Had to return a drive belt for a lawn mower that I need running immediately. Had paid for it with a debit card. Upon returning I asked how soon the money would be back on my card. Needed it so I could afford a belt elsewhere. Was told it could take up to 24 hrs to show on my card. Because I needed it right away so I could buy a belt right away. I requested cash instead so I wouldn't have to wait. This is not right. I don't ask them to wait up to 24 hours to get my payment. No one else does. This is not right. Try contacting the owner. Impossible. That explains it all. It will be a cold day in hell before I do business at this store again

They always have what I need and the workers are very nice and helpful.Today I came in needing a few things but the prices have gone through the moon , like almost 20 bucks for a quart of paint.

I looked in every major retailer in Rockford for butcher paper to take my brisket and Boston Butt to the next level but couldn’t find it. Our Ace Hardware is great. It is always well stocked with great selection and lots of products. Service is friendly. Prices are somewhat high, but using the app helps. Someday I hope the parking lot gets a facelift...but that's not a big issue. So glad we have them in town.

I walked in wanting to buy a grill but needed more knowledge. I simply asked for someone who is a 'grill master'. Sure enough a great gentleman came up from the back and walked me through my decision process. I bought the best Weber for us. So thankful for the sage advice!

Glad to have a nice hardware store in this area. Saves a long trip to Rockford or Dekalb for your needs. Nice selection of DIY supplies and parts for last minute emergencies. It's not a huge store, but they seem to have everything I need every time. Helpful associates for your questions.Fresh popcorn at the registers is a nice touch.

As a maintenance and repairman goes , I refused to use this store . As it was opening and several weeks through the changeover , I went in 3 times and they didn't have any of the things I needed , or at least not the right style ...But since that time ( over 2 years I believe ? ) they have actually fulfilled every need I was looking for except a set of hose clamp pliers ( which are hard to find anywhere besides online !)and I am thankful that I went back to " try it again " ...Hats off ! ....Kudos ! ...Nicely done !And thank you for considering and achieving a " complete" Hardware store once again , that should make your predasser proud and happy that the ability to service Rochelle is much easier than running to a big box store once again !

I can't say enough good things about this place. The staff are friendly they have a great selection tools and all things hardware related. They have a really good selection of meat seasonings. I like the fact they have some of the unique stuff that other places don't carry

I can say I've never had a bad experience at this location. They have almost anything a homeowner would need (and some contractors) for most repairs.A good place to go when you don't want to drive to another town and find a valve in a 3 acre store.

Always thought this was a good place to pick up a needed hardware item. However, they do not adhere to the mask mandate set by the Governor during the pandemic to protect people, and have even put up a sign on the door advising it's "your discretion" regarding wearing a mask. No employee or shopper wearing one except me at time of my visit. Very disappointed that Ace does not care more about their employees'/customers' health. I will not shop there at this time.

This place seemed to improve considerably coming under new ownership (and no longer being a Do It Best). The staff is much friendlier, the store is better organized, and they seem to have a good selection of things.Gomez in particular is an exceptional employee, always greeting me and seeing if I need help, and he already recognizes me after a trip or two there since they opened.I'm surprised how often I come in here now, but they often have what I need, and the prices are usually reasonable.

Bought my pit boss pellet smoker here a couple years ago and now purchased a Blackstone griddle a few weeks ago, all the accessories are there and anything else you need for cooking/ grilling/ smoking they usually have and the staff is super nice and helpful

What a great small town store! They've got pretty much everything you need and someone to help you find it. Everything from threading pipe to seeding the lawn. Friendly help, Gomez is the paint EXPERT! I needed paint to match the kitchen cabinets, their knowledge and their machine did an awesome job, matched perfectly.

These people are awesome. I drive a truck and when you’re 1500 miles from home when something goes wrong, it can get stressful. Went into the Ace and the staff was very helpful helping me get the part I needed to keep rolling. Very professional yet personable. My hats off to all of them.

Needed some phone accessories that my local facility didn't have. They called Rochelle for me, Rochelle put my items aside at the front desk, and I had smooth sailing once I got to the store. It was very close to closing time, so I didn't get a chance to look at everything there, but saw so many interesting items for sale that I'm planning a return trip as soon as the roads are cleared of snow. This certainly seems to be a full service hardware store in every way.

Plenty of inventory on hand and if it isn’t on the shelf, it can be had in a week. The Ace store in Rochelle has inventory that Menards and Home Depot don’t have. The support staff is readily available and very knowledgeable.

I'm always happy to see new business pop up in Rochelle, there really aren't enough to stay in town at times. I do hope this one lasts because Walmart really is a bit much to go to when you want a place specifically made for the tools you're searching for. I'd definitely recommend stopping in.
