I got a cat named boo and she died the one week I first got her so then we took her back to the shelter crying. It was really heartbreaking to do especially since she was only 2month old but there empathy was really good and we had good service there. I went back and just looked for another cat and then I found the one Phillip an orange tabby he was nice soft and cuddly so we wanted to take him even tho boo died not even a day ago we cleaned the house got everything ready for him then picked him up but me and my aunt decided that his name didn’t match him so we named him mars. So all in all costumer service is good and the place is clean the only real reason boo died is because of how young she was to get surgery so I give you a 4 star

Called about two stray dogs. The first car drove past the house and then when we called, they said they took it off the report since they were in our yard. We had them on leashes so it would be easier for animal control to get them.

Gave away a dog to a rescue place and claimed said dog would never be allowed to be adopted instead of giving the information of where it was sent. All done well after an application to adopt the dog was put in. The person in charge of adoptions does not seem to care about the animals and finding them homes.

If I could give 0☆s I would. My husband tried to take a dog he found in winnebago county here because that's where the owners would most likely look for their missing pet. They refused to take the dog because my husband's driver's license was for a different county and told him he could either take the dog to our county shelter 2 county's away or dump the dog back off where he found it. Word for word what the lady at the front desk told him. HORRIBLE service. Please don't spend your money here or support them when they don't care about the animals in the community.

Our experience with this facility is always a good one. The staff are professional and work really hard to get your family paired with the right companion. Animals are well kept and handled with care. Stop in for a visit, I guarantee you'll fall in love.

This place is a good place to find that special pet. We adopted our dog Ollie from there last weekend. He's a pit mix and is great with our smaller dog.The staff was friendly and the handlers in the kennel were very nice and were able to educate us on every dog we met. I liked the process of the introductions to the family and then to our dog. The adoption was easy and inexpensive thanks to the folks that sponsored Ollie. The only two critiques I have is that they should probably put acoustic material in the kennels to reduce the noise for not just the people, but the poor pups. The other is that they neutered Ollie shortly before our scheduled pickup. He could hardly walk from the drugs that were still in his system. I just saw that as bad logistics. All in all a good experience and I feel more people should look to the shelter or other adoption places for a great pet.

Try to adopt an animal few months ago the volunteer coordinator told me to get out because I had a Behavioral problem and could not adopt a big dog because apparently my apartment building had big dogs which I could understand. I had my emotional support animal paperwork. She told me " she did not care and ripped up my paperwork” because I could not have a big dog. They have put me on a temporary do not adopt list until October.

Very Kind, and accommodated very well, I saw nothing but kindness and caring, but they can only do so much, they really try!! sThe small cages they are in for 10 days, mine weighed 65 pounds, I wish they had the funds to accommodate for the larger dogs. ( even though they let them out daily for a while, are just to small, and affected my support dog tremendously, It took him a good 6 months to get back to normal.but watch out, your animal WILL COME OUT OF A 10 DAY QUARENTINE WITH KENNEL COUGH, even though they gave my animal a preventative shot, and was then put on pills for it, they actually sent pills home with us, but we still had to get him treated again at our vet very very soon after, it did not go away until our vet prescribed him meds. Bottom line, make sure that you personally take full responsibility , know your pet, inside and out, temperment, how they react to strangers, etc. and take the very very necessary steps of the highest level of protection of your animal, and especially those who may come in contact with your animal. Do not expose your animal to the potential of a stranger in their presence, if you know your animal is trained to protect you. A big big lesson was learned, I finally took over ownership of the animal, and he is watched like a hawk., and all necessary precautions have been taken, to the point of myself moving , with my pet, securing him in proper ways, and , when my animal can handle new people if very very slowly introducing him to new people, and by having visitors CALL, BEFORE COMMING OVER, and if needed , I will put him in my bedroom with food and water , and close the door, until such time he is very slowly introduced. I have A FEW DESIGNATED REAS WHERE SIGNS ARE POSTED ", DO NOT APPROACE DOG UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE!!" AND I ALSO TOLD ALL OF MY NEIGHBORS THE PROCESS OF GETTING AND MEETING MY 70 POUND DOG . IF THIS IS DONE PROPERLY, I HAVE GREAT RESULTS...MANY NEIGHBORS CAN ENTER MY HOUSE OR YARD, WITH NOTICE FIRST, AND MY DOG AXEL TURNS ONTO A BIG BABY, AND JUSTS WANTS TO PLAY ALL DAY LONG, HE'S A HAPPY WE'LL ADJUSTED DOG, WITH A PERMANENT LOVING, SAFE HOME NOW, AS LONG AS THE RULES ATE FOLLOWED. I WILL LOVE HIM FOREVER, HIS NAME IS AXEL, SO ANYONE READING THIS, PLEASE LEARN FROM MY FAMILY'S MISTAKES, YOU DO NOT WANT TO LOSE YOUR PET DUE TO NEGLANCE, OR NOT TAKING THE PROPER PRECAUTIONS, EVEN IF THEY SEEM EXTREME, YOU WILL SAVE YOUR BELOVEDS PETS LIFE IF YOU LISTEN.

With Anne and Alex's excellent assistance, I was able to get Simon, my handsome white kitty with gold eyes. He is sweet as pie and my Siamese made him feel welcome. I have my two kitty boys and my house is complete. If you adopt, be prepared to wait as they are short staffed and everyone is working double time. They are kind, nice and definitely want to help so please be patient. My experience couldn't have been better and my new kitty says thank you.

I got two cats from here, Mars and Cira (formerly justice) within the span of a year. They quickly became the best of friends, and I've had absolutely no issues with either. The volunteers here really do care, and I'd definitely recommend trying to find your pet here.

I feel they are doing their best with a full kennel of animals. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The volunteers are kind and doing their best with their duties. It is a less than optimal situation for the animals. Again the staff are doing their best with what they have to work with.

You can tell the staff and volunteers care about the animals. I have but only one concern, which is one particular front staff person. She, and being professional will remain nameless may be a good employee, and may be great with the animals but has NO customer service skills. She should Not work directly with the public as it is a Reflection of All employees/ volunteers, our county and town. Expressing my concerns with others at the facility everyone knew exactly who I was speaking about before a name was given. So apparently their is an issue with her and it should be corrected, have her not work with the public or let go. I Would give 5 stars if the review was an overall post, but since it is about a staff person who has daily contact with the public I rate the post with 1 star.

We adopted a dog from this place. We already have a dog and took him to meet the dog. All seemed well so we went through with the adoption. The dog was on stray hold and we were told that the following Tuesday she would be spayed and we would have to pick her up Wednesday. Wednesday was a major ice storm so I inquired about picking her up Thursday. At first I was told that was fine but then received a call immediately afterwards telling me that since she had surgery we had to pick her up that day regardless of the weather. So we braved the weather to get her only to find out she didn't even have surgery as they found out she was already spayed. So we take her home and it's like a switch flipped. She became very aggressive towards our other dog as well as to the other members of my family. I called them to return her rather than someone getting bitten and the woman on the phone berates me saying they had put in a note about this type of behavior, I never saw any notes on the website or on any of the paperwork. Shady business for being county owned. Buyer beware.

There seems to be a lot of rules... so being new, I learned how "wrong" I was. Did my meet and greet, returned to find the front desk person was gone. Missed a sign in on my paper. Came back after 4:00 -- Wrong Again. "Come back tomorrow!!!!" "IT'S Posted ALL OVER." Excuse me for ruining your day....(hire better people)..Their bad day made it tough, and of course first come, first serve, opps.
