After a long day of travel, I was looking forward to being able to set up and relax. The site we were given was plenty long enough but barely wide enough to open the slides on both sides. The neighbor had a picnic table that was so close that I had to sit on it to connect the stinky slinky, and the entire area was a mud pit.I, like others, didn't see any disclaimers about the sports club next door. As a Veteran with a bit of PTSD the constant gun fire was anything but relaxing. I get it, you don't list something like that on the top of your amenities or nearby attractions. As others have said, this is probably a great place for the majority of the sites which are full with seasonal campers. We are just passing through and will avoid staying here on future trips.Noteworthy details: Be aware. There is a gun club next door and you will hear regular gun fire.

I don’t understand how someone can charge $50.80 and the bathrooms are absolutely horrible!! I’m afraid to go all the way in!!!

The trees shaded areas are lovely with big beautiful trees. The playground is available all the time and a great place for kids to play.We are a family of 6 and the pool and mini golf were a big draw for us as we were just passing through and needed a place for an evening of fun and relaxing. We were very disappinted with the very tight rv site we were gived. They stacked us all right next to each other! It was very unhandy for our family. The fire bit was too close to our vehicle to even use! Meanwhile there were more unused sites. We were offered another site after we already set up.we were very disapointed to learn The pool closed at 545.(that about the time wee arrived) when I called the after hours number to ask about mini golf they said because the office is closed we can't get clubs and balls and the only way to use it is if we had our own along. It seems this campground is more geared towards seasonal customers as there are alot of them there. and the sites for non seasonal is direcly next to a skeet shooting range!! thankfully we had loud fans inside our camper to dull the noise. We will not be returning.

Very nice laid back campground. Many unique seasonals all around this little ‘community’. We found this gem of a stop as an alternative to driving through the Chicago area when traveling back from the east heading back to SE Wisconsin. East of the campground in El Paso you will find two awesome Antique stores and a great Mexican restaurant.

What a great experience! Stayed 2 nights and we had a great time. Easy in and out with a pull through site (#7). Very well maintained campground with very friendly people. Our daughter loved the playground. The seasonal guests were very nice as we walked around admiring their setups. Can't wait till our next stay.

The owner seems to be the only person you are able to deal with when it comes to canceling a reservation and getting a refund. Our family had an unexpected medical issue which caused us to have to cancel our reservation the weekend of the Halloween festivities - which they filled our spot due to wait list - and I have called 5 times if not more and left messages for owner requesting a call back for refund due to our unforeseen circumstances instead of credit with NO response. Have even called during times staff said she would be there with no answer. Staff acts as if they have no way of contacting her - via cell or email - only to leave a written message which she never receives or simply disregards. We have camp here many of years and will not be back!

Nightmare. Unless you're a regular. One of them shared their AC DC with the entire campground up until midnight...... Shame on me for not looking at the small print on quiet hours. Shame on hickory Hill for allowing one group to affect so many others experience. Owner moved me "for my own good" directly behind the pavilion where I specifically did not want to be. Tenters especially move on!!!

We phoned ahead to inquire about this camp ground as we wanted to take our child camping for the first time. We specifically asked about noise levels as we knew it was close to the highway. They told us it was very quiet and that you couldn't hear the traffic. Now imagine my surprise reading all these reviews about gunfire and all night parties and clicky permanent campers! Not one mention of this on the phone! Just eveything we needed to hear to get us out there. Had I packed up the car drove all the way out there and then found this out by some disclaimer upon check in... well annoyed would not be an accurate word.

Nice campground…with the exception of the hail of gunfire from the skeet shooting 100 feet from our site. It is 9:15pm and it has not stopped all afternoon. They even have stadium lighting so they can keep shooting in the dark. Not really the relaxing atmosphere we were hoping for at $40 a night.

We spent 1 night at Hickory Hill Campground at $40 per night with FHU. We were assigned site F, a long level pull-thru. All utilities worked as desired, we received 19 OTA TV stations. Verizon and AT&T both worked well. The campground WiFi is normal campground WiFi speeds. Lots of huge trees and well cared for grass. The campground does have: a fenced in pool, showers (dated but clean), miniature golf and two playgrounds for the children. There is a small store/office. There appears to be many long-term residents, but their sites are neat and clean. It appears the favorite past time is driving around and around the campground in their golfcart. (it’s like a parade) This continued well after dark. Many golf carts did not have head lights. There is a sportsman gun/shooting range next door. So, you will hear gunshots throughout the day.

Had an enjoyable breakfast brunch with friends at their campsite followed by playing bags game. Beautiful weather. However, due to the campsites being so close to each other, I probably won't camp here. It is a convenient location as it's just 30 minutes from home. It does have an outdoor pool.

We stayed here in August 2017 for 5 nights in our 5th wheel. Our 4 granddaughters stayed with us. We are not normally campers who stay in campgrounds with permanent sites, but we were VERY impressed with this one. It is obvious that the owners take great pride in their facility and work very hard every day to make it even better. They have obviously invested huge amounts since purchasing the campground, and it shows! The campground is clean, pleasant, and has lots of things to do. We took great advantage of the mini golf range for one. We also enjoyed walking around looking at the elaborate permanent sites. Some have invested impressive amounts in their pleasant sites. The gun club next door is "there", but not that big of a deal. It should not deter anyone from staying here! Thanks to Ron, Krista, and all the staff for making our stay memorable!

My family liked it so much we're already booked for 2 nights this weekend. The gun range next door didn't really bother us or our dogs and it ceased in the late afternoon. Nice in-ground pool. Free mini golf and horse shoes while many campgrounds charge you for everything. Probably the coolest part about Hickory Hill is that about 2/3's of the sites are permanent residents who take great pride in their sites and the home additions they've added. This campground is not only pet friendly, but it is golf cart central. My wife and I plan on upgrading to a toy hauler at some point so we can also enjoy using a golf cart for transportation around the park.

Campground was nicely shaded with trees and very nice. The BIG downfall for us is the whole evening up to 9:00 was filled with very loud and annoying trap shooting is what we were told. We were just there for an overnight and will not do it again.

Noisy all night long! Campground is mainly for seasonal and yearlong residents so not conducive to those passing theough and wanting to sleep. Loud talking and parties until 1am. Staff leaves at 8:00 pm so no one monitoring quiet hours. Pool is packed with kids diving from sides. Site 68 is not really a site. Just a skinny sliver of space wedged between another site and a large bank of utility meters. Dont book it. Staff is friendly.

Absolutely outragious. No pitbulls or rotties allowed as if any dog breed couldnt be aggressive, and TWO campers had pitties apparently allowed but ours wasnt????? even though hes on a LEAD.. 5 dollars a day for your OWN golf cart and had to pay over 95$ just to stay the weekend. never coming again.

So close to a 5. The tent campsites were much smaller than I expected. I was told I would get my deposit check back upon checkout. I didn't realize that there would be no one in the office until noon. We were ready to go home about 11 and so we had to wait an hour for someone to be at the office. There was a number on the door to call, but it went to voice mail. We would have been able to hang out in the game room, but there's no signs so we didn't know where it was. We also assumed that because the pool was closed and the mini golf items were locked in the office, it was likely that the game room would be closed too.

Was super excited when we pulled in. Got a little lost as they have permanent sites and just stopping in sites numbered the same... no fire pits to speak of, just fires in the grass... got ashes all over myself trying to put out our small fire... tree stump right in front of our camper door we were tripping over all weekend.Plenty for the kids to do if you sign in for everything and follow your kids around like a helicopter.90 percent of the sites are permanent sites, it’s very clicky.Super nice staff though.

Well maintained grounds, friendly staff. Bathrooms were unventilated, un-air conditioned, and in desperate need of update. Looks like mostly for seasonal or permanent residents,The killer was the shooting club next door, shooting skeet till after dark. If you are sound sensitive or have a pet that is this is torture. If not and you use the bathroom in your unit it might be fine.

Great for non tent camping. We were in a tent. Mostly rv's and the like. Alot for little ones. Like playgrounds & minigolf There's a pool but it's small- probably best for little ones. Very friendly staff. Many occupants have places there year round.if you're not a regular there the guests are very unfriendly. BUT that may be different for a family with little ones. The semi permanent spots seem small- but im not a trailer or rv camper. If you're a young family you might be pleased.

The staff were friendly and the camping was average, but my low rating comes from the site. I was in site F and there is about an 8 inch up hill grade to sewer hookup. It might be ok if I had a 5th wheel, but not a travel trailer. They should know this. I had to keep picking up my sewer line to get it empty which made it really hard to clean out my tank. Will never stop again.

Very nice campground, but they asked me at the desk if the sound of gunfire bothered me because they had a gun club close by, I said no, not realizing how close it was, only 100 ft away from my camper.unfortunatly I wouldn't recommend this RV park.

The 1st 4 times at Hickory Hills this year, we drew lot #6. I was very happy to receive that lot 4 in a row so we could beat the curse of "666". The new owners are GREAT. We have yet to meet any rude campers or permanent campers. I will not comment on the old owners except to say, maybe, just maybe, they stayed on lot #6 ONLY 3 times in a row. We love this place!!!
