I feel like he's okay for ordinary run of the mill situations, but if you have an actual emergency or need something beyond every day needs, go to someone more equipped to handle it. A very sorry experience with a dog kept in pain far longer than he needed to be, and might have been saved had he gone to a more knowledgeable vet.

Took our 2 (Grey n Booters) cats for a checkup and for vaccines. Rabies vaccine included. He did a great job. Cleaned our Grey's 🐈 ears and gave them a through checkup. Price was very reasonable. Attendant made sure our cats were comfortable. Will be going back. :)

Dr. Schreiber is the best vet you could use! I have been using him all my life for all of my animals, which includes, dogs, sheep, horses, and rabbits. He is always very thorough and takes every concern seriously. He is very calm with more difficult patients and is great taking his time to work with horses. Unfortunately, I have moved 3 hours away from his practice, but I still bring my dogs down for second opinions and serious surgeries. He definitely has saver several of my animals with emergency surgeries. Because of his care I have had several senior dogs live long happy lives! Currently I have a 13 year old German Shepherd that can comfortable hike 6 or so miles on rough terrain because of Dr. Schreiber. He is the only vet I will ever truly trust!

Great veterinarian! Office had a play vet area for my kids which they loved. Dr Schrieber and his staff were very caring and kind. With his care my pup passed a bowel obstruction and is super happy and healthy. Thank you!!

I've been taking my animals here for a little while now, and am really impressed with the clinic. He really cares about the animals, and the pricing is very affordable compared to other places. I've had a couple of my cats in for procedures, and everything has gone well, they follow up to make sure all is good, and overall the people there are super friendly and helpful. I've already recommended it to a couple people I know, and will continue to do so.

Dr Schreiber is an excellent Dr. He has a huge heart and cares for every animal he sees like they are his own. He makes house calls when necessary and his rates are very reasonable. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a vet.

My dog had an emergency c-section, and Dr. Schreiber and his wife spent several hours after closing time to save my dog and her singleton pup. The looks on their faces when they were able to save my pup showed how much it meant to them. There are no words for how I feel about how they treated me and my dog that day. Truly a wonderful vet who genuinely loves animals. Thank you so much for saving them Dr. Schreiber, and Mrs Schreiber. I will always recommend you to anyone I know with a pet.

Dr. Schreiber and his staff are friendly and caring. They provide top veterinary services and they follow up with any needed aftercare. Scheduling appointments is also great, in which you can typically get in within a week or sooner if needed.

Absolutely love the staff! They care so much. Been taking our Bernedoodle here since he was a puppy. They are extremely thoughtful and thorough. I’ve even been helped a few times on nights or Sundays. Dr. Schreiber’s staff treats your pet as it was their own. We love visiting!

Dr. Schreiber was the best. I had a rabbit with a lump in her belly. He got me one right away to look at her and a few days later had her in surgery to remove it. A month later while she was playing she got very sick and he went to the office on a Saturday to see what he could do for her. Unfortunately she didnt make it there. He was very sympathetic and explained everything very well. I will definitely go back. Thank you Dr. Schreiber

What a horrible experience.I had a reference for this vet for my two horses. The vet is alright - he has never done anything other than coggins and rabies. So I can't speak for his actual surgical skills. They rejected me on a Sunday emergency barn call when my horse wounded his eye. I have never been behind on a payment and have never been rude to them; for them to reject me for an emergency is just rude.His receptionist/possibly wife is a horrible human being. Every time I call to schedule an apt or asking for results on my tests I get complete lip. From the moment she answers the phone she is just the most rude, belligerent, nasty person to talk to.I don't recommend this vet to anyone. Don't know what the issue is but they are just horrible with customers. I'll take my money to Sara with Equine Medical Associates.

I would have rated him a 0 if I could have. Dr. Schreiber came highly recommended from a friend as a reasonably priced doc who truly cared. And my friend could not have been more wrong. When our 15 year old family dog whom we loved dearly got sick we took him to see Dr. Schreiber. He had been slowing down significantly, understandable since he was 15. But he couldnt keep any food down and was rapidly loosing weight and just wasting away. We truly thought it was going to be time to let him cross the rainbow bridge. When Dr. Schreiber said it was only a tooth infection we were over joyed, my husband paid our bill for the visit and some meds and food that was going to be gentle on his tummy, we scheduled a follow up and left. Our pup never could keep down the food or meds, so he gave us another med and different food again and we were told to call if we needed anything. Well again our pup could not keep anything down. We went back several times and Dr. Schreiber would hydrate him, a horrible procedure of sticking him several times with a huge needle to instill saline under his skin so it would then seep into his tissues. Which would perk him up only slightly for a day but never really did anything. We went back several times and asked Dr Schreiber if it could be something else and he refused to explore and other ideas as to what was truly going in. And in fact when we told him that nothing he was doing was working and had made the extremely hard decision that it may be time to put him down, Dr. Schreiber actually yelled at us. Scolding us for the very idea of putting a dog down for "A tooth infection". So then, feeling like jerks, we continued yet more hydrating therapy and meds. We finally had enough when even the hydrating treatment no longer did anything for him and our poor guy layed on the kitchen floor without moving for an entire day. I couldnt watch him suffer anymore. We went over to Hawthorne in Edwardsville and had him layed to rest. I regret the over $1,000 spent at Schreibers office poking and prodding our beloved B Boy, but I regret more that that was how he spent his last days with us. I was so angry about that that I had to wait awhile to make this review because I didn't want to say something I may regret. We had a follow up scheduled with Dr. Schreiber's office when we left the last time. And it is now months later and no one ever called to see how he was when he didnt show up. That tells me all I need to know about Dr. Schreiber. To be treating an animal for a month who was so obviously in trouble and to not even care enough to call and check on that animal when they miss an appointment, just disgusting.

I can't say enough good about Doc!!! My Mojo is 16, and he was dying, and I wasn't ready for him to go, so I took him to Doc. Doc worked his magic, and Mojo rallied, and now sitting right here beside me. Doc and Candy have been so kind not only to me, but so loving to Mojo. Mojo had alot of work done on him, poked and prodded, and in the middle of it, Doc stopped, picked up Mo and just loved on him. He talked so gently to Mo. You can tell he really loves animals, and what he does. It is a 40 mile drive one way for me to get to his clinic, but well worth the drive for me, to know my fur babies are being taken care of by a Dr. who truly cares! Thank you sooo much!!!!

Total waste of time. I had an appointment for 11:00am for my pig. I got there at 10:50 and went in to let them know that I was there because once I picked her up I wouldn't have any hands to sign in. The doctor said it would be a minute so I went back outside. At 11:02 I went to bring my pig inside and he met me at the door and said he wasn't ready for her and that I needed to wait outside. I waited outside until 11:20 and he hadn't come out to tell me anything. I left and made her an appointment elsewhere. All around he's super rude and very unhelpful.

Knowledgeable country veterinarian who is also compassionate and understanding. Dr. Schreiber will accept patients of all sizes from hermit crabs and mice to large livestock animals like cows, mules and horses.

With his wife in hospice care Doc Schreiber got up at 2:30 am on a Sunday morning to take care of an emergency for us. You won't find much better people then Edmar Schreiber.
