We were staying at the Hyatt Regency up the street for a labor conference and people kept on saying we had to try the Chicago hotdogs. So after a quick Google search, we found this place. I gotta say I love the decor and the style of the old-school theme. These are my type of places from the moment we walked in the door. The people behind the counter were very personable and friendly, and willing to take our order quickly. They showed us the specials, told us about the food and we proceeded to order. I ordered two Chicago hotdogs with french fries and a soda and also a beef sandwich. I got to tell you they don’t serve hotdogs like this in Philadelphia. These hotdogs Were absolutely amazing and very flavorful and the beef sandwich was just added this to me. The beef was so tender and juicy in the roll soft and fresh. If you’re ever in the area, make sure you put this on your short list of places to visit. I wish them nothing but the best in the future with their business.

A perfect Chicago neighborhood hot-dog and Italian beef joint. Tried it on a whim since I've been away from town so long and needed my beef fix. Delicious peppery beef, flavorful sausage, hand cut fries perfectly brown.Cute little place, worth taking a chance on.

Unfortunately I didn’t get the pleasure of ordering from here first hand because I’m sure it would be 10 STARS! I received my Uber eats order cooked to perfection and so delicious I had to hid in a corner to enjoy and avoid all the questions of what smelled so good! I ordered a a 2 Hot Dog combo, Chicago style with a mango ‘drink’. The fries were good and I don’t usually like fries. The drink was surprisingly a mango sorbet and I was more in love! I thought I was ordering a lemonade and it was better than expected. Perfect combo. The service was SUPER FAST, especially for a Uber order!! I will be back for sure.

The epitome of Chicago hot dogs and sandwiches. They don’t make it like this anywhere else, this is a must have if you’re looking for something authentic. The atmosphere and decor is great, nostalgic and welcoming. The service is quick and friendly. The prices are almost as good as the taste. Where else can you get a nice meal under ten bucks??

This is everything I love about the Chicago area. Never had tried Frannies and when I was greeted I told the gentleman behind me to go ahead, it's my first time here and just looking at menu. After a moment, he says "I recommend the dbl steak Italian hot". Boom. Just a great sandwich and fries, served by good people, with proud Chicago customers. My recommendation, it all looks great!

This place in a small, converted house with an old school deli vibe was highly rated and I had to give it a try while I was in town. Orders are called out like a Waffle House or maybe the SNL Cheeseburger skit ("No hamburger. Cheeseburger.").First thing I had to try was the Italian ice. It's the real deal, so freaking good. Next came the Chicago dog. It is legit, though I'm surprised it's not on the traditional poppy seed bun. Otherwise it's perfect and stands up to those offered by the better known places.The fries are good, but I'm kinda over fries these days.I later tried the burger. It was juicy and perfectly seasoned. A little heavy on condiments, but I only mention that because it makes the burger so messy.My fiance declared the Italian beef to be fantastic, as well as the tiramisu.Great people, fun conversations, and great prices.Five stars for the food, 5 for the prices, 5 for atmosphere, and 5 for the Italian ice. Five all the way!

Beef house extraordinaire! I had a beef with sweet and hot peppers, and the hot peppers were the highlight -- made on premises and super fresh. Added a crispness and flavor not usually experienced with the average Italian Beef. Great fresh cut fries. And the whole staff was helpful and super friendly. Clean, bright roomwith retro touches. Don't miss it!

Flew from Reno to Chicago to see my son play lacrosse in the Milwaukee area. Had to stay in Chicago over night due to problems with our rental car. Happen to stay right next to Frannie"s Beef. So glad we stopped for a Italian beef and sausage combo sandwich. I have been craving a good italian beef sandwich since my last trip to Chicago. This place is an icon. Definitely will be stopping here again.

I may not be the absolute authority on Chicago cuisine, but I can confidently proclaim that this place is one of the best Chicago has to offer. My friend and I both got some italian beef, fries, and lemonade, which were all killer. The beef was incredibly flavorful and juicy, the fries were perfectly crisp, and the lemonade was very refreshing. Try it! And make sure you get your beef wet.

Visiting from Alabama, picked up my car, ordered a hot dog. GPS drove me around for 15 minutes. It was -15 , roads icy. We don't see stuff like this in Birmingham. I walk in and see 6-7 nice looking men in rolled up sleeve, black tee shirts. It was like a breath of fresh air. I had to take my coat off when I got to my car. Whooh! The hot dog was amazing, as well!!

I'll start off and say huge fan of Jay's beef.. I kind of grew up on it.. finally came here to Frannies And it did not disappoint.If I had a side-by-side from this to Jay's beef I don't know if I'd be able to tell the difference.Love their beef love their fries their hot peppers are homemade fresh and delicious.Can't wait to go back!

I really enjoy the Chicken Sandwiches from here! I usually just get a Chicken Sandwich & Fries, then I'll purchase a drink from the gas station down the block.I thought the Pizza Puff was really good (shown in photo). I split it with my husband and he enjoyed it as well. He ordered an Italian Beef & after trying a bite I thought it was delicious too.There is parking on site and I've never had issues finding a spot.

Came here for lunch and the people were inviting, the older gentleman took my order and my food came correctly ordered and hot.Observed how they spoke to each other and other people who came in for lunch and they were all very attentive if one of them were busy with getting orders ready.Everyone that walked out received a have a good day.Team made sure tables were wiped down after people left.Food is delicious. I ate it to quickly to take a pic lol.Good spot! Amazing food, good atmosphere.

I did not want to leave Chicago without having a ChicagoDog so I walked to Frannie's. I'm usually not a fan of veggies but when I took a bite out of that hotdog, the taste just made sense ( no ketchup needed). Fries and hotdog were good and the price is pretty cheap.

If you think that Portillo's beef is the best, think again. This gem of a business is the best hands down. This was my spot till I moved to Florida. I am home visiting and have been to Frannies 2 days in a row. Will definitely 💯 go back again. Everything is delicious. You can't miss order anything.

Affordable prices, huge selection of all your Chicago favorites. Had Pizza puff, Italian beef, fries, and hot dogs. All were very good. Clean interior and plenty of seating on the patio area. Cost us $28 to feed all six of us.

I'll admit firsthand, when I'm in the area, I typically go to Johnnie's, HOWEVER, it was cold and we were hungry. I was in no way surprised at the quality, as I'd heard nothing but good things about Frannie's, and they were almost all right. I got it to go, and even tho I had my sandwich dipped, it was just a hair dry. Which, it's take out and things happen. Still 5 stars, the fries, ravioli, and the cannoli were great. (Seriously get a cannoli or 7 they're awesome.) Would recommend.

real italians... Simply put, real Italians. There's no substitute.....they know EXACTLY what they're doing.... An italian beef is an easy make.... Very difficult to make it terrible..... frannies.... Is the best i've ever had...... Portillo's terrible they went public on the stock market ever since...its a sht show... Portillos food is garbage....FRATILLOS IN VOLO IS GOODC,.... BUT FRANNIES IS PERFECT...they blow-away every competitor...and their answer......is to keep it simple and PUT QUALITY BEFORE QUANTITY...
