My experience at Whiteside County Animal Control was great! Krystal was so kind, helpful, and upfront with me throughout the whole process, that it really was a no-brainer for me to adopt Reese after our meet and greet.You can tell this place truly cares about the animals in their care, and they really do try to find the best home for them. I am so thrilled Reese got to come home with me! She was so well behaved for the 1.5 hour car ride home. As promised, here are some photos of Reese during her first day with me. I gave her a nice bath and she has no issues at all wearing doggy diapers around the house (she is in heat). All that considered, she is adjusting very well, and we look forward to having her spayed in about a month.Thank you again, Krystal, for giving us the newest addition to our family!Also, side note, they have a really cute office cat named Sugar-- I was told Sugar was the spawn of Satan when she first came in lol. It was so hard for me to believe that as she is so very sweet and was truly a Stage 5 Clinger when I was filling out the adoption paperwork for Reese! Don't overlook these animals that end up at the shelters--They are just as adorable and loving, often just in the waiting for their forever families. Please rescue and adopt if you can!

I adopted a Pitt terrier dog two weeks ago. Krystal and the staff were very friendly and helpful! The dog and I are getting along super great! They do a great job trying to find homes for the animal they are caring for!

Working in the animal control business is one of the hardest jobs in American society, thats why whiteside county should invest more in someone that is not so incompetent at the job they do. Please do not expect to receive anything but the ABSOLUTE bare minimum service. These people are not looking to help you nor care about you or the animal you know and love. Please if you do not like your job find another industry thats fitting. Change is good, if anything were to change in whiteside it should be how these people go about this business. Hope you have some self reflection <3

They worked with my family on when a fine and vet appointment for my pets but my pets came back super skinny after a week and one had a raw tongue.

They’re only in business for the money, seems like they could care less about the animals. I’m new to this area and never ever had issues with animal control where I used to live. They want to charge us for being 1 month late on getting our dogs their shots but can’t send a reminder? Terrible place and service.

My dog was locked up by animal control. He wasn’t gone for more than 15 minutes and they said it was a 165 dollars to pick him up WHAT WHY? Shouldn’t cost near that much. They did lower it a little bit but still that’s hoorible. Think about the dogs that have to stay in there cause the owner has absolutely no way of coming up with the money. Just greedy maybe a fee if he was there for a week or so but he wasnt even there more than an hour!

"James" is condescending, rude, has a severe lack of both compassion and de-escalation skills, and is completely unprofessional - while trying to get an incapacitated relative's animals rescued, he asked for her private medical information, including diagnosis, raised his voice at me over the phone when I was obviously upset, and literally said to me, "So what? You want us to take in these animals, house them, feed them, get them vet care?" That's when I hung up on him. My relative lives alone and the elderly neighbor who was kind enough to watch the animals can no longer do it, but according to "James" we can go pound sand, because she agreed to watch the animals - but she didn't agree to long term. I'll I understand there are legal issues to work around here but the way I was treated over the phone was horrendous. This man has zero compassion for humans OR animals.

Very rude when you call in. No care whatsoever for struggling families like mine when we can't afford fees being thrown at us for barely missing the "grace period" for updating rabies vaccination, which is scientifically proven to protect animals for well beyond one year. When I started crying because I was upset about the fact they didn't care that I'd barely missed the grace period, and they also stated that state law says they must be vaccinated, which my dog IS vaccinated against rabies. Once I leave this county and state, I'll be glad to not have to deal with their rudeness ever again. Hanging up on a crying customer who doesn't know how she's going to afford a $30 late fee shows zero compassion and very little care about the animals they own.

Never go again. Went to get a puppy we spent hours with... come him...he ro talk about adopting. We got refused! Because we had a wacko cat that attact everything and everyone h we got rid of it. They said we were unfit to have any of their animals. We were so great broken. We took in a homeless cat and he is perfect for our family! Hate judgmental businesses!

Can’t tell how many times I’ve talked them about my neighbors dog being off chain and constantly coming into my yard. Already had two dog fights but they won’t go over and talk to the people. Had to call police last time.
