BEST shakes in the entire area, INCLUDING Rockford lol. We drive to Rochelle to this place now religiously every week now just for Shakes. They are open late and cannot be beat!!! Try this place. BEST shakes in the entire area. And the chocolate/peanut butter is the bomb in a great way.Parking: Plenty of parking spots.

Omg!! I'm up here on a business trip and I wanted something different to eat, so the guys suggested" Country School". At first I was like" WTH", after I went in and saw the prices I couldn't resist. Very friendly place. The young ladies that work there are very polite and well-mannered. I've been there twice already. Wish we had a place like this back home( Atlanta)!!

This is my experience. I would like to share it with you....Last week, I ordered a pick up order at Country School restaurant. A fish & fries plate was ordered, but it was not in the bag when I picked it up. I didn't notice it until I got home. Not wanting to go out yet again, I called the restaurant & spoke to Anna. I explained that I didn't get my meal & that I really didn't want to go back out. In lieu of bringing all the food back (& making EVERYONE in my household wait to eat), I asked if it was okay if I brought my receipt in the next day & get reimbursed for the missing fish & fries meal? She said that would be fine, I should talk to the manager, Andrew, the following day & he would fix everything. Great.I went in to Country School restaurant approximately 23 minutes after they opened the next day, receipt in hand. I asked for Andrew & explained what happened. I even suggested just getting the missing meal now & skip the refund. Andrew said that Anna said the meal was in the bag & she wouldn't lie. I tried to explain to Andrew that Anna was mistaken, as 3 people in my home the night before had witnessed that the meal was missing. He refused to refund me or give me a meal.It's a pity. I have been an avid customer at the Country School restaurant for the last 7 years & Andrew thought $8 & some change was more important than continued business. Well, I won't be patronizing that restaurant ever again. I recommend that you don't either. Apparently, all they care about is the $$ they STEAL from their customers. I truly hope the owners see this & retrain their employees. Doesn't matter, though, they got my $8. They'll NEVER get another penny from me.

Country School is "as good as it gets" for fast food in the area. I have tried burgers, fried chicken and now I have been turned on to their chicken strips! The chicken strips are huge pieces of breaded chicken, breaded in the same manner as the bone-in pieces.There has been a time where I have visited Country School and ordered the chicken strips 3 days within one week. They are that delicious!Besides the burgers and chicken, their ice cream is also fantastic. I have heard good things about other items on their menu and I am looking forward to trying something new on my next visit.

Chicken always good. Pricing deceptive. Not the first time I've had issues with prices. Don't go by any menu pricing you see on line. I ordered 10 pc dark. The on-line menu I saw quoted $17.99. The guy taking my order over the phone said "you get 2 sides with that". To keep it simple, I said "just make them both fries". We were charged $30.44 with tax and credit card surcharge. When I went back to complain this morning, the 'general manager' told me my side orders didn't qualify as included sides. Each order of fries was $7.01 on my receipt. A whopping $14 for fries! I asked why the guy taking my order the night before didn't explain that to me. This morning, the so-called GM rudely walked away from me after he told me that was a pretty good price since prices have gone up. He gave me the owner's business card. I called, left a message, no response as of yet. As good as the chicken is, I won't be going back anytime soon. Their practices are deceptive.

The place has decent food and the chicken is good but the place is always dirty. The kid in the kitchen was making my Chicago dogs and laid his arm all over the wrapper he put my dogs in when he bent over to add the toppings. I know kitchens are hot and figured his arms were sweating and told the cashier when he handed me my food to just throw them away and left. Won’t eat there ever again til they clean the place up and hire people who know how to handle food safely. If he’s that careless with my food what else is he careless with?

The food is always delicious and the service is always friendly and quick here. I have never had a bad experience with this place! The building itself is a little run-down but everything else about it is great. Also, it's incredibly cheap! Personally, I recommend treating yourself and trying one of their many available ice cream flavors. Perfect place for a delicious, quick meal!

I was really impressed with this place! The place was very busy when we arrived at the drive thru, I even overheard the customer in front of me order an enormous family meal and the line still moved surprisingly fast considering. When I got to the window, the young lady was very friendly and polite. Unfortunately, two traits that seem to be lost on the youth these days. My order was accurate, hot, and very tasty!Surprisingly delightful experience! Will go again.

One of my favorites. You can't go wrong here. The burgers are juicy all the sides taste great. But the chicken steals the show. I always was served a fresh meal here. Fyi give the patty melt a try best one yet

Well, apparently the girl mentioned below is back. When my wife ordered a shake the other day, she actually said to my wife, "You just have to make my life difficult." after staring blankly and sighing. Shakes are the menu. It's a completely normal and reasonable order to order ice cream at a place that sells ice cream. You need to get rid of this employee because she makes customers feel extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome.---I'm changing my review back to 5 stars from 3 because things have changed a lot recently, and it's so much better.They have all new staff in the last few months from what I can tell, and it's a huge improvement. We started actively avoiding Country School for a while because there was one girl who would literally give you a brief annoyed stare and then sigh if you ordered a milkshake. I'm pretty tolerant generally, but it made us uncomfortable enough to stop going there so we wouldn't feel shamed for ordering something straight off the menu.Anyway, that has all changed, and we started giving it another try, and everybody is extremely friendly now. The ice cream is always pretty good, if a bit inconsistent depending what you get, and while I don't order regular food there much, it's pretty good when I do.The place does feel a bit run down and not super clean, but it doesn't bother me much. I'm happy now that the service is good again.

We ordered lunch for the office. The sauces requested were not included for four of the orders of chicken strips. The burger order was not correct, it had pickles and mustard, and it should have been lettuce, mayo, ketchup and bacon. The pizza puffs were requested well done, but they were not even done. The mac and cheese was not good. The fries were cold. We called to discuss these issues and spoke to Andrew, the manager on duty. Andrew stated that they were busy and our order was too complicated, and we would need to bring the food back for any credits. No resolution was offered and he was not pleasant in any way.

The young lady behind the counter today August 17th, 2021 has some attitude today like she doesn't want to be there. I totally understand but when you roll your eyes at me after I ordered 2 diet Pepsi and I watch you pour 2 regular Pepsi. I find it odd that they charge you more for you to use your debit card. I'm not sure if this is an okay thing to do. Most of the time the service is great and quick. Today it was fast service but with an attitude.

This is a Great place to eat if you like home style fried chicken. It's some of the best I have ever had, and is some like those places on "old Route 66" .The folks there are friendly, and the scoops of high quality "hard" ice cream are HUGE. I try to stop every time I'm around there.The only thing that would make it better would be a "Cruise Night" and Home Made Root Beer !J. Melka

As always this place is top notch. It may be small, but there is a large menu and it's all good! There are plenty of places that have a bigger selection of ice cream, but they have the best and give you a generous portion at a great value! There chicken is the best around. Hands down.

Stopped today for chicken bcuz I had read good reviews. Bought a chicken family meal.Came with 4 bisquits, coleslaw, mashed potatoes & gravy. Delicious! My husband ALWAYS finds something to complain about with his meal no matter where we eat but not this time! He was very happy with the entire meal. We live 45 minutes away and he told me this was are new "go to" fried chicken spot. You can eat inside but we chose to order from the drive thru and then pull over and eat in their big parking lot. It was fun like having a mini picnic. Be sure to ask for utensils and plates if you want to do same.

If you order a grilled cheese and ask for it to be extra grilled, you still only get a butter and cheese sandwich YUCK don't waste your time or money. I wish I could attach a picture. This has happened time and time again.

The chicken dinner is delicious. I got a BLT sandwich today and it was very good. Very busy on Saturday, but worth the wait.
