It's just a nice place to visit , old-time wood floors that creek . I thought I saw boot spur marks even . They have the best meat counter , the breakfast sausage is the best you will ever find . They seem to know what people need out in the boonies, and have it. Not always your brand, but it will do items . The old timer butcher ( Pat ) will cut any meat to way you like it . They don't carry much Chicken in farm country ! If you want chicken you will need to run one down at the local farmers . Thats what Country folk do .

I love going to the Country House grocers, especially for their great Butcher shop. Melissa has great fresh sausage, and ribeyes to die for!! 😍😍

I absolutely adore this place. Small town local meat and produce always fresh. The staff are always extremely welcoming and kind and engaging in friendly conversation. The highest sense of community can be found in this tiny little store and I believe that’s something to be valued. I’ve never left this place without a smile and anything I can’t forage I can find here. This place will remain my go to for grocery items.

Went to this nice store to get lunch meat and a few other thing. The people were very nice and the prices were right were I thought they would be. Very nice variety on meats of every kind. Yes I will be back👍😃😀

What a wonderful find in Scales Mound, Illinois! A great little grocery store in the center of town!Melissa and her crew are awesome folks to do business with. I don't know if ya'll are aware of the gorgeous floral department with great choices to pick from, the kindness that prevails and of course the smiling faces that are happy to meet/see you:) Thank you for your service to the community.

If you like superb hand cut meats to order, a wide variety of grocery items and great customer service, this is the place! If they don't have it, just ask and they truly will try to get it! Highly recommend the Country House Grocery!

This town is that changed since it's been built minus the paved roads. Super Cena this particular country House grocery store has a lovely clean environment. Friendly staff if you need to use the restroom just ask it's in the back LOL

Nice little town grocery store.. The owner was Very gracious. We were there at 3pm, so they were Out of there cinnamon rolls.But.. She gave/sold us "frozen" unbaked ones that she Uses every morning. Explained how to defrost/proof/ and bake them.. Yummy👍😊

Pat's meat is fresh and the lunch meat is awesome. I've had them make me a sandwich many times and they never disappoint. Great hometown store with service you won't find many places

We stopped in on a day that the regular restaurant was closed but the grab and go hot grilled Ruben was better than at most sit down restaurants I have order that sandwich in.
