I've been in this store a few times now and have had decent experiences. The people have been friendly and it's really convenient to have a place to just pop in and grab something quick. Tonight I was grateful to get there a few minutes before closing to grab some last minute items I wouldn't have time to grab tomorrow. At least I was grateful til I walked on the door to be met with a rude employee who approached and rudely told me "we are closing in five minutes, what do you need?". I told him I was just grabbing a couple things for breakfast and quickly went about getting them and proceeded to check out. Same employee critiqued my entire purchase telling my food choices were "weird" and "overpriced". Like it's my fault that my choices are limited in a small convenience store? I was very glad to just leave and I'm certainly not going to be doing any more last minute late night stops. So if that was his goal, I guess he accomplished that. I don't want to knock the whole store over one person, who even told me that his manager had instructed him to stop telling people how expensive things were. But, this was a very uncomfortable experience for a woman walking into an mostly deserted store to be met with this behavior.

Monday February 6, 2023 at 3:30pm, one of your employees that looks like AL Bundy is very rude towards women, he likes yelling at them because he has an attitude problem, is going to get DG sued some day me and five other people are not shopping there anymore including me

It's nicely organized compared to others I've been too locally. It's nice to have that option to run and grab a few things instead of going all the way to Walmart. It's easily in walking/biking distance for those of us who live in town.

The employee at the register is always happy and helpful. Today he went above and beyond to help a client I had there shopping. The cart she was pushing had a stiff wheel.( she is in her 90's) He got some wd40 and oiled the wheels so it rolled better.

So convenient....and great customer service. Everyone always has a smile on their face. Even the late night guy he's an awesome guy. Everything is always clean and organized. Keep up the good job guys. Thank you.

Overall good service! Staff were quick to give out masks to those who didn’t have them. Wide selection of food drinks and essentials. Nice little town store

The staff here are all very polite and neat/interesting characters. Store is kept clean and someone always greets you. Great local Dollar General by far.

Store was clean and organized but only one person on a register with a line of 10 people to check out. The cashier was doing his best to keep up but they need more staff at the registers

Why is the Somonauk store closed on Tuesdays now while they restock after their deliverycomes? Poorly managed. The signs on the door state they are having register issues. Put anotheron it when the delivery comes in!

Who is in charge of this place? Why aren’t they running this place better?You are the ONLY store in town. Order products, fix the registers, and hire people who can do the job. It’s PAINFUL to shop at this location

Cleanest and biggest Dollar General in the surrounding areas. The isles are a bit narrower but they also carry more stuff. They have a pretty decent snack section and you can get wet'n'wild makeup there if your in a pinch and can't make it to Walmart.

Place is always kinda messy like they can't get product put away. Also seems like they're out of stuff alot. The staff if always friendly and helpful tho.

Usually has what you need, opens and closes at decent times, never really have to wait to check out, and attentive customer service/sales clerk.

A lot of stuffs, its a little big place but seems like its a little crowded. Its so cute you can buy some products in a small package for your travels.

This is the store in Somonauk, I'm so thankful for that store! The help is always helpful store is always cleanI am a senior citizen so it's nice to have the store so close to us! I pray it stays here!

Now this isn't my preferred DG, and I probably won't be going back unless I have to. Staff is mostly rude, and act like you ARE AN INCONVENIENCE! Rude staff beware remember your customers keep your store open!!

DG is nice for us small towns but sometimes walmart is still cheaper which is bad it's a dollar store walmart should not be cheaper than dollar store

It’s hard to get my dg coupons since I get no cell service inside the store. I don’t seem to have this problem in other locations.

Never have a problem there...sometimes there's a line but just be patient and the staff knows what the store carries so if unsure just ask.

It's not a "dollar" store as in $1 for anything. However, they have a decent selection and it's a good convenience store.
