I love my hatten. He has a pure heart, loves training, and is nice to look at. He comes from impressive European blood lines!Jim and Kim care about what homes their dogs go to, as any responsible breeder should.

I called to inquire about the pups that showed up as available on the AKC website. He quickly says that he has none available. Next he starts cursing me about after asking who I was talking to when I referenced I had spoken with another breeder in Detroit. This guy has a mental condition and I wouldn't trust me kids around any dog that he raises. I should've read to reviews before calling him. Ignorant, stuffy, and flat-out rude are a few words to describe him.

I picked up a Giant Schnauzer from Jim 2 weeks ago and have had such an incredible experience with the Hattens. Jim is very responsive and always willing to help. He sent us tons of puppy pictures as our puppy was growing up, and has continued to support us after pick up. We just talked today and he gave us some coaching on the puppy. You can tell that he really cares about his puppies.

Typical know-it-all dog Breeder. Extremely rude give him a call you'll see what I mean. I told him I wanted a dog with working line background. That was his opportunity to know everything and explain I knew nothing... burnout trainer at best. This is typical with experienced dog trainers where they just become bitter fucs that are just in it for the money.

We are very happy with the services we received from Jim and Kim. Because we live a distance from Rock Falls Jim chose our puppy for us. We couldn't be happier. Jim answered my numerous e-mails, and phone calls while we waited to get our puppy. We received our puppy with up to date vaccinations , cropped ear care instructions, supplies, diet help. They traveled to meet us so we wouldn't have to drive so far to get him. If your looking for a breeder that really cares for the puppies he sells and cares about the homes they go to look no further. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend these breeders. Thank you again. Jill

HeyWe bought our Giant Schnauzer 4 years ago and ... it was the best decision in our life ( ok - maybe kids to ...😉) I saw a few opinions about this breeder and:1) he cares about his puppies and probably won’t sell the puppies if you don’t have fence on your yard - after over 4 years with our Giant I know why...2) he’s very helpful- we lived in Chicago and he brings our dog to O’Hara airport so we don’t have to go...- and most important:3) he sold us great dog!!!!

I called to ask about liter availability and pricing of his dogs as we are trying to find a good breeder in driving distance. We were simply looking for a good house dog with no intentions of having a show dog. After I asked him about price and availability I said thank you and that I would call him back as I was interested. He said there are more important questions to ask than that and hung up on me. The guy seems to really not enjoy what he is doing. Sounded very uninterested and rude the entire minute I was on the phone with him.

The worst place to get a puppy!!!!We signed contract, paid full price, saw puppy and 2 days before picking up puppy, he calls and says “sorry, but the dog is not choosing your home. “ we asked whats wrong, and he couldn’t say, just that he is doing us a favor by not giving the puppy. Really? Favor? Tell that to our 2 kids! I bet someone offered better $$, or puppy was in much better shape then he expected.Kids hearts broken, crying. Today we would have a new member of the family, but...never could imagine that this is would happen.The stick has two ends, it will hit them back!And very rude personality of the breeder, he thinks that he knows everything .Never ever buy from them !!!!

Jim and Kim Hatten have been amazing with me. I just can't say enough good things about them. If you want a Giant I would buy from no one else. They love their dogs and want their babies to go to good homes. I have had my puppy "Zeus" for 2 months now. He is just BEAUTIFUL! People constantly ask me if he is a show dog. He's a healthy baby and just SOOOO INTELLIGENT! This is my first big dog and even after having him 2 months Jim still gets back to me quickly for every question I have. I rate Hattens Giants AAAAAAAA++++++++ If you are looking for a magnificent beast, this is where you'll find them :0)Do not believe any bad review you see on these guys!

Searched online for giant schnauzer breeders and this website came up. It gave picture, a map to the farm, a phone number and hours of operation. It stated open until 9pm, which I called as it was not closed yet. I was really excited to talk to a breeder as we have schnauzers and really wanted a new addition to the family. So I called, the phone rang, it then hung up and then I received a call immediately back. As I explained to the gentleman why I was calling etc. he proceeded to tell me that I was not looking at HIS website, there were no hours listed on HIS website and I tried to tell him they were and I'd be happy to take a picture and send to him. I mean come on, why would I make this up? Point is, he hung up on me. I proceeded to send him an email which is listed on his website and he responded back that he didn't want to sell to me because I was arrogant on the phone and lied about HIS website that he made. Hello? I called you looking for a dog, the hours were posted as well as your number. I thought that was the way to get a hold of you. I did not plan to argue with you regarding what your website had or didn't have. I just wanted to talk to someone about a dog, that is it, but he was more concerned about where I got the website ( ummm, the internet) and why I was calling. You don't hang up on customers, there was no need. This tells me a lot about someone's integrity and for that reason I would never buy a dog from this place and hope no one does. Should not be breeders.

Extremely rude on the phone. I was asking questions that I thought were very common and he told me he doesn’t update his website then hung up on me. Very displeased.

Couldn't be happier with my new best friend! Jim and Kim were easy to work with they even met me halfway to pick up the pup. Highly recommend this breeder.
