes for the manager to come ring up some holiday Captain Morgan's for us (Johnny could not). 3 minutes does not sound like much but when you are in line in the express lane at the grocery store it is MUCH longer then you think it can be.Anyways, the manager took her time, talking to employees on her way to us. No hurry, no apology, but I DID notice that she said very loudly for Johnny to "get moving"!!!!!! I could not believe it. The poor kid was not at fault in any way at ALL and the MANAGER is the one who held everyone in that line up. That really really bothered me. I felt bad for Johnny.

This has been my go to store for almost 15 years. Everything I've needed to do I've been able to do it here. Very great product and the produce is always fresh here. I would have to say that this store has a very great store manager. Not saying other ones don't. Just saying that the store in fox lake is clean, organized, the staff are friendly and helpful. If you just moved in the area I would recommend you come here for your shopping needs. You won't be sorry you did...

I think it's great they just got updated registers to self check out. I understand stealing goes up with them but the person that was in charge of this area today made me feel so uncomfortable as if I was doing something wrong. She stood right behind me the whole time and just watched my every movement. Like I said I get that I was the only one in self check out and I get it's her job and that people steal in self check out. But can you make it a little less obvious that you are watching me like a hawk? Thank you!

Always friendly. They did recently get rid of the self checkout lanes. I liked those. But if it reduces theft and in return prices I understand. I do love my local jewel! Great meat and seafood selection!

I've never had a manager try to scare me into not giving me a position because I go to school. So unprofessional how the manager Patty/Peggy talked to me. A week ago I was checking out at the register when I overheard the manager talking to a customer about how she's working 60+ hours that week because of all the cashier's calling off. Figured they needed more cashier's so I tried to apply. I had already had a position at the McHenry jewel to work in the deli but this location was closer to my school so asked to switch locations and positions. Which was fine. Was told I'll have to start as a bagger till they have a promotion to move me to be a cashier but they wouldn't know when that'd be since they don't know when their promotions are and could only give me 12 hours a week. Was all fine since I have another part time job. What was NOT fine was when I was called to be told (very rudely) that they don't need to take my application if I'm not going to be available Saturday nights. Even tho I'm available from 7am-5pm THE ENTIRE WEEK and ALL day Sunday. I understand they want people to be available on the weekends but I have schooling at night and every other Saturday. You're $9/hr and 12 hr/week part time position is NOT more important than my schooling or other job. Also maybe the manager should hire people who could use jobs instead of giving herself 60+ hours. So sad to have heard her complain about people not wanting to work but she doesn't want to hire anyone and do HER JOB of making a schedule.

The manager is the best!!! We bought a bucket of chicken wings on Sat and they were not very good. I contacted Jewel and the manager not only called me to apologize, but brought us a new bucket of wings so we would have them in time for the Superbowl! This gentleman went above and beyond. We are so appreciative! Thank you so much!

Beautiful store. Ordered for a family get together. Cake from the bakery was decorated just perfect. Fried chicken from the deli was delicious. Great experience

Had a scheduled appointment to get the booster shot ask them if they could do my wife when we were both there together one of the pharmacists with bright pink hair butt it in my conversation and I told he wasn't talking to you and he got very rude and said you're not getting a shot here now. if the job is too stressful for you and find another job don't take it out on the customer very sad. Nothing you can do I came in for a booster shot for someone to tell me I can't have the shot is not right . Going to report this to CDC.

Friendly, helpful staff. Jewel is one of my go-to places for groceries. Love the deals here. There are some clearance shelves at this location too, which has nice surprises from time to time. Don't forget to download their app for more deals and follow them on Fb for some free items from time to time. There's a Starbucks at this location as well as 2 redbox stations. Ad is previewed on Tuesday. Random freebies in app on Saturdays.

Mike in the meat department and the entire deli staff are the reason I come here. I sincerely hope they never get rid of the butcher shop. The prices are high store wide but the meat prices are fair for what you get.

I shop Jewel sometimes and recently went to Spring Grove store. It's clean & friendly but it's super dark in there. The lighting could be a bit better. I'm sure missed things because I couldn't see them! Brighter lights would help.

Store was clean and staff was friendly and helpful. Raw chicken and green onions were fresh. Laid out a lot different than other Jewels. Will stop in again when I'm in the hood.
