I visited this restaurant with business associates for lunch on a weekday. The food and atmosphere were excellent but the wait time was long. We didn’t mention we were in a hurry and we weren’t, but the time it took to get food and service was excessive. One may argue that’s because the food was so fresh and tasty, it takes longer to prepare things from scratch. But the wait time may seem “not as long” if we had more visits from the waitress to update us on status and to offer refills, etc. I would rate them 4.5 out of 5 if possible because the food and cupcakes were excellent. Hopefully next visit, the speed of service will be better managed and I will update to a 5 star rating then. I would definitely recommend this place since it’s a great local spot for a comfy meal in a nice environment.Update: even though they were short-staffed, our latest visit upgrades this review to 5-stars. The service was excellent and so was the food!

I loved working with Fatt Cat Cafe for my wedding cupcakes! The owner, Pat, is so lovely and accommodating. I didn't expect the cupcakes to look nearly as beautiful as they did, but the Fatt Cat team took the time to add beautiful winter flare to each cupcake. We went with Fatt Cat for cupcakes for our wedding (instead of cake). Because we lived so far from the venue, we just trusted their recommendation and ordered cupcakes from here without trying them, and it was a gamble that paid off. Guests kept coming up to us and saying the cupcakes were SO good, and the presentation was beautiful. Especially considering price points, I highly recommend Fatt Cat cupcakes for any event!

Fatt Cat is my favorite lunch spot with my mom, and favorite cupcake stop with my son! We recently had my sons 3rd birthday party catered by Fatt Cat. Pat (the owner) knocked the food out of the park! The pulled pork and sloppy joe were a huge hit! The Italian pasta salad is addicting and the coleslaw was so creamy. Fresh fruit and bags of chips added as delightful sides as well. Now the cupcakes… They Were Amazing! We had strawberry, Boston crème, cookie dough and lemon. I couldn’t decide which I liked more, they were all mouth watering and absolutely satisfying! There’s not enough great things I could say about Fatt Cat, the owner, staff and atmosphere. I highly recommend the brunch or lunch, and I always recommend the cupcakes!!!

Unique local cafe ope from 11:00 to 3:00. Good food, service, surroundings both in and out. Reasonably priced. Great cupcakes. If you are in they Rockton, Il. Area it’s a place to visit.

Nice cozy place to eat, I had the daily special a BLT Chicken wrap with fries. It was delicious and perfect for a lighter lunch which is what I was after, friendly service and then these beautiful homemade cupcakes, FYI I bought every cupcake in the picture. I will be back again and again.

Meant my wife there for lunch on her lunch break. I got there a little early to place the order. The waitress brought the menu, told her I wouldn't need it we knew what we wanted. She said hold on I'll be back, she then asked a few other tables if they'd like dessert as I waited 15 min for her to return wife had already got there. She came to take our order she brought us our pop no straws, no big deal but we asked for straws she returned with one said she'd be back with the other, never returned with it. She then brought the food out and walked away not asking if my wife would like a refill as her glass sat there empty. She even said hold on as we said excuse me. She never came to ask how the food was or we needed anything. I was looking forward to trying a cupcake but after seeing her bring a serving platter to other tables of the cupcakes and watching her touch several as they sat in the center of the table with the other customers breathing, coughing I changed my mind quickly. I usually tip 35% of the meal but in this case I chose not to tip since I felt she did an awful job. I watched another table sit there 10 min. Waiting for her to collect the payment. So when they paid I paid to avoid another wait. When I left NO tip she mumbled something under her breathe as we were walking out. I said excuse me what did you say as I expected she said nothing. Bottom line food was ok but the service made the decision easy to NEVER RETURN! AND LEAVE THIS REVIEW!!

There we're 3 of us and we had the pulled pork sandwich, the chicken/bacon wrap, and a Reuben sandwich. We all thought the food tasted absolutely delicious. We also loved the garden out back. Service was great!

Food was delicious! Tasty, buttery, flaky croissant sandwich. Dessert was wonderful - peach, blueberry and almond crumble warm with ice cream - yummy!! And we got cupcakes to go! Kids loved the cupcakes as a special treat.

We couldn't have picked a better random restaurant to stop at on our road trip. The food was delicious, Kim was fun and she sure knew her cupcakes. Her description was so enticing that we bought them all. Highly recommend.

The service was slow, the waitresses kept shhhhing us and the other group that was there. Not very professional. Very disorganized knowing they had reservations for 2 groups. It took forever to get the checks. They had to keep verifying who had what. Never got an offer for a refill on my iced tea. Kept having to ask for missing items. The food was good. The place is cute. Overall a 2.

Amazing food and service! Came here after a dance competition and found out they were closing in 15 minutes. They told our group to come on in and fired up their kitchen to accommodate us. The food was amazing, the cupcakes were to die for and the service can’t be beat. Can’t wait to come back!

Food was decent, everything else was awful. It took about 20 min for the waitress to take our order and the place was empty. Took about 40 minutes for the food to come out which was burgers and a chicken sandwich. She also didn't come by to refill my coffee until the end of the meal so over an hour from when I got it. A cafe meal should be 90 minutes long. The place was also freezing I wore my winter jacket the entire time and it wasn't that cold outside maybe ~35 degrees.Overall do not recommend.

Not fair to judge once on service but it's hard to take another chance.. We spent 2 hours on a Sat afternoon for lunch because the service was so slow. Only 1 waitress. Not her fault but she really couldn't handle it all..and I don't know that anyone really could. Food was okay, nothing over the top. Maybe coffee is the better choice next time.v

We rented Fatt Cat Cafe for a Surprise Roaring 20’s themed party. The staff was great! We had a wonderful time. We loved the location and the eclectic array or antique decorations.

Soup was not hot....barely warm. Servers need to get soup from bottom of the pot. Also cream of spinach, not much taste and way too thick. Chicken sandwich: bread toasted too crusty and some funny sweet taste in the chicken salad. Iced tea cloudy, but ok.

We live in Roscoe and had heard good things about Fatt Cat however we found the service to be deplorable. Twice someone said they would be with us in a minute but after 30 minutes no one even bothered. We ended up leaving and going else where. Wish we had a chance to try their food but don't believe we will be going back after this experience.

A quiet location in a large, fully rennovated house Fatt Cat Cafe has very nice ambiance. The menu offers a nice variety to suit any craving. The desserts are to die for! You will not be disappointed.

My favorite place to lunch with my daughter! Great southwest salad and the broccoli quiche is wonderful. Cupcake for desert is a must!!!
