The fresh fruit, vegetables, meats and cheeses quality are much better and a bit cheaper than the major nearby store brands. The world food options are wider as well, and the fresh pre-packed meals for individuals and families are delicious as well.For other general groceries and items, especially personal/ health related, I do advise going to nearby stores. Regardless, even for a quick pickup of milk, I find myself drawn to Caputos than elsewhere.It’s an atmosphere and staff thing; it’s welcoming and the staff remember faces.

Perhaps our favorite grocery store--so many Italian imports that it's hard to count. My (Italian-born) wife adores the in-store made (and cheap!) gelato, sweets (docle?), focaccia, and a myriad of packaged products like Rollinos. The produce section is diverse and of good quality as is the meats and cheeses sections. Yes, it may be a more expensive store here and there....but it's worth it.

A great Italian, international, and American grocery store. Has all the classic Italian products including some hard to find ones! Also has extensive products catering to a multitude of ethnic tastes from Mexican/Hispanic to Polish/East European to Indian Chinese/East Asian and all in between. Wonderful that they branched out but I hope they always stick to their Italian American roots in appearance, multilingual marketing, and music. The deli is fantastic. The bakery has run of the mill Italian goods but doesn’t seem to have the same community feel and care that smaller Italian pasticcerias do. Still in a pinch it’s a great go to. The bar and cafe is a great addition! The customer service ranges from great to awful so kinda stands at average sometimes I wonder if management is providing the best healthy environment for its employee kinda get angsty vibes from time to time but I guess that’s modern grocery stores still would be nicer to feel more cheer and feel I’m supporting a business that values it’s employees and community. Also has a great selection of organic and health conscious products and produce!

BY FAR the best experience at Angelo CAPUTOS. I have been coming to Caputo since childhood my grandma used to bring us here as children. Now they have an open bar and coffee bar and gelato and Café to come sit down and eat and chill with your family while you are shopping in the regular, super market. They even have slot machines and a place to sit down. I love that we’re all of this place and also have homely and welcoming. It made me feel every single person here has a sweet smile on their face. The person that helped me was Daniel P, he gave me samples of the different type of gelatos and also I ended up getting a Frappuccino with cappuccino gelato in it by far amazing taste, so good and so authentic. They also have a really nice meals to go and fresh pizza for big family events. I will def come back here!

I'm blown away.The birthday cake we ordered for Christmas was by far the least expensive, less than half the price quoted by another 1st rate bakery well known in Elgin.It far exceeded our expectations in every way. And the customer service was so OMG. HelpfulWhy go anywhere else?

I had been calling for veal scallopini slices or veal cutlets . Finally was able to pick up 2 packs. I want to say thank you to the butcher who ordered it and if they can please through lent as I celebrate Catholic and orthodox lent and Greek Orthodox Easter is May 5. It would be so nice knowing it would be brought in during Lenten season. Lastly the original seafood salad I was disappointed in yrs ago it was all whole octopus whole squid plus cut up as well no onion very little celery and just vinegar and a good olive oil EVOO , could you please go back to making it the true Italian way .Again thank you for ordering it. I must admit the packs that came with 8 pieces with a white brand paper wrapped over the airtight plastic seal veal cutlets aka scalopini was a much tender cutlet which you can see it was obviously milked since it was so white and tender , can you try to get that brand back again!!

Edit:After buying in this store for a year now, I’ve have bought pasta with bugs in them, and canned peas that were rotten. I’ve also purchased a pizza made by bakery with moldy ingredients.The employees are super helpful, but I avoid purchasing there.This has got to be the best fresh market I’ve been to!!! They have great variety of fresh food, bakery, liquor, they even sell pizza and other ready food. It’s a world in there! The employee are kind and helpful

I purchase box of mangoes in Caputo store in St Charles and they were still hard and after a couple days they were completely bad. Previously they were frozen and try to resale for any price and giving customer that product. This is not first time to purchase fruits in Caputo's and go so bad after a couple days.

Second Christmas I made a pre-order from their bakery and they couldn’t even find it. Almost handed me someone else’s order to take. Update your ordering system away from hand written order forms that clearly get easily lost. Ridiculous. Definitely ordering from somewhere else next year.

Very good produce. You can find a great variety of specialty items too. And like most grocery stores they have like 12 checkout lanes and only 2-4 are ever used.

So you might think that on-line shopping and curbside pickup is scary! Well look at what I got for $42 at Caputo's on Randall in South Elgin. Now the real story is that everything is just as it would have been had I picked it myself. What a wonderful store and their service is the best!!! Thanks so much!!! If you go there look for the fresh made daily mozzarella...

Great selection. They have a lot of Italian choices here; cheese, pasta, sauces, and more. They have sushi, great breads, and amazing produce.My only issue is that their prices are high.

This store is amazing. It has a small “home store” feel to it which makes it all the better. I’ve never seen a grocery store with a staff that is so dedicated to customer experience. I’ve also never seen a grocery store with a bar, but Daniel at the bar is my new favorite St. Charles bartender because he’s so easy to talk to. He keeps a clean space and has great suggestions. And Molly from the front always goes out of her way to make my kids smile. Really can’t recommend this store enough to all my friends.

I can find anything I need here for different recipes I want to cook. The meat is fresh, which I appreciate. I won’t say names but there is another grocery store in the area whose meat seems old, nasty, not fresh. I can’t shop there anymore because I don’t want salmonella or food poisoning, you know those types of things.

Love their homemade mozzarella and marinated artichokes. Caputos could be a day trip for me. Competitive pricing and you get what you pay for. Highly recommend.

Selling items especially Foods in a nice clean environment is just smart. However how you deal with your problem or customer's problem makes you stand up or go down.A few weeks ago I went to the store in South Elgin to return a can of feta cheese since it was totally rotten and even though they told me on the phone that they will exchange it with no receipt once I got there all the way from Algonquin the manager Michael totally refused to do so. His reasoning was that I don't have the receipt, even though most places do not carry this type of cheese. I should have known since this happened once before with another refrigerated item. It may be a clean store but customers have no value in their eyes.

Great place to shop but I’m so disappointed on the bagging service. In this day and age they consistently use plastic bags and put 1 to 2 items in each bag. And the environmental state were in I would think they would offer an incentive to customers who bring in reusable bags. There’s so much plastic and waste. It’s quite disgusting. I tried to teach the check out person how to properly bag items the last three times they’ve been there. Seriously deters me from wanting to return.

Absolutely fantastic grocery store. Prices on brand-name items are a little high, but you can't get a better deal for fresh produce from all over. This is the only store I've ever been to that sells fresh okra pods, Chinese eggplant, etc.Very clean store, tons of options, great fresh produce, deli/meat counter, bakery, hot bar, etc.They also have a little bar area where you can get $2 drafts during the weekdays. I usually go and grab one of their sushi lunches and paired with a draft is the perfect treat!

Newly remodeled and a wonderful place to shop. The selection is very good. The produce department is second to none in the area. The meat department carries a wide variety of fresh meat and seafood. Tuesdays is senior day with a nice discount. Don't even get me started on the deli selection, cheese and deli department. Well worth the drive - you will not be disappointed
